  1. Are there any hairstyle mods out there that utilize the hair-hide function and properly mod their hair so that the polygons that would clip through hats and helmets instead are flagged to hide when hats and helmets are worn in the "hair" slot? Commonwealth Cuts offers a great variety, but they didn't mod any of their hairs to properly work with hats/helmets, I assume the original authors back in Skyrim didn't, either, which is also a shame because that game had the function as well. Yet, I digress. There's got to be a couple mods out there that do this, right? Sure, CC has "hat" versions that work that way but they include their own hats so if you ever want to take off your hat/helmet then you're f'd. If it's already been done somewhere by someone, even if the variety isn't great, I'd really like to know because I really don't want to spend hours or days struggling through trying to do it with one or two hairs in Outfit Studio. I don't care if the hair clips through the body or armor or whatever, I only care that it doesn't clip through hats/helmets like the fedora or Silver Shroud hat, for example.
  2. What does this function do? It looks like it utilizes stealth boy technology. However it doesn't really seem to be very effective. I feel like I'm as easy to spot without "thermal optics," even if I use the "Chinese" version, as I am with them. Not only that, does any one know why the suit is so darn heavy? 25 weight base easily gets up to 113+ with the right mods and "ultra light weight" doesn't seem to reduce the weight by too terribly much. I question how this could be a sneak suit when it weighs so much. I imagine that's why I'm so easy to find, because this darn suit weighs a bloody ton! Are there mods out there to fix or alter this attribute? I've only been able to find a couple of b-90 mods and they appear to be mesh and texture changers only. I really want to like and use this suit, but for the one thing it seems designed toward, stealth, it's absolutely terrible with its weight. But, primarily, I want to know if the thermal optics do anything. Is the Chinese version essentially an always-on in-stealth stealth boy? If so could that be why it doesn't seem very effective? I've read that no one really uses stealth boys specifically because they don't work as well as they used to, if that's the case the weight of the suit seems to more than nullify any benefit the weirdly named "optics" might give you. I was expecting thermal vision or something. Anywho, thank you for the time you took to read this!
  3. No, because I am in the Fallout 4 forums, not the Fallout 3 forums and am, in such, looking for something for Fallout 4. I appreciate the effort, though.
  4. Hey, all! How's it going? I hope you answered "well!" Now, let's see.. Is there any way to reduce the minimum distance on the third person camera? That is to say the distance that you can get close to your character before it zooms to first person. Both in combat and out of combat, I'd like to be able to zoom in fairly close to my character without being forced back into first person. I'm definitely uncomfortable with the default level of zoom, the zoom out is more or less fine, I can see all of my character when I want and see around myself well, but I feel like the closest zoom in third person isn't close enough.

  6. Thanks to you both for your excellent suggestions! Unfortunately this silly forum didn't update me despite being subscribed to it so I almost totally spaced checking again. As for you, yeah, it's my opinion. I'm not attacking people, I'm not even attacking any specific work, I'm not even really attacking anything. You're just going out of your way to defend what more or less amounts to nothing. All I said is that I couldn't find anything that didn't seem overly bright, overly dark, or both. To me that was, indeed, sooo annoying. When you can't get things to look the way you want and you're an aesthetic person, not being able to find what you want tends to grate on your nerves. As for the brightness, we've all seen that atomic explosion at the start, right? Super bright. That's almost what it felt like during the day with some of the ENBs I tried, not quite as bad, but it was still noticeably bright. Now, I didn't name any projects nor did I demand, ask, or even hint at me wanting anyone make me anything because I figure there's tons of enbs and there's tons of people that all have their favorites, so if I got some suggestions from those tons of people I would, no doubt, find one that is just what I wanted. It's not complaining, it's emphasizing points in order to get across what you're looking for. I also see that you totally missed my WarGames reference, which is immensely disappointing and, just for that reason alone, you should be ashamed.
