  1. In response to post #43256595. I am not a member of the nexus team, but I'm sure the new manager will be available to all once it's released and won't require premium membership. As for the other question - it's not available yet. Keep your eye on the nexus sites and you'll see more news for it in time.
  2. Good article - I agree with 99.9%. However, it's not "theft". No one is well-served by misusing this emotive term. What's happening is copyright infringement. Not theft. I can understand mod-authors feeling "robbed", but Robin, I think the community would be better served if you used the correct term. It's even made explicitly clear by the fact that the process to resolve the issues (crappy though I think it is on Bethesda's part) is the DMCA - the Digital Millenium *Copyright* Act.
  3. Thanks for the reply Xylozi. However you will find that perks apply effects in a number of different ways - some through the use of Ability Spells, some through the use of Entry Points and others that use both. As an example, check out the unplayable perk "mod_armor_LessStagger".
  4. I've been trying to add reduced stagger to the "Rooted" perk using TES5Edit. However, one thing is putting a halt to my gallop - When you look at Fallout4.esm in TES5Edit, Entry Points for perks don't show any values under EPFD - Data. In Skyrim.esm, this is the place where tha acutal value would go (e.g. "0.5" to reduce stagger by half). So my question is: If you have tried editing a perk's Entry Point value. did it work?
  5. Thanks for the update. Interesting reading, as always. Congratulations on all the successes to you and the team, and thanks for all the hard work! By the way - I would say that, for as long as you are up for it, Dark0ne, you should keep the community manager role. Hand the role to someone else if you want/need to, but I certainly don't need someone with a happy-go-lucky attitude, sticking "awesome!" into every other sentence. I like your bullshit-free posts and their humour! And I like the hearing about what's happening from the person at whom the buck stops. Happy 2015!
  6. Thumbs up for the endorsement reminder. I like it, but I've two suggestions: 1 - add the game the mod is for to the mod title and 2 - add some CSS to differentiate lines in the endorsement lists so I don't accidentally click on the wrong one.
  7. Thanks for all your efforts. The new 'support any game' feature is a great move - well done!
  8. I'm having a very frustrating time trying to make some item effect changes on Armor Enhancements. A simple example: This works: <ability name="Diamond Armor Enhancement _Stats"> <igni_burn_chance mult="false" always_random="false" min="0.05" max="0.05"/> </ability> But this doesn't: <ability name="Diamond Armor Enhancement _Stats"> <aard_knockdown_chance mult="false" always_random="false" min="0.05" max="0.05" type="bonus"/> </ability> The code for each is copied directly from the 'geralt_basic.xml' file, but one works in-game and the other doesn't. When I say 'doesn't work', my test is to go into the game and look at the Diagram for the item. For example 1 (Igni), the effects is listed, for example 2 (Aard) it is not. Can anyone help me out?
  9. @potatochip: I think you're being a bit unfair with the 'petty' remark. While I get the idea of promoting the benefits of paying rather than reducing the benefits for those not paying, it reads as though you didn't see the part about what it would mean to Dark0ne et al if every ordinary user made that small payment - certainly the results would not be 'petty'. It also seems a bit mean to say that the network shouldn't expand - do I detect a note of "supporting other peoples' games is making my experience worse"? Anyway, I think it's Skyrim that has really put the nexus network to the test, from what Dark0ne has written before (though you may not be here for Skyrim). My comments above don't mean I don't support the changes being talked about here either. While I said I 'get it', I don't think there's anything wrong with what Dark0ne described.
  10. @lennonn: Not helpful. @del_boy: Huh?! The entire top of the site is taken up with hotfiles! @vidguy: Again - Huh?! The default front page has Hotfiles (with pics), Latest files (with pics) and News (if you havent changed it). The difference is that OTHER people, who want something ELSE as their default news can have it. What's the problem? @MasaVK: Also not helpful 'horrendous' comment. As for being 'perfectly fine' - the new version is more customisable for other people. Personally I generally like it. The hotfiles section is much tighter now, though I'd like to see the spacing and/or sizing for the thumbnails tweaked so they take up the full width available. Also there's something a bit off about the styling of the tab controls - the normal-state and current-state versions clash. (Edit: Just took a look at this in Firebug, and I actually think it looks better with no styling at all, beyond the colour difference for the active (current) tab...)
