I don't really CARE about Steam and actually enjoy it because the PC really needs a system rivaling XBOX Live and PSN but there's no point in having a SINGLE PLAYER GAME on Steam. I mean what's the point of achievements when there's no value to them? Games like Call of Duty and Team Fortress 2 NEED to be on Steam because of the diverse community that rivals the console online database but single player games should only be on Steam when they are bought on Steam.

Project Purity was created for the sole purpose to create fresh clean water in limitless quantities. From Fallout lore, even the vault purifier was to run out some time. The GECK however could've removed that problem in its entirety. Now that the Tidal Basin is full of water, civilization has a chance to rebuild again without the problem of having to rely on a flawed water purification system that breaks down easily.

From what I can gather from lore dialogue, most ghouls DO NOT become feral. What you mean from that quest is not because they are feral, but because the ghoul leader, Roy, doesn't like the neighbors and Tenpenny doesn't like the ghouls. Then Roy kills Tenpenny(you can see the dead body in the bathtub a day later), and eventually, the guards probably finds out and a war breaks out. The ghouls kill the humans and everything is dandy. But anyways, back to this Feral thing. Most ghouls don't actually become feral unless they turn insane. From what Carol said, the feral ghouls are simply regular ghouls who have gone insane and lost their humanity from the shock and the inability to grapple the fact that they turned into monsters. From also what I can gather, those who are exposed to more radiation have a higher chance to go feral(ex: Nearly all glowing ones in the Capital Wasteland are feral except the disciplined one in the basement for the Holy Water quest.)

Granted but it has a Pyro from TF2 in it and he's not very happy.

Communism is a good IDEA on paper but when actually put into practice, it doesn't work. For a truly perfect society, the very basics of human nature, that was gained through the animal like nature of the past, must be suspended or taken out. If you guys have played Fallout 3, it would have to be like Vault 101 without an overseer. Everybody believes, "You live and die in the Vault" and leaving was never even thought of until the Lone Wanderer and his father left. Same with communism, the media nullifies all traces of the idea and puts idealistic ideas into the mind of the citizens. The only way communism works is if the government is the law while still being non-corrupt. Kind of like a better version of North Korea.

Alright, it's my first RP on this forum so here we go. Rules and Regulations 1. NO GOD MODE. Meaning if you get shot, you would not be able to still fire that AK with perfect accuracy any more. That also means you can't make your character a master at everything. Sure, more than one expert proficiency is alright, like a very persuasive person who also can shoot with very good accuracy. Also...for the love of GOD...DON'T EVER SAY, "I dodged it" or "I blocked it" UNLESS YOU REALLY COULD DODGE/BLOCK IT!! Note...you can't dodge a bullet(unless you moved before the person shot) or block one unless you have power armor for the latter. 2. No controlling any character that isn't your own. Please don't control another player, I know battles between characters can get long but it's for the best to prevent spam and flame. 3. A limit of two characters. If we have more than two, than it would get confusing. One temporary character is allowed but he/she/it better leave after a couple scenes. 4. No killing other player's characters unless given permission by the creator. You can always PM the controller of the character if it's okay or not. 5. No huge scene manipulation in one post. So a huge battle better have some build up and a reason. So if you're in Megaton, don't say, "And then some bum army started firing." No...that just makes YOU a bum. Ambushes are okay but only if the situation is right, i.e: Caravans, traveling, etc. 6. Romance is okay but please, let's follow the Nexus forum rules, shall we? So keep it T rated. Settlements started basic agriculture, allowing Megaton and Arefu to shake hands and become united, creating the first ever alliance between two towns in the Washington D.C area. Super Mutants are at an all time low but Raiders are at an all time high, due to the hundreds of caravans they could ambush for food and water. Prejudice has been developed to an extreme, not for race or skin color, but if you have a mutation or not. After the fall of the super mutants, many mutants became smarter for an unknown cause, possibly due to experimental procedures done by the Institute up north. Due to that, many Brotherhood soldiers employ intelligent Super Mutants to be the tanks of their army while many settlements use Super Mutants as laborers. Many wasters are wary of super mutants and believe them to be "savages" and "unclean" Ghouls are much more accepted now as humans were forced to work with ghouls during the purge on the D.C ruins, which is now infested with raiders. Underworld is now the hub of all ghoul activity and trading, along with it being a huge port in the storm in the Mall, which is still being used as a battlegrounds between the Raiders and Brotherhood. Each major settlement in the D.C area are now in charge of each specific work to benefit the Brotherhood, which became the dominant military and police force in the wastes. Rivet City, the city built out of an old aircraft carrier, now controls all water distributions alongside the Brotherhood. The newly opened Vault 101 became the hub of all technology, not to mention being the "Rich town" of the wasteland. Finally, the Megaton/Arefu alliance controls the largest division of fresh food and agriculture. All these towns are controlled by the Citadel, which has become an unofficial capital to the Capital Wasteland. But with all this goodness, comes a consequence. A new threat looms over the horizon, a band of extremist raiders started to ambush caravans. The four cities suffered constant attacks from the new band of "Old Ways" Wasteland Raider extremists.

Everybody has their own "moral code" that they follow. What one perceives as evil could very well be same stuff different day to another who shares a similar code. My code is that I respect everyone with the benefit of the doubt but the MOMENT somebody attacks me or a loved one, I punish them ruthlessly. That could be considered "evil" by some stretch of the imagination by saints and "forgiveness people" but that is my code and I believe that is the way to live normally. Evil is only within your own narrow views just like it's in my own narrow view that I perceive that respect is a virtue.

A NEW UPDATE. Socialism is one of the greatest ideas of running a country, don't get me wrong. Oh and Michael Moore actually DOES research unlike Fox News who spouts utter BS to those SOB's that enjoy that kind of BS. But what sucks about Socialism is if the government fails at using tax money correctly, then we are screwed. If the rich can afford land with that much property built up, than they can pay 200% more taxes or so. The problem with the Bush administration is the lack of that, equality among the people. By equality, I mean everybody pays THEIR share of their taxes depending on their social status. The only problem with this idea is the definition of poor, middle class, and rich. Mostly, an income per year could solve this problem with something like this(JUST AN EXAMPLE, NOT SUGGESTING ANY REAL NUMBER). $50,000 or Lower, Poor $60,000 - $150,000 Middle Class(remember, the ones at the bottom of this chain would pay less. All depending on money) $150,000+ Rich(remember, a person who gets a million dollars a year doesn't pay as much as a person who gets ten million dollars a year.) Communism is a good idea on paper but when put into practice, total communism is a fail. But this idea is employed by nearly EVERY European country and parts of Asia until idiot politicians removed it. "So by this reasoning if I make something out my business and accrue wealth through my own effort then I should support the poor and indigent just because they are so?" If you make over a million dollars a year, I think you should be able to pay 20-30% of that to the government and have enough to buy that epic Plasma Screen TV with X-Box 360 Elite complete with a copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 :). All kidding aside, this is much better than, "PAY FOR HEALTH CARE WITH YOUR OWN MONEY, WE DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE POOR" The horror movie, Saw VI shows SO many flaws during the tests Jigsaw gives the Health Care official and Sicko shows even more flaws. It's a good movie, since it's directed my Michael Moore, who(thank you)isn't a conspiracy nut and actually DOES research. No...I did not have any positive experiences. I merely observed the psychological aspects of parental guidance through many things. My parents are pretty much military instructors, nothing else. They push me to do well in school and raise me in an unstable environment where I need to make something of myself to get their attention. It's been like that since I was a little kid.

Health Care is worth the extra taxes. Heck, taxes should be like this: If a person is rich, their taxes goes up and if they are poor, the taxes goes down. Enough so that the poor person doesn't get charged much and lives NORMALLY while the rich man gets charged a lot because he has enough money to pay for all that and still live well. Socialism when it comes to Health Care is VERY GOOD.

You are right about the posts below the Fox news thing... Alright, a little off topic but FOX news is by far the most idiotic news(urg...I think I died a little) channel there is. Besides, democratic party is much more equal and socialism with health care is a GOOD THING. But other that that...I completely agree with you on the parts after that. But the "cool" factor before this generation was just about what you wore and less based on criminal activities and more on popularity.

But Vin isn´t old *lol*. No, there nothing wrong with youth today, at least not more that there was with the youth of my time in the 60/70th. My youth were SO polite, we NEVER smoked pot, we NEVER did drugs, and we tend to our schools and got double A´s. BS, you will be dynamic, curious, a daredevil, your self WHEN YOU ARE YOUNG. I recall some of the most revolutionairy hippies from my youth, who today have become managers, company owners, protecters of the society they once despiced. Of cause we see some morons, bullheads and fools, because media thinks it is much more interesting to bring news about gangwars, young robbers, etc. News about young kids that tend to their schools, and behave, don´t sell. Period. That´s why we never hear about those millions of good kids, guys and girls, who are just having a nice life witheout distroying others. Alright, I'm calling you out on this. The youth these days, AKA my peers are worse than before mostly because of the high amounts of gang violence and media spouting very bad subculture within the minds of the developing children. The media is corrupt but not for those reasons. They write what the politicians and world leaders PAY them to write and most of the time, it's just plain propaganda. Fox News is probably the worst out of all of them as everything they spout is utter crap besides maybe weather reports. But either way, the media is not based on "epic stories" it's based on PROPAGANDA. The children that think being "gangster" is cool has been seeped into subculture in the late 90's by MUSIC, TELEVISION PROGRAMS. NOT THE NEWS. That is all.

