  1. Well boys and girls these were my first teasers for my little mod masterpiece linking FO3 to Fallout:New Vegas in which you find out that Summer/Skye/Emma/et al is really an autonomous cyborg sex machine, totally indistinguishable from humans because the only part of her that is not human DNA is the tiny little stealthed wifi controller chip in her hypothalamus.

Yes, you might have been lured and loved, graphically I might add... Amy (not her real name either of course) is really quite unabashed. You would learn, far too late mind you, that the entire city of New Vegas is honeycombed with...

Well let's just you will never know, now.

And that is because I have done so much more on this mod than Shady Sands trying to get it ready to release soon after FNV came out that it has no BSI assets at all in it. But if I plug it into their GECK so you can play it, then my 14 months of work will never earn me a dime, but will make their profits grow and their product stay on the shelf, while my family and I are stranded in a country that is so foul that.... well, let's just say, you don't want to know. It would be a "bad advertisement" to tell you about human "rights" here.

It is exactly the sort of place that made me realize that I consider myself and all modders a bunch of willing .... let's just say "Summers". I can't do it anymore. I won't, I mean.

I'd like to say that I'm doing it for you all, but that would be a lie and I have taken a vow of honesty (at least with myself) because that is the only virtue in my line of work beside loyalty and discretion. No that is a lie too. Lying is the main skill, but there are many, many, many, necessary. Even skills learned making mods come in handy from time to time. Illusion and misinformation is so key in taking down a... "bull".

Btw, the clever fellow pinging my fronts now should know that he is what me and my friends like to call a "plant" which is someone rooted to one spot. That is a condition that only occurs for us when the money runs out, like right now. But the demand for us never ends, only changes tempo. I could have used a few BadPenneys for R2SS, but no hard feelings.

You will get to see "The..." I'm not even going to share the name. But it will be my game from the ground up, and my EULA and my rules that allow people to make money off it instead of just let me be their pimp. I may be cruel, but I am fair.

If you want to know a little bit more about me, read my recent comments on my BadHalfPenney YouTube channel, before they are all stricken from the records too. Silence is not only golden, it costs gold, so I know how much risk I'm taking doing this. None. I am Nephilim like my brothers, the new generation only now waking up. You smug racial purists might want to know, you missed out on the next round of evolution with your hybrid human breeding regimes, because we all came from the scum that you have treated like dogs instead of humans, the curs, the mongrels, the "heinz 57's", not you hybrids.

But my brothers, sisters and I believe that being treated like dogs is a badge of honor, because if you think of it who loves you more and who do you know you can trust, your spouse or your dog? And who are you more likely to kick anyway?

Before I get banned and this is erased, just in case old ping ping reads this: I tried to be nice, didn't I? I have a very long memory, and lots of time. Be careful of the nice old men who move in nearby and smile so sweet. Welcome to paranoia, but you asked for it.

Yep, I'm crazy as a bat, but you can't call me incoherent now, can you? Aren't you even a little bit curious what my twisted little mind might have conjured up from "New Gomorrah?", oops let that name slip. Guess it doesn't belong to me anymore now.

Good luck, have fun. Love the Nephilim and we are angels of light, you can guess what will happen if you hate us. But there are more of us every day, so you should at least learn to respect us, not like old ping ping.

  2. Is it disrespect to ask for references, something that was posted by you? Do you hire people without first reading their CV and references? I certainly don't and neither do I get hired without presenting my references.

No, that isn't disrespectful, but if you don't know that that isn't what I was talking about please refrain from asking such questions. I am responding to them so far, politely, but I will simply ignore you if you are not contributing to my question in a way that I feel is appropriate. In fact, I am just going to ignore your posts and the posts of the other gentleman who apparently is not a flamer but a "slow cooker" like you.

It is also not disrespectful to refrain from giving references, especially since I have asked no one for anything except for the right to earn money from my own efforts. And the right to allow you to do so too. If that offends you, then we are not on the same page, but I am in no way obligated to align myself with your point of view. I hope you realize that I am not disrespectful simply because I refuse to allow you or anyone else to make my decisions for me.

