  1. These day based cutoffs are currently filtering on date > n days ago at the beginning of the day (0000 hours). We'll review this, thanks for raising.
  2. Who knew, modding is fun! @LummoxJR has posted some styles for this as well. This might get you started: https://github.com/j-m-harris/nexusmods-stylus/blob/main/classic.js No comment on the new UI intended, this is not reflective of any internal development, no warranty implied or given, etc. This is entirely a quick hack, not tested at different breakpoints, against accessibility guidelines, etc. But it is fun to play with.
  3. We're adding a preference to allow users to choose their default quick search, expect it to land in the next week or so. Please don't bombard me with "sure but what about X?!"
  4. On the mods listing page you should find that in the left hand side bar. Quick search on other items (collections, images, videos) will also match on their description, and we hope to add that to mods as well.
  5. Just for fun, a Stylus extension for list view. https://github.com/j-m-harris/nexusmods-stylus/blob/main/mods-grid-list-view.js Nothing official about this, do not construe as a comment on anything, no warranty, yadda yadda.
  6. Date range filter due for desktop tomorrow.
  7. This is not my primary role but there's no mystery here. Of the top of my head: hotjar surveys, our forums, reddit, discord.
  8. The data is a representative sample, I do not accept that means the same thing as flawed. Whether it's mostly negative isn't a matter of opinion, only fact- it isn't. I know that doesn't chime with your (valid) opinions, but it is the case. I'll continue to reiterate though, of course we are still going to improve things.
  9. It's a hypothesis for sure! Please rest assured there will be plenty of debriefing and discussion around the nature and volume of feedback received from each channel.
  10. You must know something I don't! In reality the hotjar powered polls which ran during and after the beta were available to all site users. However once the quota is used up then the poll is no longer available. This of course means only limited conclusions can be drawn from the results, and we are not blind to that.
  11. Sure, I can help with that. This forum is only one of the channels of communication on which we have received feedback. The overall reception is judged from all of the channels of communication.
  12. They are reading this, and reddit, and discord, and polls feedback. There have been replies from various staff on all those channels. There will be continued comms on this I am quite sure. No one at NexusMods has said 40% is more than 60%, that's nonsensical. Desktop is the focus, as that's where most of the usage comes from. Mobile users account for 40% of the site usage, and so they are also accounted for.
  13. Right, sorry for the miscommunication, I do mean the main site homepage. That'll be served by the new framework soon and there won't be a web component required.
  14. I omitted to mention, if you're looking to mod this then you'll find the web component is only used on the pages currently served by the older framework- primarily the homepage and mod detail pages. The homepage will be updated to the new framework soon (we're talking weeks, not months). I don't have a timeline for the mod detail pages.
  15. Yeah I've seen a bit of FUD around this. It exists because it solves a problem, and unsurprisingly we are using it because we had that problem! We wanted to re-use implementation from a newer framework on our old interface and we found that a web component was the best approach on balance. There was no intention to make it difficult for anyone to modify things. You'll just have to trust me on that.
  16. I'm not looking to diminish your opinion and it's not my call to make on all the issues raised, but there are responses from the dev team in this thread and other communication channels. We also ran hotjar polls both during and after the beta which captured responses from the wider userbase. Purely stated for fact, and not judgement on whether that is sufficient for you.
  17. Thanks for clarifying, do you have links to the other mods you feel should've been included in the results? That will help us improve the search. We have added wildcard searching to images, videos and collections but for mods this was already the case. Perhaps those other mod titles have changed since? We are aware that some users expect stemmed token matches as well (e.g. 'fleets' search finds a mod including only 'fleet') and we're looking to combine that approach. Wildcard searching is actually more computationally expensive but it's been preferred so far as it seems to align with what most users expect (with the nexusmods dataset at least). If none of that 'behind the scenes' information matters to you- tl;dr we are always looking to improve search results. Update: I ran 'faster fleet' through the old search endpoint and got the same three results. This makes sense to me as the index schema hasn't changed. Regardless, if you know of mods you would've expected to have been found then please do help us (and the community) by stating them. Thanks!
  18. We are working on a feature to allow users to set a preference for this.
  19. We run a website that's all about modding! You're modding a website? Have at it! Of course we can't easily support any issues you run into with a modded setup, but it's your browser and device. Go for it.
  20. Please do give examples of what text you searched for, and the mods you know to exist that were not found as you expected. That helps us improve the search.
  21. I could be wrong about it being a search index sync issue by the way, just shooting from the hip. At the very least it's a problem perceived with the discrepancy between having sorted by a certain date property, and then seeing 'x days ago' results in a non linear order right?
  22. There certainly are some negative (and rude!) reactions to it, but feedback over all channels has not been negative overall. I know we can all place our own weight on which channels of communication are more important, and I know some people will flat out not believe me- but it actually is the case. Of course that doesn't mean we aren't going to be improving things where needed.
  23. Ok thanks, I can see that. The mod tile now shows the latest known value, but the search index clearly hasn't been updated promptly as is expected. (One could argue whether the mod tile should show the search index value or the latest value.. ) My expectation is that this will be a high priority to resolve ASAP.
  24. Per post 1 in the thread: "By following standards like WCAG we’re creating a site that isn’t just inclusive but also easier and more enjoyable for everyone." So if we're not, it's a bug (or at least a problem!) and we would expect to address that (in due course, based on prioritisation and capacity).
  25. I accept that you feel a compromise was not all considered. That generally isn't what I see from the discussions my colleagues have and the work they do. I get that might not assuage your feeling here, but perhaps it's something. We are trying (really!) to be clear on our mission here- from post 1 in this thread: "Improved Accessibility", "We believe modding should be for everyone", "Visually accessible colours"- so your requests are consistent with our goals. Clearly we aren't meeting your expectations here. We'll keep trying.
