  1. Hi all Have come across this tool in a folder provided by creation kit. This folder is in the main Skyrim SE data folder and is named tools. It is supposed to convert animation files to the new game format. What does not come with this is any in depth instructions for use. Only the stupid-idly obvious note stating what it is used for. So does any one know the process and are willing to let every one know? Thanks

"Skyrim making modders out of gamers since 2011 " :smile: That should be the new header for this site. Been getting into converting mods to work on Skyrim SE. I am vaguely familiar with creation kit. Had made a couple of followers. Dug up a pile of armor mods that did not need hd high heels to work as that meant skse . Then the learning curve begins. Thank the divines and Talos for Google. Have learn` t about bsa files and how to extract them and also dds, psd and tga files .Then how to convert psd and tga to dds. :ohmy: :wallbash: Have now a couple of nifty converters and a bsa extractor. :thumbsup: Have converted every thing into dds which the all new creation kit accepts. So will begin repackaging some mods and see if they work. Cheers
  3. So has any one else downloaded a mod with the read me files in a other language? Have found a quick and easy way to both read them and save them in a new file. I realise there will be vast amount of people that will know of this method but I`m thinking there maybe like me a few who still finding out these things. You will need a old browser that will allow text files to be dragged and dropped into a new page. The browser will also need to have page encoding. So that`s the method. Drag and drop your text file into a new tab/ page of your browser. I am using Internet explorer that came with windows seven. Select page and then encoding and the encoding that relates to your file. Once your file is displayed in the correct font for the language of the file copy the text to Google translate. From there you can read or copy the translated text to a new note pad file. I have found though Chinese translated in Google translate is the english equivalent of the Chinese words so for me at least still unreadable. Japanese and Russian translates OK. Due to the internet explorer being a old version I do not have it as my default browser, I only use it for this translation. i have water fox as my default browser.
  4. Ah yes, but it is the wolfish grin that you still have... Yeah some banter does get repetitive. I have noticed after installing RDO there is more verity now. Some of the more common ones are now more random.
  5. Well not any doors that is. I have a house mod with a basement. This basement is kited out for followers. The basement is a separate cell to the house and is accessed through a load door. Now is there a mod that will let NPC`s , followers etc use load doors and access other spaces?
  6. I personally use Mod organizer as so does a vast number of others. It has a very good selling point. It keeps your mods separate to the main Skyrim game files. This allows you to tinker with your set up with out corrupting your game files, Pretty easy to use. Hell If I can fumble through using it I reckon a three year old should be able to.   7. Just recently was on the way from Dragons bridge to Rorikstead and was nearing the bandit camp robbers gorge. Those dragon born cultist did the usual ambush thing that they do so well. I managed to decapitate one. Serana then revives the headless cultist and he fights for her. Nothing like a headless corpse running around fighting . Have already posted that the follower Recorder has brought her horse in side. Luckily the house mod has two live in staff, so the mess is not a issue.

  9. Got back to Skyfall estate after a hard few days away dealing out death mayhem. On the ground floor I thought I heard a horse neigh. Na I thought can`t be. Went down stairs to unload some loot, dammed if I did hear that horse again. Went up to the top floor and there is Recorders horse. Recorder walks past and said " I`ve seen some strange things in skyrim" or some thing along that phrase she has. Priceless. Modded skyrim sure has it`s surprises. Will be interesting to see how long the horse is there.
  10. Where you would normally install skyrim make a hard link folder called steam. The hard link folder will have it1s linked folder in your other drive. Now your computer is fooled into believing skyrim is installed on your main computer when is is actually on the other drive. Will still be run through your main drive though, so all you will be doing is saving a tonne of hard drive space. I believe that you can`t directly install skyrim on a separate drive as it has several files it relies on in windows. Sound is one and Direct X is another from memory .
  11. When sky rim is installed there other files installed in the window files. Direct x and audio are two that I remember. So you can back every thing up, but you will need to re verify your game through steam and then those missing files will be replaced.
  12. So if there is a 255 limit on the plug in`s is it a true 64 bit game ? Or is it like the Microsoft windows on windows where 32 bit programs can run in a 64 bit system? You get the extra memory available but that`s it as the program is still a 32 bit running in a 64 bit shell program? Or some thing like that.

