  1. It's a good idea, for sure, but there are just too many reasons why it wouldn't work. First of all, the Gamebryo engine just doesn't have the physics range that Valve's Source engine does. Another reason is that I doubt you could script a portal in Gamebryo to work on contact, let alone to have it work by fluidly moving you from one position to another. That's not including the possibility of the game wanting to load every time you used a portal. I do agree with you, though. It would be awesome to get something like that working, but Gamebryo is just too archaic an engine to code something like that. Even if I'm wrong, I just don't see it being possible in New Vegas.
  2. Shameless self-promotion, I know, but I've made a mod based around Clint Eastwood which adds The Man With No Name's outfit and two retextured revolvers. I don't know if they'll be of any interest to you, but they're there if you want them. http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40238
  3. Adoniis, http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39130 An Open World - The invisible wall remover you're looking for.
  4. Funny you should mention that. There are two mods which add ponchos to the game, and have been for quite some time. One is my own, which is a Clint Eastwood western outfit, which is found here: http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40238 And there's one which does as you say, and adds a number of ponchos to the game which can be worn as separate articles of clothing. It can be found here: http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39912 The file you want is listed under "Optional files".
  5. If you have the patience for it, you can adjust the ironsights by extracting the pistol's mesh using the FO3 archive tool (It's easy enough to find), opening it in NifSkope and fiddling around with the SightingNode node. It's fiddly work, though.
  6. Well, a long time ago I made a Clint Eastwood outfit and pistols pack for NV. I was right proud of myself for a while, but then I began noticing that whenever the character does anything but look any lower than dead ahead while running, I could see the outfit bobbing in and out of my first person view. I can't understand why this is - There are armors more protrusive and bulky than the poncho or the Ranger Vest Outfit I based it on, such as any and all the power armors. Examples are here: http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o62/pyrojesus/ponchoclip1.jpg?t=1302750089 http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o62/pyrojesus/ponchoclip2.jpg?t=1302750089 I hope someone can tell me what the heck is happening. I had the same problem to some extent with the Ranger Vest outfit, with the scarf and vest clipping into view. Things with this mod were going alright and I thought it might be a problem only I was getting, but someone recently gave me feedback stating that the clipping issues were terrible. I'm sure they can't mean third person; there is some minor clipping on the back there, but it's really not -terrible-. Anybody who wants to test the mod or some adjustments themselves can find it at http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40238. Thanks to anybody who can help.
  7. [Edit] Ignore this post. I missed the obvious solution of what majinshinsa posted below me - Go with his answer.
  8. It's a good idea, make no mistake. But, as you say, this kind of mod would require time - vast amounts of it - and it would require a complete overhaul of the game. It wouldn't be Fallout New Vegas by the time it was done with. Too many of the elements of the core gameplay would have to be removed. Quests that relate to any modern/futuristic technology would have to be removed or remain uncomfortably out of context, anything that takes place in modern building would similarly be without context or have to be removed completely, and every spoken line of dialogue would have to be re-recorded to fit the altered setting, and the most drastic change would be the massive conversion of the Vegas Strip. Altering that to fit in with an old west setting would be an almost Herculean task. I'm sorry to dampen the mood, but in the end, it wouldn't really be the same game. It sounds like you want an enormous, open-world Wild West RPG. Red Dead Redemption is pretty much just that.
  9. I don't know how to pull off what you're trying to do, but the Destruct Data tab doesn't work for worn armor. While you're wearing it, no visual effects will take place - The damage will only show on it when it lays idle as a world object.
  10. Kellias, I believe the Tailor Maid mod includes at least two Merc Charmer outfit variations without the stockings. http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36660 I hope that helps. I'm not entirely sure, but I think it's right.
  11. Hey now, I resent that! :P I always do it properly and, more importantly, differently. Going in alone and using the ballistic fist certainly makes it rewarding, if only because of the bonus awesome points.
  12. On the left is Queen Brahne. The picture on the right is the "Eye" of the airship Invincible. FF6 was the best - Kefka was a way, way better villain than Sephiroth. FF9 is a close second, then FF7. FF12 was actually really good, in my opinion: It just seems to get a lot of stick because its plot is based around politics instead of angst and saccharine moral lessons about teamwork and the importance of friends.
  13. What's the problem, exactly? I'll try to help as best I can.
  14. They have the zombie apocalypse mod, yeah, but all that does is add a bunch of zombies to the world. I like your idea, Killjoy360. I had the same idea a long time ago, but swiftly discarded it because I lack the talent to make it a reality. I hope somebody with the ability takes this idea on board, because it would be an amazing total conversion.
  15. Somebody made a separate thread asking about this interface mod a few days ago: http://newvegasnexus.com/imageshare/images/1281624-1297533555.jpg I recognised it, but I can't find it anywhere - Which is a real frustration considering I'm now really interested in it myself. Does anybody else know what mod it is?
  16. Van Graff's. Every time I play through and need money, I do Cass's quest and just clear out the Silver Rush. Thousands of caps' worth of energy weapons in there.
  17. From what I hear (though I haven't tried it myself), you need to make sure the weapon has a node called "##SightingNode". You can add it easily enough by just copying and pasting it into nifskope from a weapon that already has it. Adjusting the ironsights is a pain, though. It takes a long time and there's no way of doing it besides using Transform>Edit on the node in Nifskope, then checking it in-game, adjusting it, and repeating as necessary.
  18. I sure will! I don't know if I'll catch the thread in time, whenever it might be, but I'd be so happy to be able to help. Just in case I miss it... D'you think you could shoot a message my way when you begin work? I'd be all too grateful if you would. Thanks for getting back to me!
  19. I didn't realise just how many I used 'til I came to type out this list. Active Wasteland (makes use of things like coffee machines and toggle-able lamps) OWNB - Open World (invisible wall remover) Pip-Boy Remover Few Poses More - NV Edition Perk Every Level Centered 3rd Person Camera URWL NV (it's a window and text size mod, but I can't find what it stands for) Reload Bug Fix (for guns which reload like the hunting shotgun and cowboy repeater) Playable veteran ranger armour Wurst's Barber Machine NV Clinic Impant Delimiter Tailor Maid - NV DK's Caucasian Race (female face texture) Neunen's Usable Cigarettes New Vegas Bounties The Man With No Name pack (my own mod, I'm a huge Clint Eastwood fan) Electro-City Imaginator Nevada Skies Whew, I'm glad that's over.
  20. Hey, I don't know of how much help I can be, but I absolutely LOVED New Vegas Bounties I. My skills are limited to minor retextures, but if I can be of -any- help at all, I'd actually be beyond honoured to do so. I don't have much in the way of a portfolio, but this image pretty much sums up everything I've done. All textures involved were edited by my own hand - The exception is the poncho texture, which I made from scratch (The model credit goes to Lexton). http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/images/40238-1-1297364486.jpg Like I say, I don't know if I'd even be of any use to you (at all), but thanks for giving this a look-over, at least.
