  1. The current mod is in alpha status, currently at the end of designing the exterior and heading out to design the interior of the 105 new interiors that have been added. By the 4£, Whiterun is one of the few cities of Skyrim that have kept growing in wealth and inhabitants even during the recent issues that have plagued the Imperial Province of Skyrim. Built at the very start of Nord colonization of Tamriel, Whiterun has been consired a very rare jewel, a rich and bustling trade capitol of the North usually compared to the Imperial City in the offer of services and administration. From Tiber Septim's enthronement, the city also got the nomination of an Imperial Plenipotentiary that would usually govern the province from the Ivory House, a fortified manor within the Higher Plaza, and it is usually given to this time period that Severio Malata, an Imperial Legion engineer, designed and improved the battlements after some design that he tested on the forts in Morrowind. By the middle of the Third Era, several illustrious men and women dwelled within the city, including Barenziah, Pelagius the Mad, Emperor Uriel V and his sons, and the late family of Jarl Ragnar, the fabled Jarl that died alongside the Emperor during the Excpedition on Akavir. During the Imperial administration of the city, the settlement has flowered and prospered through the years, with commerce going as far as the Summerset Isles and Anequina, or by some tales, even Esroniet in the far away parts of the Padomaic Ocean - taxes, while they may be high compared to other cities of Skyrim, as not an issue for its population, since they have a sense of public goodsense. The Imperial Census and Excise Office located within the Ivory House, would usually collect taxes each week from the various activities and services that the town has to offer. By nowdays, Whiterun has to offer the illustrious dining setting of the Bannered Mare, a place that is known to be frequented even by the Jarl himself, or if one may be part of the beastfolk, there's always the Drunken Huntsman. For the middle class, there's Talos' Respite, close to the Higher Plaza, where one may enjoy some fine Cyrodillic Wine. For the lower classes there are a few taverns outside from the town walls, that offer both a good bed free of bugs and a hot meal. Commercial activities within the city walls include a high-end clothier, two weaponsmiths, one hailing from Hammerfell, while the other one being a known local. There's an armorsmith as well in town, now utilizing the Imperial mined ore to keep his prices low and export to the whole province. There's also a baker, a butcher, an alchemist, an enchanter hailing from the Chorrol, a healer and several trainers that are available in offering their services at the Nimegen Tradehouse, in the Talos Plaza. The outside of the city and its economy runs around mead production and grape harvesting with which they make a fortified drink called Nodder, a highly alcoholic beverage that some say may even turn trolls away if some were to breath it in their faces. Security within the town is in part divided between the Whiterun Guard, and some mercenary horsemen that Whiterun has contracted since the past Oblivion Crysis, the Dark Knights, or for some, the Crimson Guard, due to the color of their tabards that remind all their origin, from the foggy reaches of Colovia. While the Whiterun Guard usually patrols within the city walls and its premises, the Crimson Guard is actually taking part within the Civil War, actively hunting Stormcloak rebels and brutally charging them on horseback, their preferred way of combat, They are considered brutal, but efficient in doing their job, and all the holds are unlikely to get hostile against the Jarl of Whiterun when he was a very effective fighting force like that. The Imperial Legion on the other hand, usually patrols only the upper part of the town, and during the night they stand guard of the Ivory House, the seat of the Imperial Plenipotentiary. If you'd like to know more though, you'll have to explore the city, dear visitor.
  2. Looking for somebody good with texture making. I need some signage done for the shops and other tidbits in the city. Please share between modders that you know!
  3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2vOJQ4UuhU&feature=youtu.be Actually, there is colour. The only thing is that I had to respect Bethesda way of design, so I reverted back to the brown plains of Whiterun instead of my green concept. Changed a lot of textures as well with AmidianBorn's.
  4. Historic Whiterun Lore-friendly City Expansion Mod https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4nTVJZq4bQ&feature=youtu.be Introduction to the Lore Skyrim's history is mostly that of the Nords. The Nords believe the sky, Kyne, breathed life into them at the summit of the Throat of the World, which is now considered the tallest mountain in Tamriel (the Red Mountain was acknowledged as the tallest before its eruption during the Red Year). While historians tend to portray Ysgramor as the first Nordic settler of Skyrim, ushering in concurrent waves of immigration from Atmora, this is not the case. While their exact origins are unknown, the most widely accepted theory is that the early Nedic peoples (a now extinct culture) settled in Skyrim after arriving from Atmora well before the arrival of Ysgramor, and from there spread to the rest of Tamriel. In ancient times, Skyrim was ruled by the malevolent Dragon Cult. This early society revolved around the worship of dragons through intermediaries known as dragon priests, who ruled as gods above men. Sometime in the late Merethic Era, the mythical Dragon War saw the overthrow of the Dragon Cult when Alduin, Akatosh's firstborn, was defeated atop the Throat of the World. The veneration of animals gods was eventually replaced by the Eight Divines. The many mountain ranges in and around the province resulted from unknown cataclysms in the Dawn Era. The only known relic from this time is the Skyforge, an ancient, powerful, and still-active forge built into the living rock in modern-day Whiterun. Who built it remains a mystery, but the Elves feared it, and this led the invading Atmorans to claim it for themselves. The Aldmer and Snow Elves occupied Skyrim until the late Merethic Era, when the final wave of Nordic immigration from Atmora, led by Ysgramor, finally established Nordic supremacy in modern-day Skyrim.Settlers from Atmora crossed the Sea of Ghosts and made