  1. There aren't any actual legit, licensed products of the gun anywhere. Any version of the gun that you can buy are made by fans and given different names to avoid any copyright infringement. Those guns are incredibly accurate, available all over the place, and are made by dozens of different companies. They can get away with it safely because they just don't call them "Blade Runner" guns, because that's the copyright. The "Detective Special" name was one of those made up names to circumvent copyright. There's no copyright or trademark for the shape of the gun. Blade Runner doesn't have the same crazy legal protection that George Lucas put on Star Wars stuff.
  2. I saw this yesterday. I'm not impressed by it. I'll repost what I said in the comments for it: "I was incredibly excited to see this mod, but upon actually looking at the model, I'm really disappointed that it is completely inaccurate to the original. You've created the basic, rough outline of the gun, but that's where any resemblance ends. None of the parts of this thing are accurate to the Blade Runner prop. I'm glad to see someone try to put my favorite gun in the game, but I really wish it was accurate and not just a bunch of random bits and pieces. The version of the gun in New Vegas was pretty inaccurate, but this is even less accurate. I understand that you were just doing the best you could using the existing gun parts available from Fallout 4 and that it would be really difficult if not impossible to make a more accurate model without the GECK and expensive software like 3ds max, but it's still very disappointing."
  3. Not to mention that it is the same button as hold your breath while aiming. I don't know how many times I've accidentally power attacked and blown my cover by trying to hold my breath before I start aiming. There is such a huge difference between silently hold your breath and swing your gun around and make a huge noise.
  4. Sorry for the double post, but I just had an awesome idea for *how* to put the gun in the game. It should obviously be placed in the Blade Runner Easter egg scene next to Deckard and Roy's bodies, but what if instead of just laying there or being in Deckard's inventory, there's a rifle that is modable into the Blade Runner gun, pulling on the lore from Fallout 1 which described the gun as a rifle lovingly cut down and modified into a pistol. With the crafting system, we can do that now; how cool would that be? The rifle should be some kind of Legendary weapon with a bonus to kill synths. It could be a type of rifle that is already in the game and come with a comic book that unlocks the Blade Runner mods. It could be a "Blade Runner" comic, or it could be called something like "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", or "More Human than Human". I'm partial to the latter. Ideas for the mods: Receiver - upgrades to double-set triggers (if an existing gun. if it's a new type of gun, the receiver could already have double-set triggers) Barrel - upgrades from long to short Magazine - upgrades to add a revolver cylinder along with the bolt action Stock - upgrades from full stock to handgun sharpshooter grip Sights - adds a laser sight (which is what the thing with the red LEDs under the barrel and the rod with the green LEDs on the side of the gun could be) Ideas for comic book: The original Marvel comic from the 80's This awesome piece by http://timothyandersonart-illustration.blogspot.com/ Original text could be added to this version of the Marvel Illustrated Book cover http://www.midnightonly.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Blade-Runner-Steranko.jpg
  5. Cool thanks! Not quite a full problem fix, but definitely better than nothing!
  6. I think the only way to deal with that in a balanced way is that you should either lose any legendary effects if you break them down, or just make it so you can't break down legendary weapons at all. I mean, you can't scrap them, so being unbreakable would kind of make sense. I don't like the idea of having the effect tied to a random component, that would inevitably lead to OP exploitation. Binding the effect to the receiver would mean that you couldn't upgrade the receiver of a legendary weapon, which would suck. If you tie the effect to any particular part, then you limit the modability of that weapon. I think it makes the most sense that a weapon loses its specialness if you totally break it apart. Break the weapon and break the legend. Or just keep them unscrapable and unbreakable.
