  1. Script lag is a CPU/RAM issue from my experience, you gotta let go of a mod that is using up a lot of scripts You have Civil War with OBIS installed. NPC generators will make your game very hefty and I always see people with these sort of issues with mods like them. Their great and all but that if you don't like lag don't use them.
  2. If you use mod organizer go to "INI Editor" after clicking this button:
  3. *shameless promotion* Yea I'm working on a decently sized overhaul myself, very incomplete although give it a looksy  http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75753 But aside from my stuff there are people who are blowing me out of the water daily.
  4. Alternate Start - Live Another Life
  5. I'm making a mod and I would like to port some buildings over to Skyrim from Oblivion. I was wondering because Skywin and Skyblivion mods required the original game to be installed.
  6. Super awesome help on arrays, I'm screenshotting and saving this for later reference, you guys are great. I'm surprised you figured out all the conventions so quickly. Some real intelligence in these forums.
  7. I try not to always complain. But sheesh this one has had me stumped for days. It compiles just fine but in game only if my "DaedricPower" is over 2500 will it do anything. Anything lower and nothing seems to fire. I see that my "if" and "&&" statements aren't working. I want it to detect that if "DaedricPower" is between those to numbers (I.E. >=100 and <300), add the upgraded spell version, remove the current.
  8. It's well known Mod Organizer's Creation Kit can't edit scripts from the native editor. But my issue is, that I need to add a script at the end of a Quest Dialogue or after the Actor says this line. Here's what I mean: You can't compile through MO so you can't add those scripts in that area. I need to know a script or alternative that can get a script to initiate at the end of this dialogue.
  9. Not to put down the author, but Sounds of Skyrim, in all of my 200+ mod load orders, bogs down my game dramatically and was known to crash me in certain cells, randomly. Audio Overhaul is More lightweight, updated, and compatible with large load orders. Warzones is another mod tough on performance. Make sure you DDSopt your files down to save you some memory. Make sure you also try out the Safety Load plugin alongside SKSE (they do different things) If you run Mod Organizer, type in "-forcesteamloader" in the arguments section of the "SKSE" application thingy.
  10. I wish I saw this one sooner but this is very helpful moving forward and will save me a couple hours.
  11. Every mod is created because the modder wanted something in the game them-self. Its counter-productive to try and meet a request for that type of thing. Modding is an artisitic pursuit. If you feel like something is a chore than don't do it. The best mods aren't the best textured or highest poly ones. There the creative ones.
  12. I really don't know how its done. SetValueInt doesn't give me any options to manipulate the variable beyond just setting it to 1 number. I'm trying to make a "Stat" that can be added each time the Player meets the condition. Is there a way to handle this? Like maybe in a Quest?
  13. You don't need a preset, just install ENB alone and check the Nexus for something called ENBoost. It boosts performance.
  14. I've installed skyrim 4 times over and on each ran 240+ plugins 200+ mods. I have finally found the stable build (30fps Capped, HW Ambient Occlusion, HD textures, etc..) I run all the so called "script heavy" mods and such so let me give you the run down on what you need to know: Incompatibilities: There is no cure to fix any specific load order. Use the mod organizer, TES5Edit, WryeBash. Running a big load order means you are basically a modder yourself and nows the time to learn how this engine works. Most people running large load orders need to make their own compatibility patches at some point. Learn how to clean mods, set aside a day to get a basic run-down of these tools and you won't need to look back. Keep track of EVERYTHING they may modify and ALWAYS read the hell out of the Compatibility section of their page on the nexus (If they have one). Don't install old mods without checking the posts and see if users are complaining. For a big list you have to sacrifice the "unclean" mods that will break compatibility with like 100+ things. Install the most lightweight overhauls you can do with like EFF follower mod, iNeed, and basically all of Chesko's mods. Don't install the footprint mod if you have over 200. A 155+ modlist will work with footprints just fine but I've realized that engine just gets taxed with so many simultaneous Update() being called. NPCs: When running alot of mods, you need to make sure that NPC textures are BSAopt'd (Google is your friend)- To 1k texture size. it will not affect visual quality if u don't have a space aged-monitor. On the script end I've found certain mods will cripple any load when paired with Interesting NPCs (Im sure your familiar) and other population-increasing mods. Textures: People forget how important VRAM can be. Look, keep your textures BSAopt'd because that fixed all my crashing issues. Models: The easiest part. Nothing for this. Audio Overhauls: DONT USE SOUNDS OF SKYRIM KAY? Its a great mod but it had the habbit of crashing a couple of my installs, I switched to the more compatible AOS 2. ALWAYS look for the most compatible version of a mod you would like when doing this. Keep a lists of all the mods you installed somewhere you need their nexus pages handy. Crashes/Bugs: Easy. Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Patch. You know this. But what you may not realize is that SafetyLoad is still a viable tool with SKSE for some systems (Mine Included and alot of other people too) If using mod organizer, for your SKSE file, add the argument "-Forcesteamloader" and your memory patches are up. SafetyLoad does not do the same thing as the memory patch. Install ENB from enbdev. If you use Nvidia look up NVIDIA set up for skyrim and see if everything is right. I'm sure there is an AMD version too. Video Card tips: Set a custom fan profile to keep it cool. High GPU temps can contribute to throttling (When it changes its voltage or power usage % automatically). Throttling can crash you. When testing your game, Press Shift+Enter and go to the profiler, keep on eye on that video memory usage, it's telling you how much memory all these mods are running. LAST THING: Use DynDoLod if you are serious about getting a good load order. It helps performance while giving you great visuals but it takes ALOT of time and effort to set up. Read up on it.