landfall here many times, often clashing with those who had already established themselves. These early settlers called the land "Mereth", after the Elves that roamed the untamed wilderness. While the Nedic peoples were generally peaceful, the arrival of Ysgramor and the proto-Nords sparked a long, antagonistic chain of conquests that ultimately expelled the Elves from Skyrim. The instigating spark of conflict was the infamous Night of Tears, where the Elves attacked the human settlement of Saarthal. According to Imperial scholars, the Elves realized that this newer race could outpace their relatively stagnant own. Others posit that the human inhabitants had discovered a powerful artifact, the Eye of Magnus, that the Elves desired. Nonetheless, Ysgramor escaped the carnage, returning to Skyrim with his now legendary band of Five Hundred Companions, slaughtering the Elves and establishing man as the foremost race in Skyrim. Ysgramor's clan expanded their territory, and it continued to expand and contract by winning and losing territories in Morrowind and High Rock during the First Era. Elven rule of Skyrim is thought to have ended under the reign of King Harald (1E 143 - 1E 221), though pockets of Snow Elves hid away in the wilderness. It is during King Harald's rule that Whiterun is known to have been divided into four districts: the Plains District, used as a marketplace where all the merchants, stalls and inns are located; the Old District, as one of the most old parts of town, where the entrance to the Vaastefold Mine is located; the Wind District, used as a residential area; and the Cloud District, where the palace of Dragonsreach is. The area used to be referred to as the "Imperial City of Skyrim", before it underwent several acts of chaos, including a dynastic feud, attacks by Hörme bandits and frost trolls, and a series of annihilating winters of alternating floods, droughts, and fires. During 3£ 221, Jarl Kettilson II and his advisors lowered all the taxes to the inhabitants of the city. While this choice had an unfortunate effect on the city's treasury, the fortunate consequence was that many foreign merchants began to take advantage of the excellent economic and administrative situation to import and export goods of primary necessity throughout the Empire. From a small population, which suffered from the Great Plague of 2£ 881, it was that toward the Oblivion Crisis the entire region began to record new migrants and new families moving into the walls of the Great City of Ysgramor. Like many towns in the northern border area of the Empire and its and adjacent regions, Whiterun suffered from the War of Succession, including a devastating siege from Jarl Sigfrid the Black of Riften who burnt the town in 2£ 107. By 2£ 312, Jarl Harald III of Solitude, the acting High King, demanded and received tribute from the town in order for them to be spared a similar fate. In 2£ 346 the town was sacked by unknown bandits. By 4£ 5, a census done by Legate Caius Veram, the acting commander of the III Legion, noted that the population had been growing costantly for the last 350 years, and it is an ideal recruiting ground for the Imperial Legion. Features (Added as of now) - A completely redesigned city - Featuring over 13 new traders, all of which have their own trade - Guards have names, and they have their own homes outside the city walls - Being thane of the city, you can improve it - Dynamic prosperity - One new tavern, the Black Cat - Olamund, the Barber - Census and Excise Office - Player and NPCs pay taxes for residing in the city (Taxes are paid to Proventus Avenicci) - Rentable house 1 week / 2 weeks / 2 months / 4 months - New exterior - Each NPC has a job - New district - New outside appearance - Barenziah's House (Located on the Marketplace) Looking for support, and for feedback. 5. Not all mods need to be lore friendly. Are anime mods lorefriendly? Yet they are here. Keep doing your great work, OP. I really like it. Maybe it could be a curse bestowed on the Dragonborn for misusing his Thu'um.
  6. "Stop! You didn't paid the rent." - just a funny thing that passed in my mind. The floor idea is nice. Since milking money becomes easy after awhile, increasing house buy prices would make apartments useful. As in the house of Solitude costs 65.000 septims and an apartment in Whiterun costs 350 septims each week. Villages would costs less of course, and this would make the player live for a while in villages as well. So, if you like city life, pay 350 septims per week, or move to lets say, Kynesgrove and pay 150 septims per week for a full farm, with the only issue that you are far from specialised vendors and people.
  7. How should I renavmesh Falkreath? Should I sink the old navmesh in the ground and work from there (to avoid errors and other stuff derived from deleted navigation paths) or should I delete and manually remake it?
  8. Who should sell the apartment right to the player, for lets say, Whiterun? I thought of having someone evict the player if he does not pay in time the NPC. A uniquely voiced guard NPC should be perfect. A funny thing if the player is evicted is to have the cell reset, so he may lose everything as in the owner NPC sold everything.
  9. Did not have enough time to work on it these days. Since I'm busy between our little project and work. Falkreath is on a break for now.
  10. Falkreath - WIP http://i62.tinypic.com/5wyu7t.png http://i60.tinypic.com/2r76ofa.png Falkreath is always about death, now I ensured the cemetery reflects lore perfectly. You can find the graves of many famous nords here, with some Imperials alike. One just to mention, is that of Cuhlecain's, brought back from Cyrodiil after his rather fast demise. http://i61.tinypic.com/2m43cyr.png
  11. I've reworked Falkreath. Currently working on the navmesh. Refer to first post as usual for a sneak peak.
  12. Nobody forces you to play with a script-heavy mod. If scripting is correctly done, then there's no problem whatsoever.
  13. Could possibly be your VGA drivers. I had a similar problem with some old Catalyst drivers. Or it could be a missing redist. My guess are the drivers.
  14. Take your time. There's no hurry. Quality work first.
  15. Unfortunately I have to expand everything to accomodate all the necessary things. Different activities and such. I'm currently looking for some good dancing animations for a future brothel in Windhelm for the Stormcloaks. Also: I've started to work on your heightmap. :pirate:
