  1. Yeah, sounds like Requiem is right up your alley. It has all the Munchkinesque charm of D&D with none of the Doritos stains on your character sheet or crawling around on the floor looking for your lost dice. Just don't try to use any other mods in conjunction with it; it conflicts with pretty much everything. Personally I hated it, but I also hated every incarnation of D&D and all the games I've played based on its rulesets.
  2. OK, I've been playing around with both Wet and Cold and Face Masks of Skyrim and it appears the issue is tied to the facemasks using equipment Slot 44. If you try FMoS with the optional Slot 55 plugin it works just fine, but the FMoS Slot 44 version behaves exactly like Wet and Cold. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to switch the W&C masks to use Slot 55 yet. I'll keep working on it, but my TES5Edit/CK skills aren't great. No promises.
  3. Just rebuilt my Skyrim game and am running into the same issue. Will let you know if I figure out a solution.
  4. I've been using FXAA Vanilla Enhanced since I discovered it and have been supremely happy with it. Performance impact is minimal (2-3 FPS on a moderately crappy desktop), and the appearance is both understated and tasteful. I haven't found an ENB setup yet that I'd even consider switching to, and I've tried a good dozen of them.
  5. Just ran into this and tracked it down to SIZE DOES MATTER. Was in the process of rebuilding my game after getting DG+HF and had a small number of mods installed so it was fairly easy to pinpoint. Not sure if you guys are using that mod (or something similar), but reverting to version 1.9 fixed the issue for me. Best of luck.
  6. Thanks for pointing that one out. It has a few quirks, but nothing I'm unwilling to put up with. Seems to work just fine with Enhanced Camera, at least from my initial testing.
  7. Addendum to this: I recently discovered Skyrim - Enhanced Camera, and it's everything I hoped the other two first person mods would be. Namely: Functional. There's an .ini file you can mess with if you want to tweak stuff, but it works correctly and reliably right out of the box. Just install it and go. Best immersion mod since Frostfall made it stupid to walk around Antarctica in your underwear.
  8. Here's my must-have list: Deadly Dragons + Dragon Combat Overhaul +SKREEE (10% version) - Dragons should not be dime-a-dozen loot pinatas. You should "loot pinata" in your pants when you hear one coming.Follower Trap Safety - Reloading because Lydia is an idiot it not immersive gameplay.ImmersiveUI_Lockpick Plus (the base version) + Minimal HUD (requires a lot of dinking to get set up) + No More Key Prompts - I use a few others, but using these three can almost entirely remove all the on-screen clutter Skyrim forces you to put up with.No Killmoves - No Killbites - No etc., etc., etc. - Reloading because Bethesda said so is not immersive gameplay.Realistic Jump Height and Damage (the 400 version, I think) + Realistic Ragdolls and Force + Realistic Run Speed - These together make you not Superman.SILENT Skyrim + Smooth Blade Draw and Sheathe - These two remove almost, if not all, of the annoying bonks, boinks, dinks, and other bad-standup-comedy rimshots that happen whenever you take any action in Skryim. Oh, and the swords no longer sound like you're doing a pickscrape with a jackknife when you draw them.Skyrim Redone - Overhauls so much stuff I can't even begin to describe it. I'm stuck using 0.99.16 (the last pre-DLC version), but I'm sure the newer versions are just as good. I did have to make a few edits (read: completely rebalance weapons, armor, races, etc.) to fine-tune things to my liking, but I'm fussy like that.SkyTEST - Animals behave like animals. Most of the time, at least. Sometimes they behave like treasure chests that you have to whack a few times to open, but it's still better than vanilla.SM Essential Player - See Follower Trap Safety and No Killwhatsits above. I use the "essential death only" setting. I'm sure that someone somewhere thinks turning into a ghost and having to fight your way back to your own corpse so you can loot your gear off it is a great idea, but I never played Everquest (or Ultima, or whichever game started that garbage), so I have no nostalgia for it.Warburg's 3D Paper Map - Amazing how much difference this makes. Plus it looks neat as hell when you scroll around it. Looks 3D when it's moving, 2D when it's not. Freaky. On the first-person mods: I've tried both of them (Immersive First Person View and The Joy of Perspective), and both were pretty buggy and/or inconvenient to use: Don't ride a horse. Don't shoot a bow. Don't play a male. Don't like the default FoV. I'd love to use them (Oh, how I miss 3rd Person Animations in 1st Person View from Oblivion), but I'm not willing to put up with their downsides just so I can see my own toes.
  9. Personally I'd recommend just emailing Bethesda and asking their permission to use their material. Explain what you're doing, what assets of theirs you intend to use and how, and be absolutely up front and accurate about it. They obviously support fan-made material at a company level, so I'd wager you have a fairly decent chance of getting a green light. If not, at least you covered your ***.
  10. You're right. She looks like she belongs back in school. Damn you kids and your summer vacations... *waves cane* On topic: OP, allow me to direct you to Proporsia: How To Fix Your Ugly Face. Out of the three, your friend's character (top right) is easily the most well-proportioned. She gets my vote. The bottom right isn't bad, but has some flaws. Yours the eyes are too wide-set and the nose is too short (vertically, that is; should extend down closer to the lips) and unnaturally narrow. She's by no means the worst-looking character I've seen here (there have been some heinous assaults on the concept of "human beauty" floating around here), but she's not the best, either.
  11. Necro-reply, I know, but: That's the method I use, as well, and you can get pretty fancy with it. For example, I have two characters that I play, as well as keeping a few "break point" saves (right before character creation is the main one) and separate "general purpose" saves for stress testing any mods or dinking around "out of character". To keep them all nice and organized, I use a 3-character prefix for all but the general purpose ones. I use zzzExampleSave for one character, yyyExampleSave for the other, 000ExampleSave for the break points, and just ExampleSave for the general purpose ones. I'll also name the save what I'm up to at that point so I can remember what I was doing later on, and I'll use numbers to keep consecutive saves in chronological order (zzzBleakFalls01, zzzBleakFalls02, etc.). This allows you to tell at a glance what a save is about, even in your Saves folder (where the in-game information like location and character name don't show up). Makes it really easy to differentiate between "junk" save files (zzzWhereAreMyPants) and important ones (zzzJoiningStormcloaks).
  12. Warburg's 3D Paper Map has a no-player-marker option, plus it's easier to read and is much more immersive than the vanilla satnav map. I highly recommend using that.
  13. Tried Bandicam, and it works better and/or is less annoying than the other options. Still a long way from the single purpose, launches-with-the-game kind of thing I'm looking for, though. Has anyone checked out that FSX program to see if something similar would be possible for Skyrim? I'd do it myself, but my programming knowledge is a little out-of-date...
  14. The Joy of Perspective is about as close as you're going to get, I think. From what I've read, a lot of the forced 3rd person stuff (knockdowns, horse riding, etc.) are designed in such a way that you can't make a 1st person version. Lord only knows why Bethesda designed things that way, but I hope they scrap it. There are games out there that do 3rd person well. TES isn't one of them.
  15. Yeah, I was kind of shocked when I found out it was getting that hot. Haven't had an opportunity to pull the case apart and give it a good cleaning yet, but it's most certainly on the to-do list now.