  7. I can't believe it's not in the game. I personally don't really care what it's called, or what caliber ammo it uses, but it needs to be in Fallout 4. I was glad to see in in New Vegas, but I was pretty disappointed with the in game model and it's poor resemblance to the original gun, especially now that the hero prop has been found and we finally have decent pictures of it. http://www.originalprop.com/blog/2009/04/09/the-blade-runner-hero-deckard-pistolblaster-movie-prop-photos-then-now/ http://www.originalprop.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/blade-runner-deckard-hero-pistol-movie-prop-profiles-in-history-2009-01.jpg
  8. I would really love to be able to break down a weapon in the constituent mods it's made of. Like in addition to the "scrap" option, there should be a "break down" option which turns the gun into the mods it has, rather than the junk. It sucks that if we want to pull the barrel off of one gun and add it to another, we have to build a new one to replace it first. It's a waste of materials and makes no sense. We should also be able to scrap mods into junk and it would be really cool if we could build new weapons entirely from mods, for instance, select a receiver mod and the build onto it from there, adding a barrel and a grip or stock, and so on. Additionally, mods should really be interchangeable if they look the same. All pipe weapon mods look identical, but none of them are interchangeable; pipe revolver mods won't fit onto a pipe bolt action gun, etc. Similarly with the combat rifle and combat shotgun, their mods should be interchangeable.
  9. I would love a mod that gives you a normal Pip Boy display when you are invisible, or perhaps replaces it with the pip boy display you get while in power armour. When the invisible effect is on it's hard to see anything on the map and much of the text is totally unreadable. Plus, if you activate the pip boy while your gun is moving, the display is horribly glitched and you can't see anything properly. This might not be a huge problem during occasional stealth boy use since they wear off, and are relatively rare, but I have a piece of legendary armour that gives me invisibility when I'm sneaking and standing still and I do a LOT of sneaking, so my pip boy is almost always bugged out and hard to see. Trying to use aid items or change weapons during a fight is really difficult because sometimes the display is so glitched you can't see any item names and I can't sneak before quick traveling because the map is unreadable, so I often find myself getting ambushed by nearby enemies. It drives me crazy. I also kind of wish the invisibility effect wasn't quite so invisible. It looks kind of stupid seeing dramatic closeups of myself in VATS when I'm basically invisible. I wish I could see myself a little bit. And I really wish that it didn't make the reflex sight dot turn invisible too. It's basically impossible to aim without a scope while invisible. Ugh.
  10. I have pondered the implications of having my soul allegedly owned by so many Daedric Lords, and the only thing that makes sense to me is that the Daedra might not have the actual power to collect them as they claim. They are a tricksy bunch, and maybe the only way they can get your soul is by convincing you that they will own it if you do their bidding. Perhaps they only own your soul if you believe they do. They certainly operate through constant betrayals and lies, perhaps they can be lied to as well, and there is no binding contract for the ownership of the soul. Just a rouse to get us to give up the goods and think that we have no choice once we have "committed." Given how much elaboration the writers put into the story of the world, I just can't believe that this conundrum is an oversight that they never considered. I think they left it open to interpretation, like so many other things in the game, to encourage us to wonder and do exactly what we are doing now. Additionally, I think it is pretty silly to complain about the potential soul selling in regards to the artifacts, as the "dealing with the devil" aspect is one of the biggest things that makes the items so intriguing. It's not like they are the best weapons in the game or are needed to complete any other quests. You don't need them and you don't have to do the quests. To remove any potential eternal consequences from them would be to remove most of the moral dilemmas in the game. The ethical conflict should make the game feel more like real life. Everything shouldn't be easy to choose and without any strings. Many of the complainers in this thread have whined that they didn't like the soul contracts, but wanted there to be more consequences. That's contradictory. I think it is far better to have unforeseeable and unknown consequences that our character must speculate upon for the rest of their lives rather than have in-game alienation from certain factions. The former is thought provoking and the latter is game experience limiting. Part of me wishes that I could use the Ebony Blade more without having to murder my friends because I miss the Daikatanas from Morrowind and I just love that kind of sword. But the moral dilemmas I've been going through are incredible and heart wrenching. I am constantly trying to convince myself to not kill anyone with it and to leave it at home but finding myself unable to put the sword down because I might make friends with someone I might dislike. I then reflect on the act of making friends with the intent of killing them and become horrified at the implications. It is awesome. Most of the moral dilemmas given to us by games are fairly easy to work through. There are so many ways to get away with being caught doing most bad things. But this sword makes the victim apathetic to their own murder and demands the blood of people who like and trust you. You are guaranteed to get away with it with no punishment other than the knowledge of what you have done that will either haunt you or make you into an inhuman psycho killer. THAT is diabolical. I could cheat and resurrect the NPC friends I'd kill, but that would cheapen the experience. I'm just going to wait for a mod that puts Daikatantas back in the game and continue to wrestle with the urge to hide the sword in a barrel so that I don't see it on the wall and give in to the temptation. As for whining about Nocturnal, that also seems pretty silly as the obligations have to be the least demanding of any religion ever. You "worship" her by doing whatever you want. You are told you have to pay for it in the afterlife, but I'm not buying that. You shouldn't believe everything you are told by a morally ambiguous double dealing voice who is beyond conventional mortal notions of good and bad. None of them are omnipotent, nor are they omnipresent, nor are they omniscient. If beings who lie constantly tell you something that is impossible, then it is almost certainly a lie. The reason they get so much entertainment out of us mortals is because we are so ready to believe the things they tells us. Play the player, take their shiny sticks and promise each everything you've got, let them argue about who gets the soul while you run off to do as you please. Plus they are not likely to even ever see you soul shed the mortal coil anyway as the player characters in these games have a tendency to end up immortal eventually anyway.