  7. I've looked all over and it feels like all the ENBs for this game do one of three things, make nights too dark, make days too bright, or both make nights too dark and days too bright. Maybe it really is realistic, maybe it's not, I don't know and don't gaf as that isn't why I'm looking for an ENB. I just want things to look a bit prettier and still be able to see both at night and during the day. I mean, sure, I expect to see less during the night, but not so much that I feel like I'm in a cave with no lights, even if I am, in fact, in a cave with no lights. As real and immersive as that is it makes game play sooo annoying. And I don't want it to look like there's a constant atomic explosion in the distance during the day, either. Whether or not you want to play a game or global thermonuclear war would strip away so much of the atmosphere to make the sun's light be as if the world was sterile white are both irrelevant. I just want to be able to see stuff in game clearly with the orbs in my eyeholes. So, I'd like some suggestions on ENBs that aren't over the top, if you'd please. I'd really very much appreciate it.
  8. My thought? We all knew that Beth has the rights to all the stuff made with their creation kits, if someone didn't realize that they were just fooling themselves. Furthermore we don't support the mods themselves, we support the mod makers. Big difference, I don't see why the mod makers can't make their own Patreon page and simply give it a small little shout out at the bottom of their descriptions and nothing more. Or even the very top, as long as it's a small thing. Something like "Like my work? Become my patron today to help let me spend more time on things I love, like this mod!" followed by the link to their page. Simple, quick, and tiny. If you make sure that everyone knows that it has to be a small message, including the link, you won't run the risk of people trying to guilt anyone. I've seen flash game developers use Paetreon, artists use it, all sorts of people use it and it really does help as their work goes from a LABOR of love to just something they love as getting paid on a regular basis, even if just a small amount, helps keep people motivated to do make mods, textures, models, improve upon all sorts of things, and just do the things they love to do. If it helps them quit their job or get a part time and still live to where they're comfortable then it's a huge win. The fact that mod developers can't give themselves a little shout out with their paypal donation or their own Paetreon or something just seems.. well, frankly, a very bad decision. Just have users report descriptions with "abusive" donation links and make it so that it has to be simple and quickly-read message or shout out sort of thing, maybe even give an example for them to follow. Either way, it's just bad to have a tiny little donation button that no one ever sees and to not let the creator give themselves a little shout out or "pimp themselves out" a little bit to help support what they love. This stuff takes time, after all, quite a bit of it, and it just seems wrong that the Nexus profits off of these people while they themselves aren't even allowed to bring the fact they take donations or patrons to the notice of the community. Finally, as to the topic of messy descriptions, perhaps instituting a description template, say, for example, with that donation shout out first, then the standard description, then w/e else after that, would help. Doing such a thing, actually, I'm positive would help significantly. Giving some structure instead of just saying "Oh this looks bad," or "You can't do this" would go a long ways in helping everyone out.
  9. The invisibility fix mod fixed this perfectly fine for me. No more weird eye texture glitches or the like. Someone sounds salty.
  10. I couldn't tell ya, I haven't used full screen in -anything- in years. However I will ask, are you certain that it's frozen? I notice that sometimes my Skyrim starts up and I get a black screen yet if I wait a bit the start screen comes up and everything works just fine, it's like it's just taking longer than normal to load. As for what's causing it, really not sure! D: I've looked into it myself yet haven't found much in way of answer. I've just learned to wait. I know that's not really an answer yet have you tried waiting for a minute or two? Mine says "not responding" as well if I click it yet if I just keep waiting, even after it says that, I haven't had it not load up after a minute or two. Albeit it doesn't always happen, yet when it does that's all I have to do. Your experience and issue may vary.
  11. You really should attempt disabling everything. I'd strongly suggest the following... Uninstall ALL of your mods, NMM, Steam, and otherwise then completely clean out your data folder, then reinstall all of your mods one at a time. Make sure to make at least two saves before you do this. One you'll keep for when you figure out the issue, the other you'll use for testing so it's okay if that save gets messed up. So you'll probably notice some issues if you didn't follow the specific uninstall directions of every mod, yet, if you're lucky, it'll work well enough for you to stand in place and see which mod makes that armor come back as you re-activate them all one at a time.
