  1. This is exactly why I never got to play Oblivion modded. I've tried a ton of times and put in a ton of research and not once was I able to get a stable game going. Very disappointing. I'm ready to give Skyrim a shot but I'm going to go on the conservative side.
  2. You can actually lock the framerate at whatever you want with NVSR, I keep mine locked at 40 since 30 looks a bit laggy to me. You actually don't need to lock the framerate at all you can just apply the 64hz fix. I'm sure that the lower framerate causes the game to take longer to crash due to what sounds like a memory leak.
  3. Fellout was one of my few absolutely must have mods for FO3. The one thing that I didn't like was the obscenely dark nights. I thought that the SOTD (scared of the dark) plugin was perfect. Is there such a thing for Fellout New Vegas?
  4. The Morrowind modding community isn't even dead. I wouldn't expect for the FO3 modding community to die anytime soon. The game is based off of the same engine. There are some bugs, more so than FO3 at this point but I've only had NV crash twice in almost 40 hours of playtime.
  5. Calling BS on that quote. Not that there should be any problem with New Vegas, since there's no difference between retail, Steam or Direct2drive versions. Really? Here is a quote from the OBSE readme. You might want to figure out how digital works. If Steam didn't provide any support they would also be listed in the readme. The FOSE readme
  6. There are some really good tips here. That you should check out.
  7. I am currently using FCOM, Realistic Leveling, Progress, RBP, and Midas Magic but am finding the magic to be a bit underpowered. I tried out LAME and while I do like what it does I find the magic to be pretty overpowered at least in earlier levels. I am trying out Supreme Magica which seems like the way to go for me so far but it is really difficult to tell from the early levels. Which magic overhaul or combination of would I find to be the most balanced through out the game since it's very hard to tell based on nothing nut the early levels. :thanks:
  8. I am getting some pretty severe slowdowns that I defenetly don't see with the vanilla version. I uninstalled the Terrain, rocks, Megaton, and Rivit City texture packs and it helped but my framerates still dip down lower than they should. I think that there may be a video memory leak since I was following some enclave outcasts while looking over a pretty open distance when suddenly my framerates dipped below 20fps and stayed there so I ALt-TAbed out and back into the game and suddenly I was seeing 60fps again and it took a minute or two to see another slowdown. Sadly the "memory leak" is a wild guess since I have had the game stop responding after I fell off of a bridge and died and the game stopped responding while loading up a save. I also just had a crash on exit. I am running a Q9650 at 3.825ghz, 4x2gb DDR2 at 1066mhz on a P5Q Deluxe and a GTX280. I have pulled my overclocks and that acctually seems to make things worse so. I'm lost as to what to do.
  9. I am experiencing the same issue. I am running the game maxed out but I should easily be able to, I can't figure out what is causing these slowdowns. I'm running a GTX280, with a Q9650 @ 3.825ghz and 8gb of ram at 1066mhz on Vista x64. I have tried different drivers and sadly since I'm using the Steam releace I can't roll back to a different patch. I'm just out of ideas.
  10. I was using a similar load order and was having a couple of conflicts, mostly with Armor. I wasn't using the GNR, sprint, and UPP mods and was loading WMK mods after MMM.esp, though. I'll download the UF3P and load that first and the GNR mod after FOOK, thanks. I'm also thinking of using Fellout. Where do you think that I should load that? :thanks: I just clicked the link in your sig. Good stuff. 11. I am new to Fallout modding and Oblivion modding for that matter. I just installed a few mods and made up the load order but I'm sure that there is something wrong. I could really use some opionions on this load order. I'm sorry for any misspellings and/or bad grammer but it's late and I'm pretty tired. Anyways thanks in advance. 12. Sorry I should learn to read. All the info that I needed to know is in the FOSE readme. If anyone knows how to do away with the green flashing fps counter that would be a big help, thanks.
  13. I have that odd "stutter" if thats what you want to call it that has been reported tons of times. Anyways if I set iFPSClamp to 60 in Fallout.ini it runs like a charm. I am trying to get that FPS limiter to cap my framerate at 40fps and it dosen't seem to work. I have tried linking it to FOSE and Fallout.exe and the batch file will launch the game but it dosen't do anything. My framerate stays the same. Am I doing something wrong? I am on 1.6 btw. Thanks
