  1. I have a couple of followers that I like, but want them to have custom voices.. I have a couple of other followers that I love the voices, but don't love the follower... So, what I'm wondering is if I can take the voices of one character, and put them on another? I'm pretty sure there is a way to do this, but I can't find any tutorials on it, I need a video tutorial to understand it.. so if someone knows the answers, pls post a link or a video tutorial for me. ty =)
  2. There was a mod called "Carpet Matches Drapes", idk if it's still up, but it changes the appearance of almost every female in the game. now about the spawns, im not sure about that one, but there was a female bandit mod that would make them pretty.. sorry I cant remember the name.
  3. I'm looking for 2 mods: The first one is a mod that allows you to choose how you wield weapons such as 2h or 1h, so that you can wield a 2h sword/axe in 1 hand. I've found a couple of mods that claim this, but they have bugs such as invisible hands or weapons, or they have messed up animations.. the one im looking for is pretty flawless, but I just can remember the name. The second is a super-type overhaul designed for necromancer-type players. Again, I cant remember the name of it, but it was a top file for some time several months ago.
  4. Well, that's a greate point, Dark0ne. The didn't have to put out those kits for us.. and I'm so glad that they did. I think we all are. Without them, our community, Nexus, and probably skyrim wouldn't exist. The pc modding community made TES what it is today. So I have to also agree, that they although they didn't "have" to give us those tools, it definitely benefits them to do so. Now, that probably wasn't their original intent, and they may not even care about the benefits to them for releasing the kits.. I like to hope they do it because they love us so much.. and I honestly believe that they do. That said.. I just visited the steam article on the workshop where they were talking about how they took down the paid mods and the reasons for it. I wrote a very long thought out on the page, but it has a 1k character limit, and as you can tell, I tend to be rather long winded =p But in short, I believe that the pay-for-mods idea has a substantial chance of irreparably damaging out community. If there's even a chance of that, I think it is in our best interest to oppose it at all costs. For TES players, mods are sacred, they are holy and they are beautiful. The risk of monetizing it is too great. Although there could be chance for great things to come from it, the chance of damaging it still exists. We simply cannot allow that. I don't think that it was shock, ignorance or fear that made people react the way that they did. I think it was that they did, in fact, recognize this risk, and reacted the way anyone would react to a threat. They struck back, and they struck back hard. In the end, the outcome of this was one of two things, either do away with paid mods, or risk losing what we've built for a decade. It's only reasonable. It is a shame that some behaved the way they did.. some just plain shameful. But it is the internet after all, children and trolls will come out of every corner to cause more problems. In the end, the risk is just too great. The modding community is far more important to allow a few people to profit from it, at the expence of all of us. We all saw how the copyright issues, pricing and separation of paid/free mod authors took place, practically immediately. Do we really want to alienate each other, form cliques of mod authors and discriminate against those who aren't in our clique? That's what was about to happen.. and that was just the first 2 days. Keep modding free, not because we can't afford a few mods, but because our community is too precious to risk for a few dollars. Remember that.
  5. well, cbbe body (probably tbbp version) milkdrinker skin (I think) some facepaint mod - I can never make them work so not sure which apachii skyhair wearable horns *not sure about the armor and some eye retex mod (again not sure which) and of course: racemenu Enhanced Character Edit and probably "show race menu" sorry it wont let me paste links in here
  6. This marks the beginning of the end of modding communities as we know them.. we tried to warn you all, but you didn't listen. Yea, you had a few years with skyrim, but think about the next TES game. You will not have the unlimited supply of game content that Nexus has supplied us with for skyrim, oblivion or fallout.. all of that will be gone. The high end mods will cost a lot of money (relatively). Wet and Cold is already $5 on SW... I've had and used that mod forever, Gopher even included it in his "must have mods" list. it's obvious that several mod authors were holding their precious new projects for this release... the worst part of all of this is now we'll have 3 separate groups of mod authors professional seasoned noob you think it's hard to get past that noob stage now, just wait until no seasoned or professional authors can be bothered to help anyone else with collaborations and guidance... I've been trying to get a simple vanilla script altered for like a month now, and no1 will even take 10 mins to look at it.. after this, no author who has the experience will take time for a no-name author to help them out. (exceptions always - save your comment) Less mod authors = less mods = higher rate for mods = paying more for what we got for free with skyrim. once again, the greedy few have destroyed something beautiful that everyone could love and enjoy. anyone who supports this is helping to destroy it. Steam says "now you can support your mod authors" we already could via donations.. but steam wants to get some of that donation money, and they've done nothing to earn it.. steam doesn't make mods or content, they just make money selling it. mod authors only get %25 of the price, if this was about how now we can support them, then why does steam take so much of the profit, they have no overhead to cover, it's pure robbery.. You'd have to be moderately retarded not to see this.