  15. If your using mod organizer you can simply install both and override the textures of one and keep the traits. Just move the textures lower on the mod order (The Right side not the left) If not, just find the textures for one and cut-and-paste.
  16. Thanks! It's motivating seeing there's interest in my little project. I'm covering alot of ground on this.
  17. The Daedra Mod A modification for Skyrim http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/75753/? Version 0.0777 This is my first mod that I'm deciding to release once I have the features put together. For an easier read I've broken down what you need to know: What does this mod do? The mod does much more than just adds a new race. It uses Dremora assets as a base but does not replace them. What you have here is a unique, lore-friendly race that comes equipped with several scripted spells, abilities, and superior gameplay for those seeking a more interesting play-through instead of prancing around saving the world. You will be able to travel to your first original plane of oblivion entitled the "Jaws of Oblivion" -basically purgatory. This is the level where you obtain your familiarity with Oblivion as a character and learn your first set of powers. What are it's features? You can customize your own Daedric Prince through a variety of options and summon Daedric minions of varying ranks (Churl, Caitiff, etc..), and varying roles (Mage, Archer, Warrior). Your Daedric Prince will gain power as you wreak havoc across Tamriel. You can Summon a full suit of Daedric Armor (Thats right Summon it) and Open the dormant gates of Oblivion that has been sealed shut in the 3rd Era. I plan to add a feature to enslave NPCs and add them to your very own Plane of Oblivion! You gain these powers through "Energy Veils" that have been set up in the Oblivion planes. The first few are free, the next few will require diligence.. Not a problem for a Daedric Prince! How long will it take? There's no time frame I'm setting for this but progress is coming fast, I've gotten pretty good at this stuff and I'm currently making models for the Oblivion Planes and Gates to Oblivion. For now This page will be a placeholder for something that will get much bigger in due time. Enjoy this play-test video if you care: Test Videos Older Versions Current Ye Olde Update List Update 1 Spawn-able Oblivion Gates! (Finally) Fixed the new spells, added some more. 18. Wassup! Im a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu dude I totally get what you mean with the disappointing Combat. I'm currently working on my own Race Mod but I totally think I can try some of your ideas.
  19. Hey again, I've managed to stabilize my Skyrim pretty good but Windhelm always trolls me with the massive amount of NPCs/scripts it runs at once, causing the laggy ass papyrus engine to crash. SO I've tried a lot of different things and I have noticed that I have over 3gb of free VRAM yet whenever Skyrim hits 1gb of memory usage, I crash. Basically I have too many script heavy mods. Does anyone know the most script heavy of all these:
  20. Almost always a memory issue. I had/have the same issue and lowering getting the alternative to the 2kHD textures helped. Do whatever you can to save memory and remove some script heavy mods.. That's what I can recommend.
  21. I got the same card.. But don't you want to actually play the game? 11fps is like Slow-mo. Also you can change your fan profile through a steam application called EVGA something. Just look for EVGA, you'll be able to up the speed of the fan, thus making your card cooler and keeping it alive for longer (It was a 500$ card for me so Im making this last)
  22. Well I always go to other mods and study how they were made for my questions on how certain things are done. Check the "A quality world map" mod and open it up in CK, see where he made the changes, then, make your own. That should be a good starting place.
