  1. Both games are good, I prefer to accept MW2's flaws by playing BFBC2. I play MW2 to fix the flaws of BFBC2. They're both great games, so it shouldn't stop me, or anyone from playing both and people should stop saying one is better than the other forcefully. (Not this thread, mind you, but quite a lot of people are saying things amongst the lines of "Ugh, why do you play this shat game, go play MW2/BFBC2 instead!" Which is kinda starting to piss me off.
  2. I blame Australia for moving to Bad Company 2, it just isn't that fun playing alone/with 7 people in a server anymore. Pretty much forced Bad Company 2 down my throat.
  3. Like the title, something just felt wrong when I first pressed F1 in Oblivion. It looked like it was SPECIFICALLY designed for the consoles, moving the analog stick left or right to go between your inventory, to your spells, to your statistics, up and down to go through the list of options in them. In Morrowind, you could access everything with a few clicks, in Oblivion PC users are pretty much forced to click 3 - 5 times to equip/un-equip, access a spell, etc. While Daggerfall did use a similar inventory/spell system to Oblivion, that was mainly because it was only 100-ish pixels. The inventory is made specially for the consoles. Also, just why do they let half of the screen be taken up by our character portrait? :\ Next, the newer RPG gamers are getting... Dumber? In Morrowind, your melee fighter couldn't start casting spells at the very start of the game, you would constantly fail. In Oblivion, you could put no points into a certain school of magic, still be able to cast "simple" spells... Not in Morrowind. Morrowind had rather specific weapon proficiencies, long-blade users wouldn't be used to using a blunt weapon, axe-users wouldn't be used to using a short sword. All while in Oblivion, if you're good with a long blade, you could use a short blade. "Blunt" means being good at one weapon in skill makes you good at ALL weapons in blunt. Example : Being good with a heavy, two-handed warhammer means you're completely used to a mace. This honestly makes no sense. Oblivion became quite easy because of this, even if you install mods such as DarN UI, FCOM, the problem still exists, we still lose half of our screen to our oversized character portrait, we can still cast spells with a level 5 skill in magic, and now you can manually block. Manual block pretty much makes the block skill useless, since every twenty-five levels simply adds a new special ability involving blocking, or a passive extra to blocking. Don't get me wrong though, Oblivion IS a great game, still loads of fun, has more mods, and can be more random than Morrowind. The only flaws are that it is too easy for people who previously played games like Daggerfall (make a mistake in character creation? You're screwed/gonna have a rather hard time through the entire game.) Oblivion is also graphically better (even with Morrowind Graphics Extender installed), has a better persuasion menu, (felt like) better sneak mechanics, but still has less join-able factions. Actually, you can join ALL the factions in Oblivion while in Morrowind you couldn't be master of the fighter's guild and also master of the mage's guild... Nor could you be the thief guildmaster, fighter's guild master, mage's guild master, etc. etc. Another rather disappointing thing in Oblivion, is the lack of silt striders/boats/fast travel systems. That is all I have to say in my little (rant?) theory. Please, do not get me wrong... I DO think Oblivion is a great game, and no, I'm not a "old elitist" type who has an old computer and is just jealous of the high requirements of the new games, I am not like that.
  4. Daggerfall, Diablo is a must-have, and is an amazing RPG. The other games people have suggested are pretty decent too, and you should grab them. Daggerfall is free to download now and is pretty easy to install and play. Pretty much the largest RPG yet. (As long as you don't mind the graphics)
  5. I vote Damnation for wasting my 50$. Terrible game.
  6. Not to disturb your RP, but is it just me, or almost all of the RPs inactive as of now?
  7. Making Morrowind look better: MGE (Morrowind Graphics Extender) http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5535 Gives you HDR (OMFG!), etc. Vality's Bitter Coast Mod (Naise trees) http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...iew=Mods.Detail (Only at slow summit I believe) Vality's Ascadian Isles Mod (Moar naise trees) http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...014&id=5981 Vality's Grass (Still grass if you don't have MGE, animated if you got MGE!) http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View...014&id=7762 Better Heads but I use Better Visages or whatever it's called, Better Bodies, Better Clothes, CanadianIce's Robe Replacer (something), Visual Pack 3.0, Classical Monster replacers/DarkNut's monster replacer, Dark Nut's weapon replacer, Misc Items Replacer, Better Books/Book Jackets, Morrowind Comes Alive + Living cities of Vvardenfall (has a patch, a Morrowind version of Oblivion's radiantAI), illuminated windows (like Illumination Within from Oblivion), and Texture Fix (gets rid of seams). That's all I can remember, there's probably more. (I didn't include sound-helping mods)
  8. ElricM... Ahh. I agree, Fileplanet sucks daedric rear ends, but because most people use Summit instead of TheAwesomeNexus, it'll have to be like that. I used it a few minutes ago to re-download my K-Potions mod, working fine.
  9. Why does most everyone I know IRL and over the internet collects clothes in Oblivion anyway? :verymad:
  10. The world will end when the sun explodes, in like a million years... Thank goodness I'm not the only intelligent person who actually believes that the world won't cease to exist in 2012...
  11. Windows Vista, the most annoying computer experience ever. Your specs should be more than enough to play BF2... Try logging in as another user, almost all of my games can't be played on my old user account for some reason.
  12. I ticked all of them, and pressed the vote button. ^_^ I'm thinking of getting Dragon Age, though. Maybe...
  13. Aww, just when I was gonna make an application for the explosives nerd... D: *grumble*
  14. Saber, people play Morrowind since it's a great game. This has helped me to make my Morrowind gaming experience more... Sexy? Appealing?
