  1. Thank you both, I am quite grateful for the help, with a safe fix and the involved one to choose from. I have never heard of ENB, looks very helpful. might take a look at that when I feel safe to start playing with the settings again. Thank you.
  2. Seems pretty reasonable, not sure how to address that, but I need to play this game for a while then come back to tinkering with settings. But oddly, this doesn't bother me at all compaired to the damn keyboard assignment being uneditable... Again. To all the modders out there, I look forward to your work, it's necessary once more to save the day. :D Curious why you don't want object shadows, that is the part I notice the most when I play.
  3. No, sadly I didn't. But nice idea. Seems to definitely be tied to lighting as inside the vault it goes away, but outside it was on everyone. iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=2048 Wondering if god lighting has anything to do with it, but wouldn't think that was an issue since that effect 'should' be used all the time like particle effects.
  4. So I am getting these strange white squares appearing around characters after the Vault Tek guy's visit. Not sure how this happened, or why, but I can not figure out how to get rid of them. Has anyone come across this or heard about this? Would there be a fix anywhere that's been heard of? Thank you all
  5. ... Thank you! I didn't even think about the difficulty subtracting 25% from my damage. My lord that explains everything... Thank you for pointing the obvious that I couldn't see. And no need to worry about offense, you were very polite and I appreciate your answer and link as well.
  6. Hi all, I decided to run through as brawler in Skyrim, and am having a little trouble surviving. using upgraded dragon plate, and 2 unarmed magic enchantments, along with the mod: Fists of the Mage http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32933/? (Which I had to download because I was not doing enough damage as brawl only). I seem to only be doing about 50-53 damage per normal hit at level 36 to a combat deactivated spawned conjuerer or vampire, and similarly when sneak attacking with the x10 multiplier. I have the smithing bonus to unarmed, 2 enchantments supposedly doing +12 damage each, while playing a Khajiit with an additional 25 for shock (least that's what I gathered from the mod's posts). So supposedly I should be doing about 17 gauntlets + 15 Khajiit + 24 enchantments + 25 shock mod but it doesn't play out in game. getavinfo in the console returns: 58.2 total = base value 0 derived value 10 temp 17 perm 31.20 damage 0 level up 41.2 Is this normal, or do I have a bug someplace? None of the few mods I am running effect unarmed, unless it wasn't in their notes. climates of tamriel, SkyUI, helm toggle, 3DNPC, apachii hair, Path of Shadows, Smithing perks overhaul, immersive weapons, complete crafting overhaul, weapons and armor fixes, climates of tamriel, populated forts/civil wars/prisons, soultrap redone, unofficial patch, and run for your lives. Thanks for any responses. One sorta side note, how do I get the cinematic death moves back for unarmed? I kinda miss them.
  7. Thank you for those. Really cool. The only ID's I've seen out there are for weapons and armor, not world items.
  8. I built 2 computers before, and I'm a novice, uneducated, can barely find anything on the board that I am looking for. It's actually quite easy, and a larger case means better airflow and better longevity for your parts. I wouldn't discredit the idea of a larger box. And certainly, it's pretty cheap to replace the main board and the chip. Everything is modular and you really can't screw it up unless you are completely lacking in common sense. I have to say you will put more work into picking out the parts than you ever will assembling it. So don't think it's not a good idea. You can put one together in 6 hours with no experience... That is... as long as you bought parts that work together.
  9. No, I'm sorry. See, I bought back in the late summer after a very long fight with myself. I made up my mind that I would upgrade to run dx11 and buy a second 6950 some time next year to keep up with the Jones'. The biggest issue I found was that the performance between the 4890 and the 6950 is not that dramatic. It runs cooler though, which is great since I OC everything. But truthfully, there is not that much of a performance disparity like the previous upgrades were. If money is tight, I would suggest that you wait for the next gen cards as you'll get a much longer run on a 7 series ATI than a 6 series. You'll get at least an extra year out of a brand new card and it'll likely make you happier because it'll be 3 steps up from where you are now. Though they'll be about $300 for the board, when money matters, you want it to count. I'm not disapointed with my 6950, but I was not impressed either.
  10. I am picking up the special swords for becoming Thane, and I really have no need for them, but I would love to display them in my house. I can work with setpos to stick them on a wall, but the problem I am having is that they succumb to gravity when the room reloads, or if a gentle breeze passes through my house. Is there any way to lock these items down?
  11. I own a 6950 2gig and it's adequate to run on ultra 1900x1200, but there are problems when you get near water events like rivers and waterfalls, else it runs fine. My card cost about $280 a month ago because it's the Toxic edition. I would really recommend waiting till the new cards come out in the spring. ATI should have the 7 series out then, and you'll likely end up with a measurably better card than you can get now. The difference in performance these past couple years has not been dramatic. But if you're impatient, run 2 4890's in crossfire and you'll have a better setup than most all single cards out there currently. Though they aren't dx11-12 which means you'll be missing after-processing things that the newer cards can accomplish. If you can suffer through the next 3 months, I'd really wait till the next gen makes it to market. You'll be much happier.
  12. I wanted to do my part and add a little bit of info in the quest completion area. Where is the nexus site for Skyrim's wiki? And what would be the best avenue to add little things here and there so it's as detailed as Oblivion?
  13. Thanks. I was hoping for a little experience with this matter. But I know how it is with multiple mods. They don't individually cause it, but once you start burying the base under add-ons, things start getting really weird. I'll have to resign myself to do it the old fashioned way, thank you for the advice, it's what is really needed to be done.
  14. I am having trouble isolating the issue I am having with mods and the bandit leader surrendering. It seems to work fine without but the stealing mods for v1.03, but I added a few more aesthetic ones and bug fixes, the bandit leader will no longer surrender. Can anyone give me a hand or advice with v1.03 DA:O?