So with a 64 bit version of Skyrim just how many mods/ plug ins will you be able to run ?I realise there will be a system to system difference, but in a theoretical perfect world with with just the right computer is it over 3000 ? Now that would be some load order to sort. Interesting amount of procrastination about perceived facts verses real facts to read through. Seems to be a good thing.
  14. I have as the title indicates installed Arissa. Great addition and was playing well. Now it seems like the animations are not working properly. All other animations in the game are working as they should and all characters, npcs, other followers, critters etc are fine. Arissa is stuck running on the spot. Does follow sort of. When I leave Arissa and enter another building or cave Arissa will appear then continue running on the spot.
  15. I could in the forums just post a link to the down load page. But that would soon be buried and forgotten. And really whats the difference of posting a link to Mega where the down load is and making a permanent place for the mod ?
  16. In game it is machine translated english. Not to bad to understand. Problem I have with contacting the mod author is the language and it is Chinese site that you have to log into in Chinese. So if there is any one that is on Nexus that is a dab hand with Chinese and has the write key board. Feel free to give me a hand. :smile:
  17. Hello all. I have come across a great mod. World of Rudra. It is on a Chinese site. Have been able to translate the page. and In the thou shall and thou shall not section it clearly states the mod is free to share. Just not to use the assets etc. which is fair enough. So I should be able to put it on Nexus? I will of course state who the mod author is and all that and a link to the Chinese site.
  18. Hello. Have been looking at the Citrus head mod. Need a bit more basic info. How do you generate the face gen data in creation kit ? Have done the Google search. Seems all tutorials re face gen are for single npcs / newly created followers. How does it work for all vanilla npc`s. Thanks
  19. Hello all Have a dialogue mod that I would like to have a go at making. Now I have been doing a bit of reading of tutorials on creating dialogue. All good there. These tutorial only deal with the players character talking to other characters. The mod I have in mind will be mostly dialogue between followers with only input from the players character to stop the dialogue / quest. So the questions. 1: Can I through creation kit set up a mod that detects the vanilla followers and any added followers then assign the dialogue quest to them ? 2: Can you set up a follower only dialogue with out character names ? These being added when as in question one the mod detects the followers and either assigns the quest to the followers or loads the follower id into the quest, which ever way it works. 3: Can you with creation kit create a mcm entry to turn the quest or features on or of etc?
  20. Yep I have a mod that I would like to have a go at making. But have no clue as where to start. Have got the creation kit. Some time back I played round with the creation kit and made simple a follower. This mod is a little bit more involved, for me at least. A dialogue mod.
  21. Yeah done the restart as well after too many new mods. Mod organizer is good but I am a confessed mod aholic and like to tweak the game as well. If mod organizer could it would pinch the bridge of its nose and shake its head.
  22. AAAARRRRGGGHHH So many great mods, so much to choose from, Just get a game set up and running and oh look here another another mod that looks the business. I have when it comes to new mods that I like the look of no will power at all. Instant down load. Then as it it happens the mods I thought would be a good thing is not for me. Then comes the mod removal and the hassle of the saves being not quite right. No wonder I can`t finish a game. Ah that feels better rant over and back to the game once that new mod down loads........
  23. Did a sort through of my installed mods and rechecked each one as to what there load order was. Had two that where incorrectly placed. Found one that would crash the game pretty quick no matter where I put it in the load order, Was a house mod, so not a problem to get rid of. I have 207 mods,two are merges of armors and clothes and 208 plugins. After the sort the game ran for over a hour before it stalled. I am probably running close to what my pc can handle as far as graphics, but I am still running between 40 and 60 FPS. Cheers
  24. I have been trying to sort the mod priority in Mod Organizer. There seem to be no hard and fast rule as to where which mod should go. Some mods do have a load order preference, others don`t, but seems they should have and other can go just about any where. The only general rule seems to be mods that should over write other mods go to the bottom of the order. Then other posts I have read state that you should as close as possible sort your mod to match your esm / esp load order. This would put mods that should over write in the wrong position. So have ignored this suggested method. Cheers