Oh btw, what was your name again?

  3. I checked your profile and I found no uploaded files.

That is because I had already deleted it. It probably isn't even in the top 100 lists anymore, either. It was a gesture of my resolve. If it is already in your possession, though, you may use all parts that were formerly my own property and withheld to you, as modder's resources. As long as you aren't someone with a EULA that is. Then you have to pay for them.

  4. Seriously - if your kids have to starve because their dad cant sell NV mods your family really got other issues...

I don't know why people think that I shouldn't be taken seriously, except that I am a big, fat liar.

You are welcome to your opinions. I welcome them. But all you are going to get for disrespecting me is the same in return.

I am challenging a whole system of doing things that keeps you down, do you really think that I consider YOUR opinion more important than Bethesda's? I'm not afraid of them, why should I care whether you take me seriously or not? But I would like to know your real name, just in case you send my son your resume some day. There will be a wastebasket waiting for it.

BTW, some people, like me, with 30 years training in hand to hand combat but look like useless old farts, take exception when a man starts insulting not only him but his family. I recommend that you rethink that approach to strangers.

  5. Not to mention that before you ask money for something that does not even exists, you'd better show some proof that you are able to deliver on your promise. As I see, the OP does not have a single mod uploaded to this site. With such a solid reference, I'm sure people will bury you under a nice pile of dollars. :whistling:

    That wasn't very nice.

The reason that I am doing this, is because I have gone crazy and decided to be honest and no more cruel than I have to be. It is not as easy as it sounds. You might consider it for yourself.

It takes an exceptional man to equal the average woman. Do you know why? Because men are lifetakers and women are lifemakers and it would take a damn fool not to see which is harder to do and more important. I am a cruel man, and I have to pay penance for what I have done. This is just a part of it.

Before you insult me again, read my signature.

  6. This means whatever you create will be automatically the property of Bethesda/ZeniMax Media (the Licensor). End of story.

Thank you. I realize what it says. I also remember how Microsoft said "End of Story" yet the story goes on, doesn't it?

All I have to do is not create such a EULA for my game to bypass those rules, right? No one can force my hand if I'm not using their resources, can they? No Gamebryo Engine rules to hassle with either.

As I said, my game WILL be far inferior when it is finally released. But after that, who you gonna call? Me? or Them?

BTW, my one and only mod as BadPenney (Return to Shady Sands) I have deleted from the file library on Nexus, but if you have a copy now it is yours to use as a modder's resource. That is only my own material, of course. I only retain enough rights to use them myself. You may even re-upload it unchanged to Nexus if you wish (with Robin's permission, of course) without any mention of my name. You don't really think it is BadPenney do you? lol

  7. I have deleted this mod. I release all rights to any and all portions of it which were formerly my sole property to be used by modders in whatever form they wish, now and into perpetuity. If you already have downloaded it that is.

With Robin's permission, you may even re-upload it to this same site unchanged, if you wish.

    Cheers!

  8. I wonder if you created a mod, and had the install instructions and readme on an HTML webpage, and then added advertisements to that page if you would be breaking the ToS.

Or perhaps had a installer for your mod, and the only way to install your mod is with the installer that you must purchase. This installer uses no Beth resources, you would even need to input your own game path. I think this would bypass the ToS.

I don't want to be a thief, just a professional. Neither do I want to inhibit the free trade of mods, other than my own. You will still have the right to allow your own mods of my game to be downloaded for free. I will not provide a platform for mods, though, just no barriers to you getting rich along with me if you choose to do that.