  11. Thanks! And good luck with your SPFX work! His mod is cool, but I'm not after the Fallout Tactics armor. I just included that image to illustrate the shoulder cape and chain.
  12. I love the idea behind the Courier 6 Power Armor Mod, unique power armour for the PC that doesn't match any of the factions in the game, however it isn't my style. I think it is well made and has a great level of detail, but it doesn't fit my character. Even with the option to remove the "Courier 6" tag and the less rusty version, it doesn't suit me. What I'd love to see is a western inspired suit of power armor. Mad Max meets Clint Eastwood. I am a sculptor, a costume designer, and prop builder, however my game modding skills end at editing item stats with the GECK. Computer graphics are beyond me as I have a fear and loathing of numbers. I am a very tactile and hands-on artist with limited digital art abilities. I plan on building an actual costume along these lines, but I have no way of making one for the game. I run a small prop and special effects company, and we are going to create a group of costumes of our original characters from the Fallout universe. I'm essentially going to describe what I am going to build for my character. I want to bring back the shoulder cape and chain from Fallout Tactics: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20101021084002/fallout/images/2/2d/FOT_Power_armor_2.jpg BUT have the fabric be more like Clint Eastwood's sarape: http://cdn-images.hollywood.com/site/eastwood_good_ugly.jpg I don't wear power armor helmets with my PC's, opting for something with more personality. For instance, I wore Abe Lincoln's top hat with Tesla Armor. I would love to see Clint's hat from Pale Rider with some kind of gas mask and/or goggles: http://blogs.amctv.com/movie-blog/pale-rider-560.jpg The gas mask could be taken from the part of the T-51-b helmet that covers the mouth, but reduced in size. Goggles could just be the "Model Steel" from the Sunglasses Collection Mod. Circular lenses, Trigun or Hellsing style. Overall, it would be aesthetically similar to the Tribal Power Armor (Ashur's Power Armor) from The Pitt, with bits of rust, patched plates, and scavenged parts, but using a base other than the T-45d. With less distress and with western filigree textures in places. I would prefer it to use the Remnants Armor as a base, for several reasons. I love the Fallout 2 look. There have been numerous alternate versions of both kinds of Brotherhood Power armor: the Outcast, Medic, Tribal, and Winterized versions, among others. Also, It is not a carry over from Fallout 3 and has not been modded to my knowledge. However, the Remnants Armor would probably look ridiculous without the helmet and with a western hat, so I imagine that the large topmost shoulder piece would have to go, as much as I like it. Possible replacement ideas could be the Fallout 3 Tesla Armor shoulder pad on the right side and a Brahmin skull on the left. The sarape fabric could wrap around the back to cover the area where that shoulder plate used to go, covering the area above the awesome glowing vent. Maybe bits of the front of the removed shoulder plate could be used to retain some of the look of the Remnant armor and patch together the Tesla shoulder pad and skull. I also prefer the leg armor from the T51-b, though perhaps the boots could be modified to have heels more like cowboy boots and given spurs (spur noises with the footsteps would be AMAZING). Spikes on the toes of the boots would be a nice touch as Boba Fett was inspired by Clint Eastwood. The arms could also be replaced with the Hellfire or Tesla arms (maybe one of each) as the Remnant arms are a bit bland. I'd also add at least one gun belt, thigh straps, etc. Large, decorative belt buckles are a must. Buckle ideas: http://www.buckleshop.com/images/5010jd.jpg http://www.buckleshop.com/images/5007jd.jpg Two belt buckles I own and am going to include in the costume: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41PM2VP7RPL.jpg http://www.ultraviolentgear.com/images/UVWingBombBuckle.jpg Also piercings, bullet holes, and feathers in the hat like Brom's Gunslinger painting (and