  1. Just as the title says .. where does Vortex write all of its files. I have files in my user profile (which I absolutely do not want anything related to my games). I have files in the e:\vortex\(game)\mods (staging directory) . I have files in a download directory. I haven't bothered trying to deploy anything .. I assume it writes files into the actual game directory . Why all of these stinking directories .. and why can't I stage my mods on a separate drive from the game drive? I used to be able to do that in NMM. btw .. I did do a search .. exactly as the title says .. got nothing relevant.
  2. I know this is a bit late for a reply .. but revival has happened .. https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/1499?tab=description .. It does not have the extra features of triple bronze (creating other metals in the forge) but it works to create bronze and it does not have the old issue of multiplying the multiplier every login. Edit: And it should be compatible with other recipe adding mods as it only modifies the existing bronze recipe .. if another mod modifies the bronze recipe, there there will likely be a conflict.
  3. Downloaded Vortex today. Decided to give it another go to manage Fallout 76. Got it up and running, downloaded a half dozen mods (ba2 versions) and depoyed the mods. Everything was in the Fallout 76 data folder. Cool. Shut down to take my kid to his scout meeting and came back, ran up vortex ran the game and nothing was there. Checked the data directory and all the ba2 links are gone. What happened?
  4. I notice that there are a couple of mechs not showing up in the mechs and vehicles category even though, when you search for them, the page says they are in that category .. The Archer and the new Nightstar mechs do not show up when I go directly to the mechs and vehicles category. I'm using the latest Firefox browser. Edit : is anyone having problems with BloodyDoves files being displayed in the mech category? His Champion mech was released on the 27th and I can't find it unless I do a google search for it.
  5. In response to post #66625896. #66627691 is also a reply to the same post. Villonklir has a point. I've tried to run RT a few times and had nothing but problems. Especially with missions not executing once you get to the destination. I've gone thru the configuration files and seen how much of a mish-mash it all is. I also disagree with a lot of the changes to weapons and equipment. I'd probably be less jaded on the mod if the one time I had pointed out inconsistencies with heat and recoil, LadyAlekto hadn't mocked me and lock the thread without any kind of reasonable response. Kind of like your response chidosity. It is these kind of responses that make the new generation of modders and developers look like a bunch of children in the eyes of old-timers like me. As to you Villonklir, if you are going to insult a project, add some reasons for your opinion if you want an intelligent response. 6. I haven't had any problems with modtek or btml yet. Any issues I've had are always with the mods themselves. Unfortunately not all mods are created to be run thru that system. A lot of them require copying files directly into the StreamingAssets/data directory. And I have had no luck at all with mods that overwrite the VersionManifest.csv file. Because of the issues I've had I stay with modtek mods. Here is the best installation guide if you haven't already seen it : https://github.com/BattletechModders/ModTek/wiki/The-Drop-Dead-Simple-Guide-to-Installing-BTML-&-ModTek-&-ModTek-mods I also stay away from Roguetech. While I am sure it is a great piece of work .. there are way too many issues with it and if you criticize it in anyway you get called a whiner and locked before any discussion can be made on your post.
  7. In NMM you could rename mods (display name) and you could move them to another category. I have been playing with Vortex for the past hour and have not found a way to do either. It would be nice to view mods in a category tree as well (I didn't see that as an option - doesn't mean it is not there .. just means I didn't see it). Something that would be nice is if I could drag all of my NMM mod files into the download directory for vortex (I like that vortex notices the files when started) and then sorts any new files into proper categories (might require a connection to check a database on nexus) or a button to sort them after vortex has found them .. and/or sorted if you drag and drop the mod file into the UI ... not sure what meta data the mod files have in them .. maybe it would be required that the mod filenames have not been modified at all. And yes .. I know that there is an import feature .. but the import feature seems to want everything installed (virtual directory) and at this time I do not have any mods actually installed. The import feature does not recognize that I have all of the mods stored on a separate drive than the game/virtual directory. It would also be nice if the default number of dl threads defaulted at 4 like NMM. Daedus Wolfe
  8. My problem had to do with logging in via NMM. I was able to download mods manually, but NMM was not able to log in to handle the file(s). At this time I am not having a problem, though.
  9. I have a request for a mesh of the anchorage sleeved combat armor without the armor pieces and belt (belt pouches). Preferably in two (upper and lower bodies) or more parts (boots, sleeves, etc). And the mask without the helmet. Thanks for listening! Daedus
