I followed the instructions according to the article: updated NMM to the newest update, had all my mods restored, made sure all my mods were checked, then started up the game. Once I started up a save game, my PC would CTD, even if I chose new game. If I read correctly (don't know if I read it from bethesda.net forums or here), you need to disable any UI mods, in my case, it would be Pleasant UI. Once done, started up my game again, and Viola! Game loaded up!

I had played on Survival before without the beta (1.4). My save game changed the difficulty from survival to very hard. You will get notified that you can change the difficulty back to survival.

Update: I just tried enabling Pleasant UI and it crashes. Once removed the game works.

My plugins.txt has an asterisk before every line (not added by me, more than likely by NMM). I got Fallout 4 Configuration Tool running with "Set INI to Readonly after saving" turned on.

So far my game loads without any issues and I hope it stays that way.
smdursoii wrote: Thank you for the explanation!! Was having exactly the same problem until I disabled my ui mods and now I'm back in action. Also having issue of mods being disabled each time I play. My plugins.txt is set readonly, but I will give the Fallout 4 Configuration Tool a shot with that option enabled. Ty again

mindcrime02 solution worked for me finally after trying everything suggested on here. What I noticed with mine tho is that the archive invalidation was not working at all. This tool helped turn that on which made all my mods turn on. However there was another problem I noticed, the ini files in the documents folder aren't being read at all if you enable mods within fallout 4's menu. I have custom fov so I could immediately tell when I tried starting a new game during my trial and error process. Plus there's a new 'mods' folder in the main directory. Whatever bethesda updated they royally effed up all custom settings in the ini files. At least the game boots...

I tried doing this and now it crashes before the menu even loads.

I don't need more aggravation in my life so I uninstalled Fallout 4.

I'll wait for Bethesda to stop with the bs, decide how they're going go forward with it and get the game to a more reliably playable state.

Hey All.

So I had the issue where each time I loaded Fallout 4 it would require me to manually activate my mods one at a time in their mod menu. (Whoever in Bethesda designed that should be shot)

So of course that made playing the game a hassle especially if you run with a lot of mods. (At my peak I have had 100+ running at one time)

So I did some research and found a previous work around that was broadcasted by Gopher.

Follow the steps he outlines in this video and your mods will be active when you actually load your save file and/or start a new game.

Hold the shift key and click the on the first and last mod in the list and then press space, only the selected mods will be enabled together all at once

Hopefully we can turn all of this annoyance with Bethesda's bullshit in a positive direction: push for a brand new engine, which could look a s#*! ton better, and run a s#*! ton better, among other stuff. They got a LOT of money from Fallout 4, they have the resources. C'mon Bethy, make a great game! :D

Need help !

I updated my fallout 4, got the newest script (f4se) and everything, but now when I start up fallout then press continue, the game bar just stays at the same spot (about 25% loaded) then just sits there. Everything else moves, like the tips and rotating picture but it just loads forever, whats up with that?
