Because the benefits to the huge majority of users who don't use mods are more important than the short term problems for the mod using minority. That "huge" majority would have let Skyrim die years ago.

There is a "light" patch version of SkyUI that gives you the MCM that some mods are dependant on without the UI. I have severe RA. Why the need to throw shade? I own both editions. My comp can run both editions. I simply have no time or interest in forced version updates for common LCD Creation Club content I never wanted. It is the only reason I need, and I am not under the influence of anything, OK?

Not all of us enjoy having our mods broken every update for "horse armor". O, necromancy. :(

Across the broad RPG spectrum, Bethesda is definitely the outlier as regards depictions of Elves in general. I certainly do not recognize TES elves as the definitive style. It's not surprising that a lot of players wish to have a more familiar depiction. Luckily, mods let both sides be happier.

That color usually indicates missing textures or bad texture file path. Blackface or black textures is the usual indication I'm getting a vram prob, IMO.

Like the ones you've seen in real iife? I don't think this is the place to look for paid modding. IMO most of what I have seen of Patreon Paywall modders are simply stealing assets anyway.

At what point after a player has added complete location sets, clothing from other games etc etc does an image no longer even remotely resemble a "screenshot" We already have images that do not contain a single identifiable Skyrim element.

Producing copypasta clickbait for like harvesting is a common theme in most digital medium online galleries. The render "communities" are no better, but they do put on tiered contests with much tighter rules for new users generally. Apparently the consensus here was "carte blanche". While a person can create very nice screens using simple console commands and a basic knowledge of composition and light, unfortunately the usual new user reaction to an established community is a perception that they "need" every bell and whistle. (a common problem in all competition). There is no encouragement or venue here for a new user to establish basic skills with the basic tools. A good non pretentious basic guide to screenshots. Also do a search for GIMP, a free imaging program that is more than you need to edit screenshots.

I highly doubt that is the case. Human or Humanized Elves are the overwhelming choice across most of the RPG genre simply for cosmetics. WOW Blood elves came to pass because players demanded a "pretty" elf option for Horde. I would bet that most who play elves here don't use the Vanilla models and instead are basically humans with pointed ears. I would also bet that the Argonian choice is dead last in popularity. In all mmo/rpg games I play beast races are consistently the least chosen. You really cannot be a Thalmor in game anyway, it's a moot point. I don't do Daedra quests, and I certainly have no delusion of Elder Scroll elves being universally "good" at all.

I come from an extended family of lifer infantry Non-Coms and WOs. Define "harsh critique" for me.. ok? I think even the most benign construction site "critique" would leave some rocking in a catatonic state. And yet.. retail art "critique" would give both of them a run for the money for savagely blunt teardowns. Keep your heart in your chest and not on your sleeve.

One last observation. All of the finalists are from "sets". (which I fully expected) A de-facto "requirement" to have image hosting access. In the future "Single" screenshot should mean just that. One screenshot at a time, not entire portfolios inserted into the description. Or, is saying "inclusive" to all just so much fluff speak?