  12. You ONLY use NMM, right? Or do you use something else as well like Mod Organizer? There's no such thing as "ghost files," these things HAVE to be getting placed somewhere, right now we just need to figure out where. There seems to be some sort of overwrite folder going on, like I know Mod Organizer uses a whole other folder system when using/installing mods. So since some of your installed mods aren't showing up it seems like something else is being used as well or they're going somewhere else. This is... Honestly really weird, yet I'm sure I don't need to tell you that! Edit: If you're only using NMM check the blue and grey gears in the upper left hand corner, click those and click the "Skyrim" tab. Check your directories listed to make sure that things aren't being installed in weird places.
  13. Hmm.. My main issue is that I recognize that armor, it's a variation of http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10251 However none of your mods include that. Humm... It has to be from a mod or old mod... Maybe some sort of overhaul or something. I really can't say for certain. If I had a look at your data folder I may be able to finger it out. What other mods to you have?
  14. I'm just going to go ahead and request a list of the mods you have that modify armors. The issue is that it's not just a leftover file as there's a clear texture instead of just a flat pastel purple. Some mods modify things randomly or have options to modify things that you normally wouldn't think of. If you don't want to list your mods I'd suggest disabling then re-enabling them one by one to see if you find your mystery armor. If all else fails you can just uninstall ALL your mods and clear out your Data folder then reinstall all your mods, that will no doubt fix it unless it's one of the mods you're installing that's doing it. Of course if you use something like Mod Organizer it could be that you have something left over in one of the overwrite folders.
  15. Well first of all remove all the Steam mods, then go ahead and just clear out your data folder and use steam to delete local content then redownload and install. As far as I know your saved games store mod info and scripts and what not so you'd have to start new there as well. However that -should- allow you to start over completely.
  16. I'm having a problem with my game, pratically the game is like it doesn't read the content of the meshes and textures folder, so the armor mods and texture mods are not working (but the esp works). I already checked the folders, they are all right, for example the retexture of the iron armor is in: Data\Textures\armor\iron\m, but in the game there aren't any new textures... any help, please? Are you using any mod managers or organizers. I know that MO requires things be installed into the overwrite (possibly override?) folder before they work properly. Similarly you may have conflicting mods. If you have any other mods that work with armor I'd suggest uninstalling those and keeping your new armor mod installed. Make sure you uninstall the mods the way the mod page/readme tells you to. Now after you do this check if the armor mod you're wanting installed is working. If it is working then reinstall each mod one at a time, if you find that one of the mods asks to overwrite files from the mod you're having issues with then you have your culprit. If however you have no mods that are working at all then I need to know if you have something like Mod Organizer, if you do then it could be that your mods aren't extracting or aren't extracted to MO's Overwrite folder.
  17. I didn't misunderstand. If new mods won't work then there may be something conflicting or something not working correctly. Uninstalling everything properly then reinstalling everything one at a time on a clean save will help remove the most common issues and will help to restore the Data folder after your little mishap.
  18. Try uninstalling all of your mods one by one, make sure they're all uninstalled. Before attempting uninstall make sure you read each mod's readme/description and follow any special uninstall procedures for that particular mod. Make sure all of the files from the mods are out of the folder and make sure you completely deactivate all mod files. Clean out the data folder completely. You may not have to delete everything, just make sure it's all moved out of that folder. Finally do one last check to make absolutely certain you have no mods installed, check Steam, check NMM, etc, etc. Now launch Skyrim, your latest save a clean save, I've found http://arwenevecom.ipage.com/Skyrim/Skyrim-Tips.htm#Clean_Save the steps that guide takes works well for me. Go ahead and follow its steps and reinstall your mods via the instructions for each mod on each mod's respective page. Your mods hopefully work now. Edit: I'd strongly suggest using BOSS for load orders if you continue to have issues.
