  1. Not quite sure if it's possible to actually do this in a practical way, but have you thought about "hiring" users? testers, spokesmen, live bug-chat (and all sorts of problems). It would of course need to be people who would work for free, maybe give them a discount of premium (or free premium if they were dedicating enough). I did make a suggestion during the december trouble, about adding a server status page with ETA's and current work in progress. It would greatly decrease the overheat of threads and questions in the live chat. Hell, I'd even take care of posting minor updates about what's going on and adding some info like that for free, as long as you have some kind of voice-chat. Takes maybe a few minutes to write a decent official post about it, even though it only takes 20s to explain the ETA and what is currently being worked on. People does not see what happens in the back-end, but if they get a timer (perhaps two timers, one for minimum expected time and one for maximum expected) then they know that something is going on. For the back-end team, it would take a lot of pressure off the lid if people would calm down. A decent "Server Status" page with updated info would help a lot to calm down and think quietly. it would also decrease the recurring questions in the live chat. Shortly, if you need me I'll be glad to help with setting ETA's and posting short info's now and then. I may not be the best candidate for stress/bug-testing or anything, as I have never made any web-based stuff (or mods) - but I do have some experience with leadership.
  2. I really hope the issues related to this site the last few days does not drag down it's reputation...
  3. Forgot to say, but adding an ETA for fixes would also burn down some of the recurring questions in the chat. Even if the ETA is "still looking for the error" people would accept that as a status where you inform you are currently working it out.
  4. One thing that I missed during the server issues was some kind of direct intuitive feedback, having a "Server Status" page or even just some text near the top would help a lot. I believe such a function would decrease the negative feedback as well, seeing as lazy users (/new users/returning users such as me) would not have to guide themselves through the forums to find the news thread. Basically what would be ideal would be to have a *Status and news* button near the top somewhere so that people could get directly to the information. In my opinion that area should optimally contain one list of online/offline servers, and possibly in the same list (or next to) there should be a list of offline/online services (NMM and whatever else). The third (and last) thing available there should be some kind of admin text, possibly the optimal thing would be to have a link to the latest admin news post so that people could give some kind of feedback. It is a bad time to suggest even more stuff, seeing as you already have some problems wrapped around your heads considering the NMM issues, but please give me some kind of response that you have read this when you can. :turned:
  5. So one of the things that bugs me is the fact that I cant check compatibility between different mods. Although the combination of many mods combined may end up being incompatible combined, the option to check if 2 mods is compatible would help a lot and break down time away from the actual modding. My idea is simple, people can add mods that functions with another mod. Specifically, if I want to use one body mod, another mod containing a remaster of all (or most) of the armors in-game, and a 3rd mod with a new armor I can crosscheck if they are individually compatible with each other. What would simply be needed is that users could add the link of another mod, and insert it in some *compatibility filed* and add it to that one mod. When enough users add it as compatible, it is a confirmed confirmed compatible combination. I can keep on going about what issues needs to be taken care of, like when one mod has been updated and the possible problem between the two/three mods that may occur, but I believe you get my point and that you will figure out the balance better then I can (I am after all drunk atm... thank god for those red correction lines under the words). It is a bad time to suggest even more stuff, seeing as you already have some problems wrapped around your heads considering the NMM issues, but please give me some kind of response that you have read this when you can. :turned:
  6. I recently returned after quite a few years away from the site, and just to give you a heads up I am going to purchase a full-time premium membership. I know a few people managing some heavily devoted web services, and I know a thing or two about computers myself, so I must say I feel bad for you guys and what you are going through. Still, you should take all complaints as positive - if nobody missed your service you wouldn't really have a dedicated fanbase :turned:
  7. I appreciate the update, and I believe most people does. The thing is that when users of a website (or any online software, be it games or anything) then people will complain. If you have a service that nobody get's angry about not having full access too, then... Shortly, what I'm trying to say is that complaints should be taken as something positive from the developers, because people get's mad IRL because they want it so much.
  8. In response to post #10411475. #10411755, #10411811, #10411839, #10411853, #10411955, #10411958, #10412022, #10412042, #10412073, #10412111, #10412216, #10412262 are all replies on the same post. Unless it leads to loss of user's current data (load order, mods installed etc.) I can't really see the bad side of updating the NMM. That would of course depend on what takes the longest time (hardest work for you guys) but if you know that everything is fine and how you want it on the server end - maybe just update the beta software? People should be aware that beta means beta, if it was a finalized public release version (1.0 or higher) I would probably have a different opinion.
