  1. I wrote a script for an item sorter that used casting as a type to sort the items in to different containers, just like you said. In this case, I was trying to think of a way to keep them from being removed at all, to avoid the crash. But, if the player were running an OnItemRemoved event for every item, even it if didn't actually do anything useful, would that slow things down enough for the script engine to keep up and avoid a crash? Or would the extra processing just make things worse? If I get time later, I may play with this.
  2. The Bloodmoon expansion of Morrowind had snowballs. The kids would throw them at you, and when you threw snowballs back, you'd get a bounty and the guards would try to kill you... Ah, good times. A snowball fight would be very interesting from a game mechanics point of view. Maybe the brawl mechanic would work, only limited to snowballs by using EquipItem and the setting so they can't unequip. Hmmmm.
  3. Well, that sucks. You must have a TON of crap. Is your inventory menu very slow? I've noticed that containers holding huge numbers of items seem to slow the menu down (but that might just be SkyUI). I can't think of a way to only remove types of items, such as armor, because Papyrus doesn't let us grep through inventory. Actually, wait ... how about inventory filters? I've never used them, not sure if they'd work for this ... let me do some research. EDIT: No, that's not going to work. Damn.
  4. Yea, getting naked is a bit annoying, especially in Skyrim where something might freeze off. How did you check against equipped items? I was thinking that favorite items might also be avoided ... if I could figure out how.
  5. How about this - a small object, like an "attunement sphere" or a special diamond or something, that you carry around with you. When you want to unload all your crap, you just put the object into a container, and close the container. Suddenly, you're naked... Give me a few minutes and I'll upload a mod. EDIT: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/41491/?
  6. Unfortunately, I don't think the storage is safe in Apocrypha. I looked in the CK, and also found in-game that they respawn. Damn. Of course, you can also just dump stuff on the floor.
  7. Safe Storage! Of course! Clever! Using Placeable Statics, I bet I could convert the whole plane of Apocrapha into a personal player home! Won't Hermie be surprised.
  8. Definitely not normal. Not sure what to do about it, however.
  9. I tried using the Extensible Follower Framework mod to make one of the vampire cattle in Volkihar follow me to Winstad Manor, but the result was ... weird. For one thing, he'd tend to wander around, rather than staying where I told him to, but as he did so he ALWAYS FACED NORTH. Even when walking south. He'd spontaneously take all his clothes off, walk backward over to the anvil, and start smithing. I don't know if this is related, but that guy in Whiterun who always rants and raves about Talos (Heimskyr?) showed up outside Winstad Manor and attacked. (Lydia owned him before I even realized he was there.) Some other guy who I'd never heard of also showed up and attacked - I think he turned out to be the blacksmith in Dawnstar? I'm pretty sure that wasn't supposed to happen.
  10. I've finished the Dragonborn main quest, but the Black Books in my inventory are still quest items, so I can't drop them. Do they stay quest items forever? Or is there some quest that I haven't finished yet?
  11. Could it be a buggy mouse? Try using the F key to switch to first person.
  12. Good idea. I use the Cloaks of Skyrim mod, and having two capes looks really weird. (The Daedric Cloak from that mod goes really well with a vampire, by the way.)
  13. If you wear thigh-high boots with it, I think it would look similar to the pants. I've seen such boots here on the Nexus.
  14. Thanks. BTW, any idea what to call a single vampire cattle? A "head of vampire cattle"? A "vampire steer"?
  15. Does anyone know if there a vanilla way (meaning without mods) to capture/enslave/whatever non-essential NPCs as vampire cattle? I am playing a vampire and it would be SO convenient to have vampire cattle in my Lakeview estate... but I'd like to do it without resorting to the console.
  16. In the CK, make a duplicate of whatever item you need from the other mod. (Right click on the item and select Duplicate.) Use the copy instead of the original.
  17. I had an idea for a storage mod, rather like an "ingredient sorter" that automatically takes all your ingredients and puts them in a container for you, but more flexible. What if, when the container were empty and you add an item, a script determines what kind of item it is (armor, clothing, whatever - perhaps based on the item icons?) and moves all of that kind of item from your inventory to the container. So it could be an ingredient chest if you put an ingredient in it, or an armor wardrobe if you put a piece of armor in it, etc. No fancy configuration required, no user interface, just stick an item in and you're done. Take 'em all out and stick something else in, and it's reconfigured. Simple. Such a straight-forward idea surely must have already been done. Does such a mod already exist? If not, would anyone be interested in such a mod? (It would probably be most useful with portable containers.)
  18. In my game, it opens the spike-door so you can get back out from behind it.
  19. I had Katria as a follower for a while. here is how I did it. (This works with other folks as well - Salma, Umana, etc.) 1. "help Katria" in the console to get her ID. Guess what - there are two Katrias! UESP says the ghost Katria ID is xx004D0C, but you'll have to check that against what the console says. (I suppose the other may be the corpse, but when I've done the following, she's been very much alive. And yes, you can have two Katrias following you, one live, one dead.) 2. "player.placeatme 4D0C 1" Assuming that 4D0C is indeed her ID. If it's the wrong Katria, disable/markfordelete her and try the other ID. 3. Once you get the Katria you want, click on her in the console so her ID shows up at the top. It should start with ff. 4. "setrelationshiprank player 3" makes her like you enough to follow you. 5. "removefromallfactions" just in case she's in conflicting factions. 6. "addtofaction 5c84d 3" adds her to the follower faction. 7. Talk to her. "Follow me" should be an option. Note that the live Katria has a different voice from the ghost Katria. I much prefer the ghost. (One of these days I'm going to get the Headless Horseman as a follower...!)
  20. I finally (FINALLY!) had an idea for a mod that might actually be worth sharing with the world. How about a mod that makes some of the prisoners you come across in Falmer caves or Necromancer dungeons or whatever, actually still be alive? Then you could rescue them, and maybe they'd reward you, or offer their services as a follower, or tell you where a treasure is hidden, or something. (There is that world interaction encounter where you can save the peddler from the bandits, so he OH so generously offers to TRADE with you. Gee, thanks. Do I at least get a discount?) Would anyone be interested in such a mod? Does such a mod already exist?
  21. Actually, I did try adding a new keyword, but it didn't show up under Draugr. I didn't check Misc, however. Thanks for that link, it's exactly what I've been looking for!
  22. Pffft. Go figure. There is no ArmorMaterialDraugr keyword! There is, however, a WeapMaterialDraugr keyword, so I used that. I'll be interested to see what problems that causes...
  23. Thanks, I'll look at that. I've also got Mastercraft, and most of the Penitus Oculus armor is under Misc. Now I can fix all that! I miss the kudo system. I'd kudo you if I could.
  24. Does anyone know how Skyrim decides which forge recipes to put in which categories? I've added a few recipes in the CK to allow me to forge armor that usually can't be forged (ancient nord stuff) but its showing up under the Steel category (probably because I started with a recipe for steel armor and modified it), and I'd like it under Draugr category along with the Draugr weapons. (I'm not sure if the Draugr weapon recipes are vanilla or part of Immersive Armors.) I'm really puzzled. Does Skyrim decide for itself, perhaps based on keywords? Or is there a setting somewhere I've missed?
  25. This may be it: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34932
