  1. I think the idea would be to recreate Sanctuary as a place of safety and commerce. Walled in and protected. Gone are the days of the pristine place that it was. I think that is what was on the mind of the developers anyway. To grow it and thrive as a community effort and to give shelter. Minutemen objective??
  2. usb mouse wired. No batteries. I have mouse up to BS start.
  3. Hi, Ive reinstalled FO3 and the dlc's and played through to Broken Steel Mod start. No problems up to that point. Wake up on bed, but mouse is not present, no control. Reinstalled FO3 and BS. no luck. Can anyone shed some light as to where my mouse would have bugged off to. Because FO3 stopped working on W10, I built another older system up using XP pro, 4gig ram, GTX 9800 1Gig solely for FO3 etc. No error codes, just no mouse.
  4. Win 10 updated last week and I can't start FNV. I've tried a complete reinstall only to find that doesn't work. Updated video drivers, nada. I am at the point in whether I go back to win 7 or just build another comp with win 7 just to play FO series.
  5. Hi, your registry still thinks your game is installed because the registry handlers are still active. In the RUN box on your desktop , type REGEDIT. Open HKey_Local_Machine. Look for "Bethesda Softworks" Right click on that and delete it. Then close Regedit. This gets rid of the install path and you will be able to install afresh. Cheers.
  6. Hi, I had the GTS 250 vid card and that was OK. No issues with it at all. However I still had crashing problems until I installed FO3 in another Dir and not the default install path. You can either copy and paste to a Dir on C:\ , ie; c:/games/Bethesda/ and edit your registry to point FO3.exe to that dir. OR, a complete new install using the custom install option and create a new Dir as above. This worked for me fine. Try it and see. cheers.
  7. Hi, certain vid cards are not compatible with FO3 and yet is excellent with FNV. It pertains to certain Nvidia cards because they cannot be opitimized. So if you have one of those, check the specs of your card to see if it is compatible. another one is the ini tweak is for multicore cpu's and not single. Intel graphics is another cause. there is a patch for that. Just a couple to begin with without knowing exactly what your specs are. Cheers.
  8. Are you starting FO thru Steam? If so, try this. Make a Shortcut to "FO3 Launcher" on your desktop. Found in c:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/Common/FO3 and click on FO3Launcher. My experience with steam FO3 is not a good one. It just would not start going thru steam. So I tried this and it plays no trouble at all. Mods will have to be installed there as well to activate them. Mine is working great. It brings you to where you saved last and hopefully, its alright. Geo.
  9. Hi, Have u tried resetting to Default when startup and Settings menu is where the continue and new commands are? try that.
  10. Hi, What is actually happening? What mods installed if any? also what OS have you? Most times the answer is in the bugs.............. . Are you launching the game in steam? If so don't. Create a shortcut to desktop. My experience with steam and FO3 is not very good. I created the shortcut to FO3 launcher and I've been playing it OK. "C:/Program Files/Steam/Steam Apps/FO3/ FO3Launcher" is the location by memory. Go from there and see what happens. I love the game...cheers
  11. Hi, To create a shortcut to FO3 Launcher in steam, 1, right click on desktop and highlight NEW. 2, click on shortcut, and Browse. 3, scroll to, local Disk ©, click on it. 4, scroll to "Program files" and click. 5, scroll to "Steam" and click on arrow to open DIR.. 6, open Steam Apps file and click on FO3. 7, scroll down till you find FO3 Launcher. 8, click on FO3 Launcher and then click on "OK" You have made a Shortcut to FO3. and it should work fine. OK. Happy Wanderings.
  12. Hi, I believe in keeping it simple. FO3 Steam edition will be a beast if you do not do the right things if installing to win7. Uninstall FO3 completely from your system if you have used the standard install procedure. Re install using "custom settings" and install to for example, c:\games\. Now here is something that has worked well for me and has not crashed since. Also install the official 1.5 FO3 patch. What this does is because the game does not function well with win7 and the patch repairs files to work. Then put the Official 1.7 FO3 patch over the top of that. The game runs really well. After you get out of the vault, install all the official DLC's then and only then, say once you get to Springdale or Megaton. After they activate, and you'll know because messages come up on your screen then you can start installing mods, but be careful as to which ones you use. Do one at a time and not like I did and dumped a whole load on. If you have trouble still. You may have to tweak your FO3.ini file in the "users Dir" of My Games/ FO3. But try this first and see what happens.
  13. hi, I had the same problem and hunted all over for an answer. Tried just about everything and in the end all I had to do was install the official 1.5 patch. That enables certain functions to work that is not included or overlooked by later mods and the 1.7 patch. I'm not exactly sure how it works but it got my game running and with no crashes. Also a couple of mods are running sweet now like "Alton IL" Not a bad game at all, I recommend it to anyone.
  14. Hi, are you trying to download using Nexus Download manager? if so try the " manual download" link to download MOD to your Download folder. Use FOMM to install the mod, not NMM. There is something not right with Nexus Download Manager as I have had the same problem but, it works manually.
  15. Hi, are you trying to download a mod using NMM? If so, it doesn't download from the NexusFO3 site. I download manually to my download folder. Then I use the mod manager to install to FO3. If I have read you wrong then I apologise. But this has been working for me for quite some time now. I also have found NMM faulty and have deleted it and I use FOMM which is easier and not a problem.
