  1. I've read that on SE it's much better but I just don't have the GPU to run SE just yet. So i'm playing Bruma on LE for now.

     

    Please tell me there's SOMETHING that can be done to increase performance? When i'm in the city... the performance actually is pretty solid. But when i'm outside and just looking at the direction of the city even from afar, it TANKS big-time.

     

    It's so bad... I'm surprised after this long there's no optimization mod for the textures.. or whatever's causing this? This is apparently normal? For me, this is unplayable.

  2. Do not know about your frame rate but a couple of things jump out in your mod list. If you are going to use the High Res Texture packs you would be wise to use the unofficial patch for them. ELFX-Weathers is incompatible with COT, use one or the other. As for frame rate drops, I have a Geo RTX 2070 with 8gb dedicated vram and still get fps drop in certain areas, it is to be expected.

     

    Maybe someone who understands the technical reasons for this will read your post and explain it.

     

    Oh, I disabled the ELFX weather and exterior ESPs. And didn't know about the HiRes patch. Just got that.

     

    Well what i've noticed is Bruma in particular has bad FPS. When I look in the direction of the city, or if i'm in the city and looking at certain things. It's really, really annoying.

  3. Honestly, it's something i've lived with for a few years now ever since I started playing the game over 3 years ago. I don't even really know what it's like to play fully stock, vanilla Skyrim. Out of curiosity, I almost want to just to see if these issues still occur.

     

    I just wanted some folks who really know everything there is to know about the game inside and out to give me the definitive answer. Over the years i've gotten answers from some people that gives you the impression - or word-for-word - that it's simply a limitation in the game's engine. So what's the real answer?

     

    Surely, a 4GB GTX 960 that overclocks ITSELF I don't know how many hundreds of megahertz because it runs so damn cool is enough to chew through this game that's 3 years older than it? Yes, yes, it's not a 970, but it's still Skyrim we're talking. And honestly, I don't run into this issue with Fallout 4... MODDED! So what's the real answer?

     

    My mods are clean. No issues whatsoever. I understand this isn't necessarily the place for mod discussion, but I don't want to ignore the possibility. I'm sort of interested in talking about both avenues here.

     

    Allow me to explain exactly what it is i've been experiencing.

     

    The game runs at a silky smooth 60FPS and if anything it'll go past 60FPS in most cases. I'll look in a certain direction, usually a mix of rock and foliage, and BAM! FPS tanks by 15+ frames. Why is that? And sometimes it's some kind of other scenery in general. Like right now, I've only started playing Bruma and the FPS outside Buma, as you're looking at the entrance to the city and walking to it, the FPS is lower. Although not as much of a loss and aforementioned foliage/rock. Once i'm inside, however, it runs without a hitch.

    Are there some tweaks i'm missing out on? Is there something i've overlooked? And just in case anyone's curious, my load order below.

  4. Watched a couple of people's let's plays to see if they have the same issue I do with Snowstone Rest and what they said piqued my interest. They kept mentioning that it's 'the Inn from Oblivion' 'where the guy stays'. ? What the hell are they talking about? I just spend about 20 minutes looking for it in Oblivion and can't find it. Where is it? Which Inn are they exactly talking about? I feel like i'm getting trolled.

     

     

  5. Holy crap, he could not have done it any more quickly. And I would've realized that sooner if he didn't have that big header blocking the top of the window showing the mod name; which in that case was "DLCHighResTexturePack".

     

    Also, since i'm already here - and don't want to start another thread just for that - what's with the windows glowing at night at Stone Rest Inn in Beyond Skyrim, Bruma? I fixed the sign with the SMIM Patch for Bruma but what's with the light coming from the imaginary windows at night at Stone Rest?

  6. You have the compatibility patch Nevada Skies - TTW Edition installed which needs all of Fallout 3 as master files. That is why people are asking about FO3. This patch needs to be removed.

     

    From your last post, it appears that you are somewhat at a loss as to what you are doing. I suggest you stop where you are and do extensive research before continuing. You need to learn what the mods add, remove or change before you start to use them. This is done by reading the complete mod page, the ReadMe if it is available and reading any posts in the comments section for the mod. This will take some time, but it is the only way you can have mods and a stable game at the same time.

     

    dubiousintent has very helpful tutorials linked in his signature. I suggest you make yourself aware of them.

     

     

    I don't have Nevada Skies - TWW Edition. It's not activated. I don't even know what TWW is. I just have the Ultimate DLC Edition.

  7. I'm only using one Nevada Skies file. It just shows them all because that's how it installs. The mod author even says "pick one only" despite the fact that you see three. Why should Fallout 3 be there? And I have Archive Invalidation enabled in MO.

     

    I've disabled WMXUE and guns are no longer jet black. So that's good. But I crashed around the same time after loading my save. What else could be causing the crashing? The reason why I had the extra WMX components was because I was trying to get modifications for a certain gun. And it apparently wasn't available with any edition of WMX. It was so long ago, I can't even remember. I'm not new to modding or MO at all. I love MO and it's a breeze to use on Skyrim, for example. This is the only game that gives me issues. I never thought a worse game to mod would exist than Oblivion. This is definitely the contender for Oblivion. Ugh...

     

    Oh and what FCO files? I have the Glowing One and NPC Changes .esp files enabled and nothing else.

     

    I thought of deleting my ini and it's not there. But in the INI editor in MO it apparently is?

     

    C:Users/User/Documents/MyGames/FalloutNV - that's where it's supposed to be, no?