  7. Try "Expanded Towns and Cities" mod by missjennabee I'd give you a link, but this forum system wont let me copy/paste.. but if you search for "expanded" its on the 3rd page
  8. I'd really like to see some blacksmiths that would actually make weapons for you. They're all the time telling me "if you ever need anything made, come see me" but they never do... I'd like to be able to request that a blacksmith get off his butt and do some work for all that money I'm giving him.. besides, we don't all want to make stuff ourselves, maybe we wanna be lazy sometimes.. Lets say I'm lev 10, and I want a glass bow.. well if I can get the materials, why not have him make it for me rather than wait until I have a high enough smithing level? right?
  9. I've been working on a lesser power ability for my game, but I cant get the scripting figured out. I've made a few other mods myself, but scripting is still an unknown to me, because none of my mods ever needed it before. This one does. If you're good at altering/creating scripts for spells, please hit me up.. send a message on nexus, or add me on steam (callmepopy) and we can talk. I've already got most of the mod complete, the spell even works, but the effect is still missing it's main ingredient.. I promise it's nothing insane, and already implemented to skyrim itself, I'm just tweaking it a bit. Hopes for a response, and thanks for reading.
  10. Paying for mods = destruction of modding community as we know (and love) it. There's no way around that fact. While it would open up new opportunities, it will completely rule out far too many. As you pointed out, the use of other author's assets will be out of the question, meaning it will take way too long to create mods in the manner that so many great authors do, without forking out cash, or forming cliques of modders, which would alienate the masses. We WANT new modders coming in constantly, as older modders move on to other things, if not, the modding community will die out, and soon after, other modding communities will follow suit. This will lead to the eventual death of moddng altogether... that's a statistical fact. Want a precedent.. look at expansions built for games in the past. Expansion packs became a new means of profit, and now they're just "the rest of the game" Dev's learned that they can sell half of a complete game (in comparison to earlier games of the same genre), and charge extra for the remaining half of the game. It's now commonplace. Profit from User Generated Content is akin to Reality Television... The devs will have no further need to create the premium content, and will simply rely on the players themselves to create the games they want to play, and much like Valve, will rake in all of the profit from it. Valve has next to nothing to do with the UGC that they gain %75 of the profit from.. that's simply robbery. This wont be up to us, as gamers and modders, to decide on.. it will be based on the amount of profit generated from their tests, and we all know how people are, as soon as they see something that "looks cool", they'll buy it thinking "what's it matter, I've got an extra $1.99 to spare"... Well, what matters is that each purchase will only serve to enforce their belief that this is ok, and eventually WILL lead to the masses having to buy their mods, which used to be free, and that's why we all loved them so much... we could add as much content to the game as we like, limited only by our imagination, and a file size.. now we will all be further limited by how much money we make, which will create vast gaps between who can have what mods, and who can even create what mods. In case I haven't been clear, Paying For Mods Goes Against The Ideals Of Our Communities, Communities Such As Nexus, And Will Destroy The Joy We Gain From Our Games On PC.... unless you just want to start playing all your games on console.... because without the freedom of modding, why bother buying a $2-$3000 machine?
  11. well, actually I didn't get any errors since yday. I was able to download some pretty hefty files, one in particular was 400,000kb+, which confuses me because of the upload limit... but w/e, at least I can get the files I want.. shame about that one armor mod though. It was up for a couple of days, but when I could finally download it, it had been taken down.
  12. In response to post #16179880. #16180815 is also a reply to the same post. well, I added the mods I want to my favs so I could find them again easily today, and retry to download. worked great, still cant download them, but I recommend doing this actually for anyone who is having similar problems... but unfortunately 2 of the mods I wanted are no long on the nexus... awesome file not found
  13. well, I'm confused.. it seems that only certain files are affected for me. I was able to download one of the hotfiles for today just fine, but the other ones I tried wouldn't let me download. Keeps saying "There Was An Error". so why only those, and not others? That doesn't seem like a traffic problem, that sounds like a pretty gnarly glitch. Idk, I'm just reporting what's happening with my end, maybe it'll work tomorrow. Of course I'll probably forget all about those mods by then.. oh well
  14. About a week ago, in the creation kit, I noticed that the terrain (Ground) had become completely invisible. I cannot see it in the kit at all.. I've looked for several days for a solution, but it seems it's not a common problem, or at least I cant find anyone else who's had the same problem. I've seen where people have had too many ground textures, causing a similar problem, but I have no textures placed. And even when I load up a vanilla cell, such as a wilderness area outside of whiterun, I there's still no ground, and I can see the water running below the grass and rocks. As you can imagine, this is a huge problem for me, as I'm actually trying to use CK to create a quest line, and It would include an outside area, not just dungeons. So here's what I'm thinking. Maybe an ini file value is wrong. Maybe I clicked a button I'm unaware of in CK or placed an incorrect value somewhere. Does anyone know of a way to toggle ground terrain on/off, or any thing that may help me fix the problem I'm having? Appreciate it.