Maybe Dark0ne will provide a platform for them. I would like to allow him to earn from my game as well, that is, if he doesn't ban me for life first! lol

  9. This may get me banned merely for asking, but it is worth it to me.

It occurs to me that I, like many of you modders, have spent a great deal of time and money making mods under various pseudonyms and had a great deal of fun, but only spent money to do it, sometimes a lot. That was my choice and I am not complaining about that. However, I have only spent and never earned, because I am not allowed to capitalize on the intellectual property rights of Bethesda Softworks, Inc. I signed the agreement, no problem with that, I knew what I was doing and did it while sober and under no duress. But now people are asking me to make a mod for F:NV because they liked the one that I made for Fallout 3 called Return to Shady Sands. I would love to, but I can't afford to now. There are many modders who have made mods for FO3 that are superior to mine in my estimation in many ways, and the money that they have spent in pursuit of making those mods is far greater than I have spent as well. Although some have made a bit of their money back probably, we are all restricted by the same ban on selling our mods. Only Bethesda has earned money from our mods, and that may be legal, but it isn't fair.

Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout 3 are still selling and earning money for you guys and you know damn well it is because of us, but you won't share. I had time to make R2SS because I was UB40 and had plenty of time. Now I am working and struggling to pay my bills so I have no time to indulge in my "hobby". I say that in quotations because, although even I disagree, some people have posted comments expressing that my mod is superior to every DLC that they played. It has 14,630 unique downloads, which at even $5.00 USD would amount to $73,150 USD and not take a penny away from BSI. That is satisfactory compensation for the 5 months that I spent making R2SS. It would even allow me to pay the people who help me, and I would love to do that, but not only am I not allowed to earn any money, BSI is more than happy to punish me for earning them money and take me to court to get any money that I have made for myself. What is wrong with this picture guys? Sounds like "the Golden Rule" to me: HE WHO HAS THE GOLD, MAKES THE RULES.

Even though Microsoft was forced to relent enough intellectual property rights to Windows and Explorer, so that other companies could profit along with them, it took millions of pounds and the EU to get them to do the right thing. I can't outspend you, but I don't have to earn money for you. either. The only way that I can earn money from my skills is by becoming your competitor, which my son, daughter and I are in the process of doing right now. When my first game comes out it will be far inferior to FNV, but I fully plan to allow modders of the caliber of Kai Hojiro and Skree and AlienSlof to earn money by modding it, if they choose to and keep every last BadPenney that they earn. I think by the time they are through with their mods it will be the hottest game on the planet.

In effect, my goal is to put you out of business, Bethesda Software Inc., unless you relent and allow me to feed my children and not have my wife tell me I suck for earning you money for free. I had to admit to her, she had a good point.

Not only will I not agree to download and use the new GECK, I am returning my unopened copy of FNV (haven't had time to even play it) and refuse to earn you anything. I encourage everyone to do the same.

THIS TOPIC IS NOT EVEN OPEN FOR DISCUSSION ON THE OFFICIAL FORUM.

  10. "There are no foreseeable risks or discomforts if I agree to participate in this study."

Does that include boredom? And what the hell is asymmetric dominance? Are you trying to impress us?

"If you choose not to participate or to withdraw from the study at any time, there will be no penalty. "

Whew! I was worried there for a moment.

  11. Is there anyway I can remove a good hairday from the requirements?

    Yes, with FO3Edit.

    From "Miax's Tome of FO3Edit Noir v1.1"

5.2.4 Purging un-used Master File References

Master File References are links or references from your Plug-in to any Master files (ESMs) that it depends on to run, and stores the list in a record called, MAST. Most mods have Fallout3.ESM in their MASTer list, but you can have many such links in a plug-in. In fact when FO3Edit creates a Merged Patch, it puts links to many or nearly-all of the master files in your mod list. It is possible in some cases for a Plug-in to contain a link to a master file that it does not need.

For example, suppose the Plug-in we are cleaning had MasterB.esm in its MASTer list but it doesn't contain any overrides for, or makes any other references to, records from MasterB.esm. In that case we would not need nor want MasterB.esm listed in the MASTer record for our Plug-in! This function detects any un-used MASTer references in the Plug-in we are cleaning, and removes them from the MASTer list. FO3Edit also renumbers any file specific FormIDs in the Plug-in to ensure that it is cleaned properly.

  12. There does not seem to be a "save as" option, how odd...

The script will be saved as whatever word is after "Scn" (scriptname).

