If your mods are from Nexus SE you could possibly get some info when you install. If you have placed your mod archive in the mod organizer down load folder. Then when you go to install the mod you get the option to query the mod details. Unfortunately mod organizer takes a guess at the mod id. So you get at best two options. If you pick the wright one it checks with Nexus and updates the mod details. Not a big problem if you pick the wrong one. Just wipe your hard drive and start again (OK maybe not  ) Actually you just have to delete the meta data in the Mods install folder and reinstall the mod choosing the other option. Just reinstalling the mod does not work as mod organizer reads the meta data file regardless which id option you choose. Normally I have found that one option is a single id number like number one and the wright one is a several digit id. You can also check on Nexus and get the mod id and at the time of install update the details.

SSE Niskope question
strawbqwerty replied to strawbqwerty's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
https://ghostbin.com/paste/nhcdc This is the guide in question. It was a link on Redit in a thread discussing issues with meshes, converting them to Skyrim SE etc. I have had one mod that has worked with a combination of the nexus tool and Nifskope. I used the nexus tool for the head geom and Nifsciope for the rest. It worked then. -
I have begun to use Nifskope to sort out some mesh issues when converting to Skyrim SE. Now I was told too do the following spells> batch> add tangent spaces and up date. Now on some internet tutorials they say not to do this with body and head meshes and on others they don`t say any thing. So that is the question. Which is correct? Run the command on all meshes or do I leave out body and head meshes?

SSE Is my creation kit broken?
strawbqwerty replied to strawbqwerty's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
I had awhile ago down loaded nifskope but never used it. Should have taken the plunge back then. Did as posted above except the auto sanitize, which in this case did not brake anything. Mod loaded in creation kit and I was able to preview the NPC. So saved it so the esp was yet again updated. Mod works in Skyrim SE. So thanks to those that encouraged me to use nifskope. For the bit I need in nifskope it is easy enough. -
SSE Is my creation kit broken?
strawbqwerty replied to strawbqwerty's topic in Skyrim's Creation Kit and Modders
Hmm nifskope, scary. Looks like another process I am going to have to learn about. All I have done so far is convert the meshes with the mesh converter found here on Nexus. Textures i use Xnconvert that converts all DDS files to DXT5. I have noticed that a lot of NPC mods that the eye brow files are DTX3. So instead of checking every file a just run them all through Xnconvert. When i run a old npc esp through the new creation kit it doe sometimes generate new face tint texture files, so far only tga which are useless and shows how little Bethesda cared about converting the creation kit for the new Skyrim. -
I have some follower mods that at the moment will not port to Skyrim SE. Have done the big three. Meshes, textures and run the esp through creation kit. The esp now in SSEedit shows it is the right type for Skyrim Se. The followers are basic types with no special scripts or custom voices. I have read that the new skyrim some times changes cell data and this can cause conflicts with old mods. That and the location of the follower is already loaded with npc`s. So i decided to move the follower to a quite new cell . This is where I am having a few issues with creation kit. I can load the esp, i can click on the npc and bring up the actor panel and that is as far as creation kit lets me go. If i try and preview the npc creation kit crashes. If I try and edit anything and save creation kit crashes. I deleted the cell that the npc was in with SSEedit and then tried to place the npc into a new cell and creation kit crashes. This had worked with another npc with no problems at all. Now i`m two out of two npc mods with creation kit crashing.

Small Home With Plenty Displays?
strawbqwerty replied to SporkOfJustice's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Aspen Manor. Over all a big estate, but the house it self is a nice size. You will have to buy it . In side is really well laid out and all in one cell. Smithing is out side under cover. Mod is on the Nexus Skyrim SE site. Quail call Manor another home, this one is not far from Dragons Bridge. lay out is a bit hmm to get around and it does have three separate cells so a lot of loading to wait through. It has not been ported to Skyrim SE yet. And for some thing a bit different there is the Island Hobbit home. I personally quite like this one. Small enough with all the thing you could ask for . This is also a Skyrim SE version. It is located between Riften and Iverstead on the shores of lake Honrich. -
I run AMD. I have a Gigabyte 990FXA UD3 which can be got for under $200 I have a FX 6130 6 core CPU also to be had for well under $200 Then get some DDR 3 ram I have 16 gb. I had a couple of Nvida GTX 760 graphic cards in SLI that worked ok, but slowed up when thing on screen got real busy. I have since installed a Radeon RX480. That was spoiling my self. The GTX 760 are ok for starters. Just remember though 64 bit Sky rim is not limited to 4gb both with mother board and your graphic card. I have noticed when I am playing the game is using a bit over 6 gb of ram. I have a modular 1200 watt PSU , which may be a bit excessive, but it does future proof the the power supply for up grades. So what I am getting to is, as you indicated , you do not need to spend thousands to play Skyrim unless you want full 4k graphics and a photo realistic Skyrim.

Same happens with me out from whistling mine. Just a chunk of vanilla real estate there. No towns, npc`s, just ice and snow. I have a Radeon RX480 8gb so that should not be a issue. Only mods that could cause issues are S M I M , A Noble Sky rim ( that has the patch for S M I M ) and fluffy snow. Has not been a major issue as I could get around the area of ctd. Just took a number of crashes to work out the boundaries of the area to avoid. Thankfully it is a area that you rarely travel though.