  15. you have to change the rule about not having anything better then steel. I have been in rps for a year now and i know that the less rules you make better it is for rp and you will get more users. My first rp had no rules at all!!! it was one of the most popular rps on nexus and don't expect that everyone will follow crazy rules (not that you have crazy rules) to be in the rp because theres alot of rps now and not alot of users willing to participate in them Been in RPs for a year and still don't capitalize the i? No rules = godmodding Godmodding where people kill each other = more flame than a flamer in Fallout 3 with a full canister... i dont carry em all at once i got a little hidden base where i stash things And you got these weapons... How?
  16. You are accepted, both of you... After you change your applications a bit! The ability to destroy an entire city is a big no-no without help from his other fellow battlemages, my friend. If he was a "experienced war-mage" or something still probably wouldn't be able to do that. Having two ranged weapons, three in-hand weapons, and another ebony offhand sword for... Blocking? Is not allowed. You MIGHT become more powerful later on, but no uber things, please...
  17. Me shooting a grenade whilst in A.T.S (it should be Assisted Targeting System since Vault Assisted doesn't make sense to me. D:) that just left a raider's hand and killed the three other raiders near her.
  18. I do. I'll let you guess my really hard to guess username... Maybe it's towards the left... I like to be spec-ops and sabotage the Commander's stuff (APC, Artillery, etc) with the help of my support friend to protect me and give me some more C4. Bwahahaha.
  19. Me and my friend have a list of ways to die, up to number thirty-four-thousand, three hundred fourty eight. We used the deaths from movies, games, etc. Example: Putting in blunt and blade as your major skill in Oblivion, light armour and heavy armour, etc.
  20. ... Wtf! There's such thing as a Oblivion Construction Set wiki!? Why have you forsaken me, Google.co.th !? I'm making sure I use Google.com from now on... Anyway, I learned from making OVER 9000 mistakes in the CS. Just the same as how in Oblivion I make a bunch of new characters at the start each and every time.
  21. Apparently, I've seen that popular copy and paste in the nexusforums too many times...
  22. Introduction It has been four years since the champion of Cyrodiil passed away. Now, war between the races have begun. Some are allied with the others, others are alone. It is unknown why, or how did this started. Some say the wood elves from Valenwood lost a large portion of the forest from the Bretons casting fire magic. The Bretons claimed they didn't do it. The wood elves were too angry to listen to the pathetic excuses of the Bretons, and declared war on them. The elves being a closely knitted family, resulted in the dark elves and the high elves joining in the war against the Bretons. They, in turn allied with the Imperials, and with the help of the Imperial Legion, the odds were against the elves... A wise, old Breton living in Skyrim sighed. He discussed it with his young apprentice. "I do not think the Bretons really did do it." "Nonsense! It's our fellow Bretons' fault that we have to go to war like this!" "Don't you feel it? Something more evil is afoot. Something... Strange. Ever since the passing of the champion of cyrodiil, things have been different..." "You crazy old man. I don't care what you say." His young apprentice walked away, back into the small cabin they called 'home'. The former arch-mage sighed. Setting: Four years after the passing of the Champion of Cyrodiil, in Tamriel. The Factions: The Mystic Legion: The Bretons and the Imperial have joined forces, and with the magical expertise of the Bretons and the great military force from the Imperial Legion, they have become one of the greatest armies. They are also aided by the argonians of black marsh, considering how the dark elves of Morrowind constantly sold them as slaves. The Elves: The Wood elves, High Elves, and Dark elves joining together to fight against the newly found Mystic Legion. Rules: You can either be a mercenary, joining to help or you can be one of the soldiers in the army. You are not allowed to be a high ranking officer without me giving you the chance after analyzing your application. No godmodding, the highest metal type you can have is steel, considering how expensive things are. (Reference from Oblivion, "they fined me five coins for littering. Littering! I barely make that much a year!) Harm towards another player in the same faction is prohibited, if we by chance had a war between each faction, then minor harm is allowed. Allow them to retaliate in a fair way. No killing, severely injuring is fine. No 100 slashes in two seconds with dual wielding daedric claymores. I have a storyline planned out, I will post who is allowed to change our storyline for a brief amount of time. Application Skeleton: Name: Age: Race: Appearance: Personality: Equipment: Faction: (if you're a soldier) Karma: History: Accepted Applications: Steven917 , Hector Hroskar Name: Hector Hroskar Age: Thirty-One (measured from the universal aging system, so no 129 year old but is only 21 years old in High Elf whatever) Race: Nord Appearance: Pale complexion, loose long blond hair which goes a bit past his shoulders, muscular frame, dark blue eyes, scar going across his right eye, and a rather large scar on his arm, which he covers up. His casual wears consists of a long sleeved green shirt, along with burgundy linens. Personality: Fiery, cocky, overconfident, bad mouth. Tough guy attitude. Equipment: A iron cuirass in well shape, leather boots and leather gauntlets, and his normal burgundy linens to hide the unarmored legs. Relatively large iron battle axe. Faction: ... Karma: Neutral, but leans a bit towards "good" History: Hector was the son of a noble family living in the woods of Valenwood. When his home caught fire, he escaped and the wood elves put out the fire. He was raised by a wood elf who's name was never known, and was only called to as "father" Hector was used to the use of axes and blunt weapons, as all Nords are. He also had experience in restorative magic and the bow. When he reached manhood, his foster father left him and he decided to become a mercenary. He traveled across Cyrodiil, taking on bodyguard duties, raiding, and the like. He showed great respect to the Champion of Cyrodiil, for he knew that if that one person wasn't in this world... Then Tamriel would already be flooded with daedra. Now that war has broken out between the elves and the Legion, Hector is in a mixed group of mercenaries and soldiers in the elven army...
