Someone has to know something about this issue...
-
No one? :c
-
Even with every mod disabled, I am having this issue. Googling this issue, I have only found one proposed solution to change a frequency in my sound settings, and that did not work. (I've tried every setting). NPC's have no dialogue/Do not speak/Lack voices, and the game speeds through their subtitled text, as if it was only a second long. My voices BSA is still in my data folder, and a quick poke around with a BSA browser allowed me to test some of the files, and they are all working just fine, no silence.
This only started happening recently. I haven't had any kind of recent update to my sound card drivers before or when this occurred, and even updating them in attempt to fix this issue didn't work. I'm not sure what's wrong. :c

It would definitely be a welcome addition. Too many times I've seen comment sections on Morrowind mods wasted with 'LOL I THUT THIS WAS 4 OBLIVION SORRY KEWL MOD THO', and categories for Morrowind mods are a bit lacking. It's a memorable game and deserves all of the love it can get.

I hope this script gets refined so we can make better use of it. Seems a shame we can't.

When you finish UV mapping it, if you need anything textured, I would be happy to lend a hand.

I hate to be "that guy" but you may have a physical defect in your Video RAM or RAM. If Skyrim isn't the only recently-released game which causes unexplained crashes to occur than you may consider replacing your RAM followed by your Video Card. And try RAM consistency checks/RAM swapping, etc.
Its a reshipped desktop that just ran through a series of checks by the guy who built it. As well as checks done by myself to find any defects with the parts, no issue there...
The only other game that crashes is Borderlands, though thats simply because i havent bothered to go through the fixes yet with that game, like the Runtime C++ Error.
Perhaps that is a possibility, what you suggested, but I am just having a hard time accepting that in spite of my checking as well as factory checking is all. :V

64-bit Windows 7 here, i5, 4GB, ATI HD 5770
I started getting frequent crashes last weekend - mostly CTDs, but also a few black screens and BSODs. Not only Skyrim kept crashing after a few seconds of gameplay, but also EVE Online, which usually runs fine with 2 game clients open, and even FireFox.
Tried updating the graphics drivers - this at least let me play EVE again. Tried cache file verification - this just led to the Skyrim launcher CTDing. Tried running the TESV.exe as administrator - that let me play for a while.
Last night I had another CTD after which the launcher would instantly crash every time. This morning, trying to run the exe as administrator again, I had 2 BSODs in close succession, each giving memory management as the cause.
So I ran windows memory diagnostics, which told me I had a hardware failure. Installed and ran memtest... and sure enough, one of my RAM modules failed on the first test.
I'm currently waiting for a replacement - and hope that this will sort it.
First of all sorry about my english.
My Skyrim works perfectly, but i have a strange CTD. I´ll try to explain it.....
When i get killed starts to load the last saved game. If the saved game is in the same zone that i got killed I always have a CTD
It doesn´t happen in interiors........only in exteriors. Always!!
Any Ideas???
This is NOT a CTD thread. We're all sorry you're having problems, since we are as well, but you are in the wrong place.
So I have a fairly decent PC i just got out of the box and cant play skyrim.
I have gone through the following steps to troubleshoot any problems, so please dont suggest what I have been reading for the past 2 days straight x_x;
(I own the retail PC version btw)
-Validated the steam cache files
-Updated Drivers(yes all of them)
-Updated my mobo
-Downloaded the new 4gb.exe for skyrim
-Tried the "sound" fix by setting to 44100
-Tested settings on default High, then to low
-Took off Shadows
-No AA settings are applied
-Tried Windowed Mode, no dice there (When i do, the key thing to note is I lag as well as I am stuck in the wagon inside the driver; happens all the time if that helps)
-Ran a DxDiagnostic and everything checks out great.
-Nvidia graphics card IS the video card my game is reading from
I cant get through a single moment of gameplay without an errorless desktop crash. On the rare occasion I get 3 seconds of gameplay THEN a crash, always at the first loading screen.