Tera weapons and Tera bows come to mind. You will have to though convert then as I have to Skyrim SE.

https://afkmods.iguanadons.net/index.php?/topic/4633-skyrim-se-things-to-know-when-converting-standard-mods-to-sse/ This the info that I have gone by. So far it has been spot on. As posted for most textures it will be OK, but for peace of mind and saving the hassle of trying to find that one sus texture amid all those others I just convert them to DXT5. Only because the converting program I have only converts to DXT5. Xnconvert is the program found with Google and is a free to use. Will convert by simply selecting the texture folder of the mod and will then convert all the textures within all the sub folders. Whilst that is running I then , using the niff converter from Nexus, convert the meshes.

Gotta love the way some mods work. I ported three Follower mods over to new skyrim that all spawned in the Hall of the Dead Whiterun. Diana the pure blood vampire being the one with a personal space issue  Seem like Diana did not like sharing her digs with other followers or the vanilla npc`s that reside in the Hall of the dead. After installing the mods I of course made my way to the hall of the dead to see if they had successfully ported. Entered the hall of the dead to find one follower already a new member of the hall of the dead as with the vanilla npc`s , bodies all over the place. The last one was putting up a brave fight but Diana was moving in for the kill  So I have moved the feisty wench to Belethors goods and all is well now.

Was not the mouse. It was Joy of perspective. Reinstalled mod using vanilla setting. I have a complete animation mod that was competing with Joy of perspective.

What do you think about follower mods?
strawbqwerty replied to VulcanTR's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Needs to be a forth option. Like them but just a few less than a million. So those that don`t like a gaggle of followers around also have vanilla style inns, all nice and empty? Yes you could use a populating mod that spawns vanilla npc`s and fills up the empty spaces. i have a couple that do this. Plus you can,as I have, down loaded a bunch of unique and interesting to look at followers, some with dialogue. Then I merged them and hey look Inns and places with lots of interesting npc`s. I like to have a couple around for adventuring. So I pick a couple at some town and adventure till I am at another town and swap them for a couple more. Adds a bit of variety to the game. -
What Would Make You Use Scrolls?
strawbqwerty replied to svartalfimposter's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Have used them, but as posted, to much fapping about in the menu activating them etc. I now mostly use them for easy coin. There too little difference to spells for a scroll to be used. They need to be made to be unique. Completely different spells or combined spells that are much better than a spell and then make them harder to find. So they are then a level above spells and then worth while finding and using. -
I have got my self a new mouse. Now the cross hair is out when I use both the cross bow and the bow. So how doe one reset the cross hair?

Thanks for the reply. I did a bit of google research before buying. The MSI cards are apparently the noisiest and warmest going by the various reviews. I am not looking for 4k gaming so yeah it should be quite suitable . I mostly wanted more ram. No point having access to all your MB ram and bottle necking at the graphic card. Rest of my computer is up to speed, was only the graphics that needed a look at.
-
Just remember to save occasionally. Unless of course you don`t mind a few few replays of dungeons and the like. Plays that well that I keep forgetting to save until my character meets a nasty end. Nearly all ways at the end of some dungeon and a hour or more of playing. Still as you have already noticed it is a far better Skyrim than the old one.

I have ended up getting a GIGABYTE RX480G1-GAMING-8GD ** 8GB ** RX480 VIDEO CARD . Gigabyte does some work with the fans that make them pretty much silent and they get the card to run a bit cooler. Specs are much the same as the GTX 980, slightly faster but not by much unless over clocked.
-
Thinking of up grading my graphics. I have at the moment two GTX 760 cards in SLI that give me 4 gb . That was fine in the old 32 bit Sky rim, but I`m thinking it`s not enough in Skyrim SE. I have noticed a few times where the graphics start to struggle to keep up. I am interested in the Radeon r9 360 8gb. Spec are better than what I have now. Any one running one of these cards?
-
Yes there is the mod Lootification for SE , but it only works with nexus mod manager. I use mod organizer. So is there any others about that will work with mod organizer? I know you can add to the leveled list with SSEedit, but that is as much fun as poking your eyes out with the pointy end of a burnt stick, no I would say the burnt pointy stick would be more fun.

i have completed that quest with out any issues. You could get to the point where you create a item at the forge then use the console commands to finish that stage of the quest. Not really immersive but it will get you past that stage. Mods should not really bother this quest as there are only vanilla assets being used. Unlike the Dawn guard quest where you could run into issues with vampire mods as I believe I did. As for posting your mod list, that is dark secret knowledge only known by a privileged few or there would be a helpful sticky post giving detailed instructions on how to.

DDS files marked as Nif files and Nif files as DDS files.
strawbqwerty replied to strawbqwerty's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim SE
Found the culprit that scrambled the files. it was the BSA extractor I was using. Tried another BSA extractor and all was good. -
I have been able to successfully port the Rudra mod to Skyrim SE. Graphics are amazing. Well worth the effort if any one else feels the need to do the same. I had some issues with the BSA unpack-er tool that I was using . So I used this one http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/913/? and i had no issues at all. I then converted my meshes and textures. Meshes I used the tool form this site, Textures i use Xn Convert found with Google Done and was ready to play. English is machine translated from Chinese so there is a bit of a hassle with some of the text. But I have been able to work out what the jist of the topic was OK. There are quest to do and plenty of world to explore. I would say level 30 to start would be best.

There is normally two Hothtrooper esp`s. If that list is your actual load order then Alternative start should be second from the bottom just above relationship dialogue overhaul.
