  1. Hello. I am fairly new to XCOM modding so apologies for any incorrect assumptions. How does the order of TPF plugins work in Texmod? For example if there are two TPF packs that modify the same texture and both are loaded into Texmod, will one take priority over another? Does it depend on the order they are sorted in Texmod? I'm asking, as I'd like to use New Textures for SHIV and MEC (Camo version, i.e. "Complete Bundle TWIST AND CAMO V06" file) and also Military Retexture Pack. As far as I'm aware, Camo mod and MRP modify some of the same textures, is this correct? Is there any way I can get it working? I am asking about the order specifically, as on MRP page it states:
  2. There is only 1 line of that dialogue, it's not worth messing with it I think. It's not THAT immersion breaking I IMHO.
  3. Just FYI if someone's running into a similar problem, it was the memory issue. Using Boris' ENBoost solved this.
  4. Hello! I was searching the web and these forums, but couldn't find anything... Do you guys know any good ini tweak guide for FNV, or can you recommend any good tweaks to make the game look/sound/feel better? I have a good PC, I can probably up-tweak some ini settings, but I've never done it for FNV. I found a few that are self explanatory (I have experience with Skyrim tweaking), like: fDecalLifetime bEquippedTorchesCastShadows iMaxDecalsPerFrame iShadowMapResolution etc. - but I don't know what values are safe to use or what else can I tweak, or even in which of the ini's I should tweak them (Fallout.ini or Fallout_Prefs.ini), as many are duplicated. Any guidance and advice would be much appreciated. TIA
  5. Is there any tool like Skyrim Performance Monitor for FNV?
  6. The order in which the colums are laid out in right hand pane is effectively the load order. When your games starts, it will load up the ESP plugins in that particular order, meaning the records from the last plugin loaded will be effective in game. So no, there's no need to edit existing plugins. When a merged patch is created it merges the records from multiple plugins and that is what is loaded up with your game.
  7. Hej Bjorn. Thanks for your reply. My FNV is a fresh, clean install, but I may re-generate the stock ini files just be on a safe side... I didn't think of optimizing the textures, good point that! I use DDSOpt rather than Optimizer Textures. I will optimise vanilla ones, thanks for the tip! I also use NMC Small Pack + Poco Bueno textures. NMC Small is a mix of 1024/512 and it says that Poco Bueno ones are optimised. So I guess they don't require optimisation. I do use 4GB Fallout and NVSE. My system is quite powerful (3.2 MHz AMD Phenom II X6, 8 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, 2GB ASUS 660GTX DirectCU II Top). For Skyrim I manage to run 2K textures on landscape, environment, equipment and characters and I get stable game with good performance - that's with ENBoost. I was thinking of using ENBoost for Fallout to reduce memory use, but I didn't find a setting to disable the graphical features of ENB. In Skyrim ENBoost is controlled via separate ini file, where you can disable graphics, whilst in FNV everything is in enbsettings.ini. I don't know any good ENB to use with FNV Realisting Wasteland Lighting, otherwise I would try to use one - I like good ENB! Thanks for your advice, I will re-generate stock inis and optimise vanilla textures to see if that's going to do any good.
  8. And Falloutprefs.ini Apologies for 3 posts in a row, but the forums engine won't allow for such a lengthy post.
  9. Hi. I'm experiencing CTD in the same area. It happens very often, but not every single time. I only started my new playthrough, enouraged by Gopher's Let's Play. I copied Gopher's build. I use Mod Organizer as my mod manager. I am quite an experienced modder (not a mod author! Well, I created 1 mod for Skyrim, very simple one). My experience comes from Skyrim mostly though, but I understand that FNV is similar. I have an understanding how mods work, I know my way around tools, including BOSS, WryeFlash and FNVEDIT. I am in a middle of creating a custom patch for my mod list at the moment. To reiterate: CTDs happen with and without my patch activated. They also happen randomly every now and then (i.e. when activating VATS or when shooting at someone), but these are rare. I did not play much of the game, just did a few testing runs around Goodsprings. I cannot think of anything that would cause this... I use couple of extra mods that Gopher doesn't use, but nothing that would affect that specific cell. Any advise from more experienced FNV modders would be much appreciated. Only thing I can think of are the ini file settings that could possibly be tweaked for a better stability, but I do not know much about FNV ini files to play with them. Again, any advise is much appreciated! TIA Here's my load order:
  10. Check this thread on STEP forums - may be helpful.
  11. Good move! I'm serious. You've been keeping your Premium services at the same price for so long, we can only say thanks. With ridiculously (in a good way) increased traffic on your sites and all the development plans you will need more funding. Keep you the good work!
  12. I just found a possible fix on RealVision ENB mod page: vertical lines or "interlace" effect, noisy textures set FilterQuality=1 in Skylighting-section of enbseries.ini I'm unable to test it at the moment as I'm still at work though.
  13. I get this when using Real Vision and Unreal Cinema ENBa. Both of them use SweetFX if I'm not mistaken. When I use my friend's ENB preset that uses ENB shaders only I do not get this problem. SweetFX may be possible culprit here. Alas, many other people use those two ENBs and they don't have any problems. I wonder what makes it show only for me and the OP...