Hopefully someone can make sense of this massive wall of text. :c
When you say a desktop crash, do you mean you entire system is forced to perform a hard system restart?
The thing is, I am not sure if I can call it a system crash anymore, because the system stability seems to have fixed itself over the course of my experimentation with a number of troubleshoots.
I believe now, what I am suffering from is simply the CTD errors, but I felt that I had enough reason to post my problem here because I had received total system failure a few times.

I seem to have found the log file created by 4gb.exe.
I have no idea how to proceed from this point, so forgive me if its obvious how to correct my problem.

I also want to point out that I cannot locate the Crash/Bug Log that the newest 4GB.exe file is supposed to create after random crashes. I want to provide you all with that info as well, but I simply cant locate that either. Help with that would be appreciated too. :)
Yeah this is beyond frustrating. Especially when I have the specs to run the game on High by default. :b
I toned it down and yeah still nothing, obviously.
I just cant fathom how my brother's M11x Alienware was able to load it up, no tweaks or special .exe mods, and suffers almost no crashes the night we got the game. Still runs great for him, so jelly.
Solutions not work at100%
Go in this topic:
http://www.thenexusf...ete-pc-crashes/
or go to the official Bethsda forum
and join the many people. In this way we raise the possibility of introducing the solution in the next patch
Bad link btw, but i assume its the thread with 59 or so pages.

Thank you ahead of time before you tackle this issue, I am storing 2 days of complete frustration up from the crash issues and hope you can help me fix it quick. :)
So I have a fairly decent PC i just got out of the box and cant play skyrim.
I have gone through the following steps to troubleshoot any problems, so please dont suggest what I have been reading for the past 2 days straight x_x;
PC specs:
Hopefully someone can make sense of this massive wall of text. :c

It doesn't appear to, but that would be a handy feature to add.

I said it the first night, and I'll say it again. This is a great idea, and I'll be doing this.

Maybe start a new topic suggesting something new rather than debating if negative endorsements should be removed? It seems clear they're not coming back anyway.
I'm not arguing for negative endorsements, but some people did make a good point about it serving a purpose as a warning. I had a suggestion in that thread. I know everyone keeps saying to read through every page of the comments (Which go into the hundreds on bigger mods!) if you want to find out about problems, but it would be so much more convenient with a simple system like this. A little button with a number beside it. Just reporting bugs. Not criticism, or negative feedback. Just as you could report an abusive comment, you can report a non-bug related post in there. And it would be located near the endorsements button, where everyone can easily access and view them.
Maybe both sides can be appeased by the addition of a feature that isn't called a negative endorsement, but still allows a way for people to share problems with the mod in plain sight for the casual viewer. The bug report idea is nice, There could be a little exclamation mark and a number next to it like endorsements. Each report would say something like "This messes with so and so's quest dialogue" "Conflicts with such and such mods", or "object is floating over such and such location". Allow the author to leave a comment on each report. The author could say something like "I am making a patch for this soon" "Thanks for the info, This will be fixed in next version" and so on. It wouldn't be a negative endorsement, and it would waaaaaaaaaaaay easier than sifting through a sea of comments like "cool mod". -

But then that's what comments are generally used for.
But those aren't in plain sight. Many comments are praise, asking for help, requesting something of the modder, etc. Bug reports can be, well, bug reports. They are informative and should be in plain sight of both the modder, and the downloader.

I don't mind either way, I am just hoping the default male underwear doesn't look like a nasty soiled sumo diaper this time.

Posting here because I woke up today and my install had disappeared too and this is where google brought me. No reference to it in my start menu, no longer an icon on my desktop or taskbar. The folder is just gone. It was present about 8 hours ago, hadn't made any changes or installed any new mods. I think the only thing I might've done was open up the creation kit to peek at some esps, but I didn't save anything. Had to kill the ck task because it hanged on close. Security programs haven't reported anything.