     

    EDIT: OK. Depending on which WMX esp I have activated, it makes certain guns black. :laugh:

     

    I have a choice between POP Merged, whatever that is. Ultimate Edition (which would make most sense but apparently it's outdated? :laugh:)

     

    Oh and there's a Courier's Stash one for the Preorder weapons which makes all three of which I mentioned before totally redundant. :laugh:

  8. Ok. I had trouble with Oblivion, too. I upgraded to Windows 10 and reinstalled and i'm thinking it might be the same ordeal here, but i'm giving it some hope and would like to think I can fix this. My game crashes now 1-2 minutes after loading my save.

     

    I had made a custom .esp for the Sturdy Caravan Shotgun so it looks better. I can perhaps see that affecting all guns? Anyhow, all guns are now jet-black, too.

  9. Alright. I'm back up and running, mods and all.

     

    So I haven't installed OBGE or OR. I honestly forgot what else needs OBGE. I'm contemplating using something else. Oh yeah... and I always thought ENBs tank FPS regardless of hardware, because it's simply a game engine limitation. Just like what happens in Skyrim. I installed an ENB a year ago... and it massacred FPS with modern hardware that chews through Oblivion without the fans even kicking in. How the hell do you explain that?

     

    I'm looking at other options outside of OR.

     

    And a little bit that's admittedly embarrassing. I was looking at the water on the ramp going up to the island where the door the the Shivering Isles is. The water was opaque. But I didn't know it was supposed to be that way -_-. I looked at other bodies of water and they were transparent. I guess it was just that time of day. Although when I was underwater i'm pretty sure it still was invisible.

     

    Playing newer games makes you think you're experiencing a bugs :laugh:

  10. Hmm... I reinstalled the game and launched Wrye Bash. Every mod is still there. Now I crash right on the Bethesda logo. I completely forgot how OBSE gets used on Steam, ugh. It's been so long.

     

     

    EDIT: Installed missing DX components. And made sure all mods were gone. My game is now completely 100% stock/original. It now crashes as soon as I hit play. Won't even begin the launch sequence.

    That is my personal OR ini settings. Most stuff is disabled. But there are some fps managers active to be aware of. If this doesn't help restore your old ini.

    I should also mention this will also enable horse combat, body visible in 1st person, dialog camera tweaks, and terrain shaders.

     

    That didn't do the trick. Same issue just slightly different, I forgot how. Doubt it's important though. I uninstalled OR and surprisingly, the problem is still there. I reinstall OR and load my game and it crashes when loading every time it's installed now.

     

    Odd. The issue persists even though OR has been uninstalled.

  12. I read somewhere about dx files missing and that may be the cause. I honestly can't begin to guess what the problem would be exactly. Any people more versed in this that would know what this situational problem is?

     

    I went from Windows 7 64 Pro to Windows 10 64 Pro and every game i've had installed before loads up and plays just fine. Except for Oblivion. I read about the Water Ripple effects set to 'Off' being a quick fix. Nope, not here. I actually had it off originally.

     

    What dx files could I possibly be missing for Oblivion to not work properly? I have Oblivion Reloaded installed.

  13. No error messages so it must've installed fine. But how the hell do you use it? I don't see ANYTHING added onto the map. I want to finish the Collect Em All quest and I use the Miraculous Guide to Gwent to see how many I have left and none are showing. 1 in Novigrad, 2 in Velen. 7 on Skellige. No additional markers on the map.

     

    Is this mod a troll?

  14. I've narrowed it down to the weapon sling as it goes away when I unequip it. Nothing has changed. I haven't played Skyrim in. Idk? A year? And I don't remember this issue.

     

    The only thing that's changed is I now have Bruma installed, that's it.

  15. So i've been having a lot of fun playing a second character in Fallout 4. She's a Chinese spy that's been exploring the Commonwealth, or at least I like to think so.

     

    I know that many people might say "pff, that's it?" But then I wouldn't be starting this thread if I wasn't looking for more mods. I just want it to be known that I HATE mods that add in new weapons, armour, ANYTHING and it just doesn't feel like it belongs in the game. Especially quests,NPCs. It'd have to be VERY good to impress me. But enough foreword. Getting right to it, two mods that REALLY blew me away were Wasteland Melody's Chinese Assault Rifle and Apalmemnom's Chinese Stealth Armor. I renamed the regulator's chinese rifle Xuanlong, so now I have the Xuanlong from FO3. :laugh: And I love the modifications. They feel natural and feel like real DLC. Not to mention the way the weapon behaves. Very impressive. I gave Unoctium's Chinese Stealth Suit a go but didn't like it quickly after. It looks good, but Apalmemnom's is just on a whole other level. It really feels like actual DLC. It's completely craftable and getting it is pretty neat, too!

     

     

    So with all that in mind, is there anything else I could do to complete the experience for this other character of mine?

     

    What are the go-to mods in general when it comes to feeling like it fits right into the game?

  16. It has nothing to do with the model. You cannot modify the form record for the Sturdy Caravan Shotgun, period.

     

    The game engine will not load any record overrides from any plugins for injected records. It loads the record data once and then fails to resolve the FormID each time that an overriding record is loaded from a subsequent plugin.

     

    Blame Obsidian for an awful design choice that I'm sure someone thought was clever at the time.

     

     

    Well, in case you missed that part, i can modify the Sturdy Caravan Shotgun (add weapon modifications). But I can no longer do that once I change the model. So i'm not sure what you're referring to.

  17. Yes, i'm talking about adding weapons modifications in-game. I've successfully change the model. This thread is about just adding weapon mods to the Sturdy Caravan Shotgun. I thought maybe the unique model is getting in the way. Which I think it clearly is. Because I could modify the shotgun when it has the default model. So many complications over a silly weapon. Wish they'd just make a CLEAN model from the start. Screw-top POS... Can't stand it.