There's no point in a SINGLEPLAYER game being on a very big board of MULTIGAMING people. I mean, if a game like Modern Warfare or Team Fortress is on Steam, I'm happy. Heck, Valve games should be on Steam because of the regular updates and add-ons but Fallout New Vegas would have no point. Especially since New Vegas would most likely have DLC updates and not packs. NO POINT. I love steam for multiplayer...not this.

RPG...ah yes. I have ABSOLUTELY NO experience in gaming other than just casual gaming and competitive Team Fortress 2 so let me try and break this down for both my sake and everybody else. RPG: Roleplaying Game. In a literal term, roleplaying is when a person takes a role of somebody OTHER than the real person and plays in a non-linear world which was first coined by D&D. Game is well...a game. So the term roleplaying game would mean a player is dropped into a non-linear world with a character that you create or at least control the way YOU want to. (Quick note here: Non-linear does include sandbox games but they don't allow customization or real genuine roleplaying.) So we know what an RPG is so...what makes an RPG a real genuine RPG? Well many things changed over the years and from what I can tell, this is the key points that make an RPG an RPG. 1. Customization - This is a newer function for RPG games but it's individualized RPG games even more. It means you could customize your character either from scratch or from different preset characters. Either way, your character would never have a duplicate unless you're modeling a character from an NPC. 2. A World or Sandbox - For the newer games like Fallout 3 and Oblivion, heck ever since 2000~, the RPG world had a real world that interacted with the player. Such as, if you kill somebody, there will be consequences, whether it be small like in GTA(easy run away) or big like in Oblivion(yes...I don't want that 1000 gold bounty). 3. The ability to play in the shoes of your character - So give your person a personality or a back story. Roleplaying means playing in the shoes of your character...or in Fallout's case, the power armor of your character. So that would mean the ability to create a genuine character that seems very well integrated into the game world. 4. Immersion - Feel like this world is living and breathing with minor details creating a vast and open space that has endless possibilities. Er yeah...

All of these are very good points and I feel like I'm finally discussing a very important topic with INTELLECTUALS instead of the regular morons. Well as a child...or young teen, I'm respectful of certain people and nearly never threw a tantrum and NEVER threw one in a public area when I was younger. Now? Well at best I'm a respectable person and at worst, which is regularly, I'm cunning, deceitful, and manipulating with very ruthless actions. But the difference between me and regular bullies is that I NEVER use my manipulative abilities to everybody. If somebody bullies me, I ruin their life to the point of suicide with an uncaring and malicious attitude and if not, I leave them alone and respect them. Simple as that. "because it's cool to be 'gangsta' and do all the wild stuff." You do not know the half of it. Back when I was five or six, everybody wanted to play the "Cool" stereotype that was set in during the 1990s with the sunglasses and everything. But now, I grow up in an environment where "cool" is swearing in every sentence and being a stereotypical gangster. I shake my head every day and just think, "What happened to this world?" "The media feeds the usual propaganda: be free, be different... you will soon find that even if you are an important part of your child's life, you are still just a single influencing factor." I cannot say anything about CURRENT influences parents have since I'm studying biology in my spare time and not psychology. But I'm an observer and from my observations, I can draw a couple conclusions. Observation 1: Parents have either a strong positive, negative, or neutral influence on children when they are young due to them needing guidance as a little kid. Observation 2: Parents have a drastic LONG term effect on a child in the three courses of possible outcomes listed above. So a very nice set of parents would most likely raise a child who is either nice or happy...or both. Observation 3: Parents will have the strongest affect on a child within their 18 years of guidance. Forget friends, teachers, or whatever, parents would have a VERY strong effect on a child, depending on their course of action. Conclusion: Parents can either make their child a helpful member of society or at least make them capable to live in the society or fail and make their child a druggie/jailbird. But why did I not add friends to my observations? Well because if a parent is influential enough, the friends have little effect on the child. I know that the only person that has more influence than my parents is my :wub: . And that's probably because I have a soft spot for her...sad panda.... Er...anyways, back to my final point for this post. "may easily ruin everything and get the upper hand." Yes...in some cases. If a child was brought up by parents to never trust anybody unless they genuinely trust you back, like I was, the influence of peer pressure is drastically minimized with the downside being mild paranoia. But if a child was not taught the influence of peer pressure BY PARENTS and instead by teachers, they would only get this, "PEER PRESSURE IS THE DEVIL" without knowing what it actually is. That's the problem with the education system, the school spews out propaganda all over the US and it isn't JUST the US either. Nearly every country with a proper education system does that as well. Parents have the biggest impact or none at all. Take your pick.