  19. I can't really speak for the other guy in what he meant yet your meshes and textures folders should indeed be inside the data folder. You'll often see a mod, when you open it with something like 7zip or WinRar, has the same hierarchy of folders. I.E. Skyrim/Data/Meshes/(Other folder names) or Skyrim/Data/Textures/(other folder names) That's because when something like NMM extracts the data it reads the hierarchy so it knows where all the files go. So essentially that's also how mods can be manually installed, by simply following that same hierarchy and overwriting any files from other mods, assuming you're wanting the files from your mod to overwrite others. :teehee: You can also manually uninstall the same way. By opening the mod in 7zip, WinRar, or something along those lines (no need to extract, you can follow the hierarchy of the folders and remove all the files that match the names of the files in the mods, try not to remove the folders, though, keeping those makes it easier to reinstall. As for .bsa, .esm, or .esp files those simply go right into the data folder. So as an example you'd put "Skyrim.esm" into the Skyrim/Data/ directory. Of course you'll likely find this is how your mod's hierarchy is set up anyway. Hope that helps!
  20. Hate to be "that guy" yet obviously unless I'm on the front page I'm not even going to get a view so I just figured I'd shuffle my way through here again and ... oh! What do you know? I ended up "bumping" /winkwink  into this thread again! Ooops. Really, I know it's not game breaking, yet I'd really love to figure out what's going on with the textures. Any sort of help would be highly appreciated. ~.^ On another note I have tried uninstalling, clean saving, reinstalling, dredging through the mod's textures, changing, and editing them to some extent yeeet I'm getting a big ol' load of nothing. This is clearly beyond my expertise  , so I'd love to hear from someone that might have an idea.
  21. In the mod "Evolving Followers _ Uthgerd the Unbroken Daedric Manbreaker," found at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15587/? there is a distinct texture issue between the head and the body. I've tried fixing it myself by playing around with the textures in the folders however I've yet to yield any sort of positive result. I would prefer not to have to use the CK or the like due to lack of experience if it's at all possible. Yet on that note does anyone know what issue is causing this or why? It's a documented bug from the mod itself that the author said they would look into, however the mod seems abandoned now and any update on the bug seems unlikely, you can even see it's that way in the screenshots at the mod's page. So if anyone has any idea as to what's going on and how to remedy it I'd love to hear it. My thanks. :)
  22. Hey, everyone! I've been looking for the mod that adds the mask from http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/20077-1-1342650480.jpg I already know the hood and armor is from http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20077 yet the underlying mask is a complete mystery to me. I've been looking for the mod set or whatever it is that gives that mask for well on about four or five hours now, have searched mods for "mask," "scarf," and I've looked in the weapons and armor sets category, the armour category, and the clothing category. I've checked numerous mods and while a couple come close, I believe the two I've found both use the head slot instead of some other slot. I know it's probably part of a bigger mod, yet from the dozens of pages of mods I've searched through I can't quite find one that comes close. Any help would be highly appreciated! Thank you for your time.
  23. I suggest uninstalling each mod one by one then testing your game, then after you test it, if the issue still happens, reinstall it then go on. If the issue continues to happen then do the inverse. Uninstall all of your mods then reinstall them one by one until the issue reappears. Overall I'd suggest starting with your player housing mod or any animation mods first and foremost. If you're using NMM this is a simple issue, if not, however, it still isn't too difficult if you still have the .zip files each mod came in or the readme files as most of these have a folder structure to them that make it obvious where to install the mod files. If you're using steam.. I.. can't help you there, I don't use steam for mods, just NMM, my apologies.
  24. I would try a re-install or repair using steam. If it cannot repair your .esm then I suggest just deleting it, yes.. that's right... DELETE it. Or, at least, remove it from the folder, then try a repair. It should then redownload the new and complete .esm for you.
  25. I'm also having this particular glitch. It's quite annoying and I've a better part of some days looking for a possible fix. The closest I've found is http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5321 and honestly, at this point, I'd be happy with that. This seems to happen primarily when one's character teleports or turns invisible for whatever reason, mostly the second part. Is there absolutely any sort of progress or word on how this might be fixed? I've seen some people claim that deleting .ini files helped, yet when I did so I got nothing. This glitch has also been confirmed to not be mod related but instead seems more to be how the game handles invisibility texture interchanging between regular textures and invisible ones. Any word or help on this would be highly appreciated, and thank you for your time in reading this. On that particular note.. I hope this doesn't count as "necroing." This just appeared to be the best topic to try and bring back for this glitch that I've seen.