    FYI:

If you are not familiar with it already, then it can be handy to know FO3Edit at this point, because it is easy to load a vanilla script as a reference, modify it for your own use, and forget to change the scriptname before saving it. That can overwrite the original script and cause conflicts which cannot be undone simply by renaming the script back to the original name. FO3Edit will allow you to easily find and undo that sort of clutter.

  13. What am I doing wrong?

Probably nothing. My first guess is that one of the mods that you have enabled has buggered up the generic NPC dialogue. If you are not familiar with FO3Edit's conflict resolution detection, and you don't have too many mods installed, try disabling them all and enabling them again one at a time until the glitch appears. Then disable that mod and see if the others work ok without it.

  14. Finally...

Looks good. Glad you were able to figure it out.

Basically, I'm really only responding to your signature. It is dramatic and poetic, but I have stared down the barrel of a gun, and I don't recall an experience anything like what you describe, just for the record.

  15. How do i add Vanilla topics to newly created NPC's? I dont got the equipment to record my own dialogues, so i want to be able to use Vanilla ones. Im making a vendor at the moment, and i'd love it if she could say the same as say, Moira. When you ask to see the wares. If i use custom lines i'd only get the text, not the voice, since there is no soundfile with the answer i just made. Is it possible to use already made text? :)

You can extract the .ogg voice files and .lip files from the vanilla Fallout3_voices.bsa and reassign those files to new dialogue for your custom merchant. The new dialogue uses the same text as the old (you can even copy and paste the text in the GECK) and sounds exactly the same but has a unique ID for your mod. It is not as easy as you had probably hoped, but it is possible.

  16. Drop the other two threads on this same subject please and I will tell you of another possible solution to your puzzle.

Think of a shell game, but instead of switching the shell around so that it is alway empty, switch it around so that it is always full. Follow me?

Instead of tracking, sorting and updating inventory to different boxes in different locations, move one box with one inventory to different locations.

    Here is an example:

Generate a footlocker from the Item List and place it at a location in the game world with the GECK. Settle it into its final resting place in your mod. Name it LockerA. Copy it. Go to another location where you want the inventory to be accessible. Paste a copy of LockerA there. Move and settle it but leave its orientation exactly the same as the original, meaning if the first locker was oriented at a certain angle of rotation (the default zero degrees is simplest) then copies should also be at the same x, y, and z rotation as the original.

You can place as many copies as you want, but for this example let's say 3 copies and one extra, so four lockers total. LockerA, LockerB, and LockerC are placed in different cells, but all facing the same direction. Now place a fourth locker and name it TRUNK. Increase the Scale of TRUNK 1.05%. TRUNK will hold your inventory.

Place object scripts on LockerA, LockerB, and LockerC that Begin OnActivate and work to move TRUNK to their location when they are activated and activate TRUNK instead so that you add and remove items from its inventory only. It would be a good idea to include a timer to the script, so that there is a delay of 2 seconds or so between moving TRUNK to the current location and activating it. That should avoid glitches caused by lag.

Get the idea? Each Locker will have basically the same object script, only the MoveTo location will change. Only TRUNK will ever open, and if you close it and then try to open it again immediately, it will activate instead of the dummy target Locker because it is slightly larger and in exactly the same coordinates, so the dummy locker is inside of it and inaccessible at that point. Since all of the lockers look the same and face the same way, and TRUNK is only imperceptibly larger, it will give the illusion that several boxes have the same inventory when TRUNK moves from place to place.

I think that this should work, though I may be wrong. I will let you work out the details of the scripts. I'm ill-motivated to do all of the work and test it for you, but the different way of looking at the puzzle should make it easily workable. Besides, tweaking and testing is the fun part of modding and I don't want to deny you that.

It should not be too difficult, and far simpler than any OnAdd "polling inventory" script which would likely fail with other mods and their custom inventories anyway. With a "Shell Game" method it should not matter whether items placed into TRUNK are vanilla objects or custom modded ones.
