  1. Adding new meshes? Convert your .obj/.3ds models into .nif models for Skyrim, put the meshes into Data/Meshes/Modname / put textures into Data/Textures/Modname Open CK, go to Static category, right click, new, give a new form name, go to model, edit, select new model, find your model, press OK, and you're set. You might have an XMarkerError if you drag it into the render window, simply save, close CK, open CK again and you have your first custom mesh to use in Skyrim. One word of advice, navmeshing around the branches will be difficult and will give you problems. I would suggest having a different approach for a tree house, like a city inside the tree, as seen in James Cameron's AVATAR. Then just be creative! And enjoy!
  2. Yes I know, I played Morrowind with the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions, and I'm aware of the rumors about the Indoril in Oblivion. However, both UESP and Imperial Library articles are on the line that while the House did suffer a crippling hit, it wasn't enough to make it disappear. Their district in Whiterun is just recently built, by refugees coming from Morrowind after the Red Year. Barlgruuf's father, granted them the honor to name their own district as they saw fit, as they contributed to the city (as farmers, workers, intelectuals etc).

  4. Well, House Redoran rules Raven Rock, and it is implied, in lore, that other members of House Redoran and House Hlaalu inhabit that slimy Gray Quarter of Windhelm. I explain, in lore, that the inhabitants of Ald White'Run, where they even had the privilege to rename the district to a more dunmereth sounding name, are mostly members of House Indoril, with some Ashlanders as well, including an easter egg for the Nerevarine. Lorewise, I also bring back Blackmoor (I prefer Blackmoor, instead of Black Moor) as a small village inhabited by the rich, with farmlands, a windmill, a lumbermill, a small blacksmith, a mansion, and some houses providing new interesting NPCs.

Blackmoor - Settlement (The settlement from TES: Arena brought to Skyrim) After the Imperial annexion of Skyrim in the early Second Era, the small village of Blecknau's Cross, became the Imperial settlement of Blackmoor, or as some contemporary historians prefer, Black Moor. The settlement during Imperial domination grew larger, about thirty hectares, and it was laid on the side of the road that lead from Whiterun to Markarth. The settlement contained a number of public buildings, including an inn and a bathhouse for the many travellers that passed through the village. The settlement flourished until the late Third Era, where the chaos provoked by the Oblivion Crysis forced many inhabitants to flee for Hold's capitol, Whiterun. One building in particular, Nemlar Mansion, is believed to having been built and owned by Barenziah, as a remote winter residence, close to the center of power in Skyrim and not too far from the border with Cyrodiil. The earthworks and, for much of the circumference, the early Third Era walls are still visible around the village. Unfortunately, as of now 4£ 201, Blackmoor is just a shell of what it once was, with many people still leaving for the bigger towns in order to find work and better opportunities. On the contrary, the rich started moving into Blackmoor, quickly starting to love the relative quietness of the area.   6. I did not remove any vanilla objects for compatibility, trust me. I simply moved them where I saw fit. Well, Skyrim is still the closest province to Morrowind, back on the Dunmer subject.
  7. If I desire I will release a compatibility patch with that mod, granted that I will be given permission to make one. Lorewise, there's nothing that says that Dunmer all have to go in Windhelm. Whiterun's "gray quarter" is not xenophobic, it is well integrated, and it is not called a gray quarter at all, but with a dunmereth name, Ald White'Run, in their language. In my mod I wanted to make clear that the Dunmer of Whiterun are well integrated and accepted (most will have a House Indoril provenience) instead of Hlaalu or Redoran. Why they live there? Because "they" feel home in their little re-created version of Morrowind.

Prepare to meet a totally immersive and lore-expansive complete overhaul of Whiterun, with three new districts added, around Jorrvaskr and Dragonsreach, both within the town's walls: the Rain district, the most ancient district in town, with its neatly colored houses, the Dunmer Quarter labeled Ald White'Run, an ethnic shanty-town with balconies and cramped alleyways, the Flea District with its magnific view over the County of Riverwood and finally, the Imperial Military District, where Fort Darius is built. On the thread of the mod under development you'll find additional information, both screenshots and lore. The voices for Dunmers will be specially filtered in Audacity to give them the particular tone that they had in Morrowind.   10. I run it on a 6990 4GB, FPS are stable at 60. On my 6950 1GB, on another PC, it stays at 47-50 in the most demanding parts of the town. And I run 1024x1024 textures from S2K. The town is optimized with portals, so when you are away from a district, objects and clutter will get culled.
  11. Very nice models, the last one for example could be easily reused as a porch for a tavern with two floors for Riften, with a patio with tables outside. I really like your progress, it's solid and well studied in the architecture.
  12. I come from a lot of huge projects frankly, most notably The Last Era, Veiled Stars and Scaedumar for Mount and Blade. Now I'm currently working on Whiterun's expansion, and it isn't just a couple of trees and other worthless stuff added. New districts, new people, new traders, expanded lore, dark secrets and hell, just a general feel of what a bustling and Nordic city should feel like.
  13. Maybe when each one of us finishes his relative projects, why not unite as a team and create a whole overhaul for Skyrim, almost to Beyond Skyrim's way of doing things. More farm types, expanded cities, ghost villages (as in abandoned because of the war, restorable by quests) etc.
  14. Very nice indeed. I would suggest though in adding some arched walls (those with the covering) since I assume a lot of players like me enjoy's walking around the battlements of their castle. Check Castle Dunkerlore mod by Centurion for Oblivion, or Almgard for a better inspiration of a lore friendly location.

  17. If you'd like to do something, I'm looking for somebody who can model a two floor whiterun building from the existing meshes. I'm overhauling all the city. Your project, if you do it alone, is pretty daunting.