  14. I'm having exactly the same problem. Any help would be much appreciated
  15. I really like your (non-profit, anti-corporate) attitude to modding, game market and the direction you intend to take Nexus in. This is the main reason I will continue to support these sites. Another one is the community - it is the most friendly web community I was involved in. Thanks for all your hard work and for creating this amazing web space!
  16. Please ignore this, I totally forgot about Wrye FLASH ;)
  17. Hi guys. I have a problem with running Wrye Bash for more than 1 game. I have Skyrim installed and WB runs fine for that. I have recently installed Fallout NV, however the game was purchased in Poland and installs to '...\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas enplczru' folder. For some reason it is not detecting FNV during installation and I have to use "Extra Folder Location" option. When I then run WB from FNV\Mopy folder it runs for Skyrim anyway. When I select Options > Game, FNV is not on the list. I tried running with -o argument and -g argument, as suggested in Read Me, however this did not work. Can anyone advise how can I get WB working with more than one game? I mod my games heavily and I use Bashed Patch for levelling lists, I can't imagine running FNV witout it!
  18. Thanks mate, appreciate your input. I tried connecting headphones directly to my sound card as opposed to going through speakers' headphones port, but no success. Saying that, my headphones are quite old, so it may be the actual wire... I'll try connecting a different pair. I never thought of that - thanks again! If anyone else could help, I'll be most grateful.
  19. Hi guys. I'm having a really annoying problem with Skyrim. Whenever I play using headphones, after a while I get some crackling sounds, kind of like a white noise. Severity varies - sometimes it's a crack or two and it stops and sometimes it sounds like it's blowing up my headphones and it cuts off whole sound. Sometimes restarting the game helps, but sometimes I need to mess around, i.e. change my sound card mode (more on this later) or even restart my PC... When I play using speakers it also happens but not as often and I seem to be able to play longer before it happens. I have Sound Blaster Fatal1ty Platinum sound card and Creative 2.1 speaker set. For headphones it's usually about 30-40 minutes of gameplay and on speakers it's much longer, sometimes it does not happen at all. My sound card has 3 modes - Entertainment, Gaming and Audio Creation. After turning the game off, the crackling sound doesn't stop, I need to the card's mode - this seems to "reset" the sound and the crackling stops. Although, as mentioned - sometimes it comes back straight away when I switch the mode back to gaming and then the only solution is to restart my PC. I read somewhere that Sound Blaster cards haven't got the best compatibility with Skyrim and that lowering the sound quality helps, so I tried lowering it from 24-bit 48000Hz to 16-bit 24000 Hz, but that doesn't seem to help at all. It's driving me nuts, I've spent long long time sorting out my Skyrim installation (STEP + SkyRe + many other mods) and when I'm finally able to play I get this! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. P.S. All my drivers are updated, I have Windows 7 Home. My system: AMD Phenom 2 6-core 3.2 GHz, ASUS GeForce GTX660 2GB VRAM, 4 GB system RAM.
  20. This was the only quest in my journal, apart from Start Another Life's main quest. I reported it to UKSP team, hopefully they will look at it and test more throughout.
  21. Update: I believe I've found the cause of the issue. It is the vanilla radiant quest: Kill Bandit Leader that was given to my char in Windhelm by Brunwulf Free-Winter. Tested throughout - took me a while, I was gradually increasing number of mods I used originally, each time creating a new character and testing the existing one. As I have SkyRe installed, I could only start testing existing character after I installed SkyRe mod - but I got a CTD at first attempt of loading my Lost Knife Hideout saved game with that character. When testing with new character, that had no the radiant quest in their log I was able to get in and fight the inhabiting bandits with no problems. With a full set of mods I've had installed when I first encountered the issue, the scenario repeated - I was able to create a new character and wander into Lost Kinfe Hideout without any CTDs. The only difference at that point was the radiant quest in my original character's journal. My Skyrim was perfectly fine all this time... Lost half of the day to figure this out! >:(
  22. For all of the unrecognised ones I went with mod authors suggestions. Generally, if I am not sure about the load order of the unrecognised plugin, I just don't use it. I'm going to go with Baseline STEP setup now, which should greatly reduce number of mods in my load, see what happens.
  23. Ah, that last suggestion is very helpful, I'll start there. I am using MO indeed. I've just disabled all the mods and re-enabled them, I want to see if that does anything. I've only noticed the A&P message now, downloading new version now. EDIT: I've posted my BOSS user rules in OP - these are all the ESPs that BOSS failed to recognise.
  24. OK, I am using STEP set up, which are mainly graphical mods - texture replacers (http://wiki.step-project.com/STEP:2.2.1). This is the majority of mods I use. The log I quote is a BOSS log, excluding error messages - there were none. I have 5 or 6 user rules set up for unrecognised mods, mainly for the DLC related patches - I'm pretty sure these are good. As for the spoiler tag, I wanted to do this, but forums seemed to recognise only the opening tag and it ignored /spoiler tag, placing only the first line into the "hidden" spoiler box... (EDIT: fixed now, reran BOSS, included mod notes) Guess I will troubleshoot mod by mod... ::EDIT:: I'm sorry, for some reason HTML coding was included in the OP  Something wrong with forums engine I suppose
