  1. Hi. I'd like a mod that prevents the player from actually dying and instead locks their HP at 1. I use another Kick in the Head and want this so that blacking out is guaranteed and I'm forced to use the alt-death every time. Thank you.
  2. Hi. I'm looking for a way to keep player and enemy health from going below 1HP. Also wondering if there's a way to enforce a max HP for all human NPCs. Is any of this possible? Thank you
  3. I'm curious, how do random encounters work? Do they only begin once you speak with Virgil or are they present as long as the mod is activated.
  4. Requesting again, pls make it. > Die > Wake up in wilderness with no items and stats are reset (autosave overwritten) > All active quests failed > Old body can be found where you died with 5% of it's inventory yes?
  5. Start new vegas. Die. Respawn in random location without any items and all active quests failed. All stats and reputations reset. Find old body with 10% of its original inventory. Die again. Repeat. Can someone make this? I will love you.
  6. Posted this in another thread so I'll just repost it here: "the two mods that come to mind right away are creature-to-npc and zombie world"
  7. Not exactly what you asked for but Only War Never Changes makes your character look a little older every time you level up.
  8. It's relative, but because we can mod in some respect (relative, once again) improve on the base game, some people do expect a higher standard....and there's nothing wrong with that. Taht's just packages brother. There are a ton of sleeping and eating PKGs. If they have the appropriate packages and the appropriate items (type, ownership etc) they will use them. Good point on the communities expectations. I'm intrigued with packages though, what are they and what do they do?
  9. Hi this would be a pain in the ass for me to do by hand so I'm wondering if someone who knows non tedious methods for editing DT's could do it for me. All I want is all armor in the game to have it's DT multiplied by 10, including DLC armors. Thanks!
  10. I think since thats how the reputation mechanic works in the vanilla game anyway people wouldn't be too bothered. But I can't say for certain haha. Here's a similar thread I started a while back that never really took off that explored a similar concept to the one OP posted: http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2346119-npc-routines-everybody-eats/
  11. Not exactly what you're looking for but Zombie World might have some of what you want. See it here: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/46850/?
  12. Couldn't trespassing just affect Goodsprings reputation the way picking a locked door usually does? Like if someone sees you break into the General Store at night you'll be shunned by the community as a whole instead of only having to deal with Chet.
  13. Alternatively you can try Hotline Mojave which was a personal mod of mine for about a week, doesn't really work as well as deadly combat tho
  14. the two mods that come to mind right away are creature-to-npc and zombie world
  15. It seems that it's more a matter of personal taste. If you want to perfect every mission with unlimited do-overs and no punishment for dying then that's fine. I didn't even request for that to be removed (I only asked that autosave got overridden because I personally hate savescumming lol) But this is New Vegas, not hotline miami. New Vegas is in it's own world which is depicted as bleak and unforgiving. If I f*#@ up in New Vegas I want to feel like there are consequences for doing so. "there will never be any quests or anything else built up for the player to build any sort of investment in" I disagree with this completely. If death had an actual consequence for the player, it would cause them to accept less dangerous quests that they otherwise would to improve their character stats and get better gear to take on the more dangerous ones. It would make them explore the world more than they would before and give it more time to establish itself. Every questline, even small ones like Come Fly With Me, will feel like it's own satisfying journey with a beginning and end for the player that undertook it (at least it has in my experience playing w permadeath mods). Playing the game this way made it feel like everything was more personal and immersive. Novac was my home and not just a setpiece. Decisions had to be made this way that otherwise wouldn't be if dying was little more than just "reload your last save plz." But again, the option is there for unlimited retrys. Just always felt like cheating to me.
  16. Why do you think such a mod would remove the fun from the game? If anything I would think it would make the game more challenging and encourage the player to explore other more obscure quests and objectives.
  17. Yeah that mod barely fits the description of what I had in mind. I'm hoping theres someone willing to fufill this request too as the two have little in common haha
  18. You might be thinking of Another Kick in the Head, which gets suggested time and time again. It is kinda similar to what I posted but most all of the features are missing except respawning in a different place.
  19. Hi again! I would think this would be easy to script but I'm not sure because I actually dont know anything. I'll outline what I had in mind below: > die > respawn in wilderness w no items (autosave gets overwritten at this point) > all active quests are failed > appearance, name, level, stats and special are randomized (optional) > players old body can be found at place of death stripped of 95% of its items anyone willing to take a stab at this? basically just want death to be more of a punishment and just deleting the save is no fun
  20. How hard would it be to make all weapons (including melee, unarmed and explosives) be one hit kills to all enemies in game (except creatures). Essentially want first person hotline miami lol
  21. Right, I originally posted this in the comments section of DUST but its sort of out of scope for that mod so I'll post it here: Dynamic Encounters: Human enemies surround you and threaten you if your weapon is holstered. If your weapon is raised or you stick around too long enemies will attack. If a gun is pointed at an enemy other enemies in the area will back off unless they are outside your line of sight or you wait too long to fire. Enemies can rob you of foodstuffs, ammo or weapons and let you go without attacking. Enemies can rob you and attack you anyway. Think something along the lines of I Am Alive's combat: And another idea I had about how death should be handled is, after dying, have the player wake up in a random location without any items, all active quests failed and with their stats reset and randomized, but the changes made to the world remain and their old body can be found in the place where they died. Would make dying more of a punishment than just reloading a save.
  22. Just a few ideas: 1.) Fiends will attempt to rob you of your caps in exchange for not being attacked (like in FO3). After paying Fiends, there is still a low percentage chance they will attack. 2.) Aiming your gun at an NPC will cause them to either attack, run away or drop some caps. Likelihood of attack increases with how many other NPC's are nearby. 3.) Pack Brahmin carry the items the traveling merchants are selling (as well as their caps). Killing/attacking the pack brahmin, mercaneries or traders awards massively negative karma. Looting the dead brahmin counts as stealing.
  23. For immersion reasons, I have the VATS range set to 0 because it makes the game waaay easy. However, it's still pretty badass to have ingame and I would like to have the option because sometimes I need a little help. Basically all I want is a mod that makes the VATS range double the default value for however long the player is on psycho (AP is still drained from using VATS). Range returns to zero after psycho/slasher wears off. Thanks.
  24. Not sure how hard this should be, after creating a save with Invisible Walls Removed I realized that I'd rather have them present as you're otherwise able to completely skip huge chunks of the map. Problem is that now the invisible walls are gone completely even if I uninstall the mod so I'm looking for a way to re-add them. Any ideas?
  25. Ammo in the wasteland is way too common. Basically what I'm asking is that ammo spawns be cut down to around 10% what they are now (and have this affect NPC's.) Gunfights should only break out between factions that have the resources to indulge in them, not just anybody in the wasteland.