possibly also a crumpled Ace of Spades card tucked in the brim): http://animeonly.org/albums/NAUJAUSI/DIVERS/brom_gunslinger.jpg Things I would personally avoid: fringed leather, sheriff's badges, and ass chaps. LOL If someone were to make this, I would be extremely grateful. I'd want it to be freely distributed, all I'd ask for is credit for the design and a link to this thread and to my website, Outland Armour. If anyone is interested, I might be able to whip up some sketches if necessary. I've thought of a few name ideas for the armor, though that is less important and be easily changed with the GECK: the Drifter Power Armor, Guinness's Power Armor (the name of my character), the Power Armor with No Name (LOL). Of those my current favorite is the Drifter Power Armor.
  13. I second this! Honestly, all ovens in the game should be usable like campfires if they have a pilot light in them and are in decent condition. Also, the radios in the presidential suite all seem to create nothing but static. Can anyone fix that as well?
  14. Playing a Rogue I found it to be highly irritating that all of my armour has looked essentially identical throughout the entire game. It was quite disappointing to receive my Superior Drakeskin Armour, only to find that it didn't really look any different than the default armour I started the game with at level 1. I mean, the "Drake" skin looks pretty much just like cowhide in both color and texture. I gave the man dragon scales and he managed to make armour that didn't have a trace of reptilian anatomy on it. As amazing of a feat as that is, it makes for a pretty boring game experience. I was reading about the various sets of light armour in the game, when I discovered that there was a suit called the Felon's Coat which was sold by Wade. Well, I just happened to have killed the Dragon for the Drakeskin quest before I even met Wade, so I completed that quest the first time I talked to him and now he won't make or sell me anything anymore. So my request is in two parts: Can someone make a mod that either makes Wade's boyfriend less obnoxious, i.e. NOT refuse to do business with you, or make the felon's coat available somewhere else in the game? I would like to have it for the stats, but I even hesitate to ask this, as the Felon's Coat probably looks just like all the other leather armour in the game, which is a whole other issue. I can't seem to find any images of the Felon's Coat, but I have a sinking suspicion that it's just like all of the other leather armour, slight variations of the Dalish and the Studded Leather. Basically we are given two options: short sleeves and a skirt, or long sleeves and pants. Even thought they offer those two choices in a dozen exciting variations of smooth brown, they are still the same two choices the entire game. Could someone please make a unique looking set of light armour? It seems that all of the light armour mods here so far are more slight variations of Dalish and Studded Leather. They are all decent jobs and they look good, but I am just so tired of seeing that same leather in the game. It's hard to feel like I have progressed at all when I still look almost exactly like I did when I started over 30 hours of gameplay ago. I don't want a super god suit, just something with stats comparable to the Felon's Coat that looks original and not at all like the Dalish Amour or the Studded Leather. Essentially an original suit like the Grey Warden Runic Armour, only for Rouges. I would be extremely grateful for any help with either of these problems.
  15. Someone should create Proton Packs for the game! I just finished the new Ghostbusters game and found myself wanting a good deal more. Perhaps ghosts and such could be created as well, if not directly ported from Oblivion, if such a thing is even possible.
  16. One thing I would love to see in the game are metal throwing cards, the kind with sharpened edges. It would be an incredibly simple mod to create and add some nice flavor to the throwing weapons selection.
  17. I think it would be fantastic to see some Firefly weapons in Fallout 3, particularly Mal and Jayne's pistols and Jayne's assault rifle, Vera.
