  1. My Skyrim folder is in the default C:Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common SKSE is in the Skyrim folder. Everything is installed correctly. The problem lies not with my installation of the game and SKSE, since all previous versions have worked fine. There are only two problems I can think of right now: One or more of my plugins that run with SKSE 1.6.16 need to update tp the 1.7.01 format (which I have been getting all of those mods together and will probably test tomorrow) Something changed between 1.6.16 to 1.7.0 that is just enough that my computer isn't willing to reload everything with the changes made in the update.
  2. I downloaded it from Steam. Just in case it wasn't updated, I reinstalled it yesterday...why?
  3. I know this, but at the time it was a 'why not?' situation... will do. EDIT: So I did as instructed and I couldn't find any error statements, but I've never looked at these logs before. In the spoilers are direct copies of my log files: skes_loader: skse_steam_loader: The only thing I find suspicious is this line: Considering I am running 1.9.32 of Skyrim. Can someone confirm/deny that this happens on a working copy?
  4. I have now, and still no dice. 512MB of allocated memory is a ton, but do you think it might need more, I am running all of the HD patches and a ton of hair mods, etc. I'm just so confused because I never needed any of these files before with previous versions, and it has worked fine. I've also check the "whatsnew" category of the SKSE page and on the forum post, the only thing that could have messed with my game is "enabled previously-temporary Papyrus plugin API - it isn't what I wanted it to be, but I don't think I have the time to do it the right way"but I don't think that's the issue. I have seen another forum post about the skse.ini so I will see if that can help me at all.
  5. Update/Bump In addition to the aforementioned attempts to fix I have now Uninstalled/Reinstalled SkyrimUsed LOOT to optimize my load order(why not?)Used the installer version of 1.7.01Run SKSE with no mods activeCome on people, there's got to be an answer... EDIT: I had a thought, do plugins that work with skse need to update when it does? I will check if this is a viable solution later today...
  6. So I've had this problem for a while, but I've mostly been able to avoid it by going back to version 1.6.16 of SKSE. TL;DR: SKSE 1.7.0 and 1.7.01 don't work. Previous version do, but I have to update. I need a fix. Here's my problem: I click the skse_loader.exe, and the command prompt shows up for a second like it's supposed to, goes away, and then right as the black screen of my Skyrim comes up, it crashes. It doesn't even make it to the Bethesda Logo (poor Bethesda). This only happens with SKSE v1.7.01 and 1.7.0, if I launch it with 1.6.16, it works fine. Therefore it cannot be a problem with my load order, so don't worry about it. I'm completely at a loss and I have no idea what else I can do. What I have done: started as AdministratorDeleted SKSE folder in My Games\Skyrim root and startedRestarted the computerRan while Steam is runningRun TESV.exe and then skse_loader.exeRun BOSS checksDeactivated all mods (reactivating ~200 mods is a pain)Validated Skyrim Archive using Steamsacrificed a goatThe one thing that I have found that works for others is deleting theinformation inside the skse.ini file. The problem is that I have no skse.ini file, nor do I know where it should go to create one. If you can help in anyway, or have a suggestion, I will follow it. Thanks so much for your help! ^.^
  7. Fun fact! When a vampire/werewolf, you cannot get the Well Rested perk (which you would normally get after sleeping for ~6+ hours) and this perk lasts all day, so if you do not have the perk active on your character for more then a day (I believe) you will get the sick comments. Fun fact pt.2! I have no idea what to do about Vilkas. If loading up a save doesn't work, I believe there is a command to kill NPC's permanently... but I'm not certain.
  8. I'm obviously not the first person to post here, but if you want my advice, I'd say go for the stuff that you want in your game. Personally, I am more aesthetically driven, so the first mods that I downloaded were ENB, new armour and high resolution patches. Of course when I downloaded these, I had just started playing the game. Like, here's my $25, hit me with the mods! I guess the point I'm trying to make is if you want armour mods, download armour mods, if you want core game play changes, download those. I think that, in my experiences, anything to make your and other models look better in the game is the way to go from the beginning. You know, your Apachii Sky Hair, zzjay's Cazy Hairs, Eyes of Beauty, head meshes, Race Menu, Body mesh/textures, until people look how you want them to, so that you can be happy with that. From there, I always felt the best way to get better mods is just impulse. I'll be scrolling the Nexus, and see the Unlimited Enchantments mod. I think to myself, "Ooh! That sounds cool," open in a new tab, download. The point that I am trying to make is download mods that you think are worth getting. And if you end up not liking the mod, uninstall it. Life is about making mistakes and exposing yourself, so do just that. Hope this helps -Disschorde
