  1. If the devs aren't going to fix left-over features like this, can someone create a simple mod to remove it from the game? I have zero skill, so I'm left relying on the kindness of modders. :)
  2. When it comes to vehicles ending up in places where they don't belong, prawn suit "forever-falling", or seamoth clipped into wrecks or terrain, there really is no salvaging it. If you make the mistake of saving in such a case, I recommend cutting your loses: 1. See if you can access the storage locker and unload your seamoth 2. See if you can access the upgrade module locker and pull your upgrades 3. See if you can access the power cell and pull it too. Finally, see if you can destroy the vehicle so it isn't there chewing up FPS for no reason (or having a permanent reminder of a bug that should never happen in a game). You can warp yourself (the human) out of bug purgatory, but not your vehicles. Sorry, but the game has killed your seamoth.
  3. Looking good Dark0ne. I'm a little lost on the functionality atm, but I'll get used to it. :) Nice new wrapper makes the product exciting again.
  4. Seems more like Zenimax is playing the bully then. Just like Cadbury chocolate who sued an Australian chocolate manufacturer for the use of the colour Purple. Courts dismissed the case and ordered Cadbury to pay the court costs. Hopefully the same will happen in this case.
  5. I'm sure the use of the word "Scroll" is not at the true heart of the issue here. I would hope everyone who read the original post would realise that at least to some level. Lets look closer. Zenimax believes that "Scrolls" could be confused with TES. If "Scrolls" was a futuristic space MMO with menus, gameplay and characters completely different than TES, then this situation may never have happened. Obviously Zenimax believes that Scrolls shares too many similarities with TES and these similarities in ADDITION to the name is what makes Zenimax nervous enough to attempt to protect their copyrighted material. I suppose a problem with this is originality. With so many games produced someone will always release something that will look like a game someone else did. The difficult part is where is the fine line between plagiarism and inspiration? I believe that the handling of this issue by Zenimax is perhaps the true problem here. While it is perfectly reasonable to request a name change or interface changes etc if it is too similar to TES, it is NOT reasonable to begin litigation over it without "asking nicely" first. Of course, if they already warned the makers first and got a refusal / no response, then litigation would be warranted. I don't have all the facts, so I refuse to take sides as yet.
  6. Caning? I can think of more severe and effective means of punishment. Surgical neutering. No ongoing welfare issues, and it prevents scum like this from from reproducing. Win-win.
  7. Meh. I was going to write a long and boring post to the complainants, but I found it wasn't worth the time. So I boiled it down to key points: - Just exercise some patience and put up with it. - Advertisements are key sources of funding for sites like these. - This surely isn't the only site you've used which has flash ads, and if you have been the unfortunate victim of a Flash attack vector (like myself) then you should now already have taken steps to counter this vulnerability by now. Ads really shouldn't be a big issue for the savvy 'net user of today anyway :P
  8. Actually there's legitimate reason to report him to Twitter too, as he posts links to websites promoting software piracy - ergo "Illegal Activity", which is in breach Twitter's rules. :P
  9. Clean up your browser cache, clear your Java cache, and give your system a quick scan. Nothing like a clean house to keep the bugs away.
  10. Take it as a wake-up call and start taking responsibility for your own personal details. Change & strengthen all your passwords, remove personal information from profiles and get a impersonal email address. Hell, even take the opportunity to close accounts with websites you don't use any more. Do it NOW. The responsibility of your online safety lies with both the user and with the site administrators / owners. Dark0ne, you have a great site, but there will be users here watching this issue closely to see how you deal personally with this hacker. Inaction will not go down well I'm sure.
  11. Nail the hacker. What ever it takes, do it. Allow him to get away with it and it'll only worsen things for everyone else out there. Yeah, also seeing the unusual number of users on the servers. Odd.
