  1. I was one of the people cheering for the Creation Club.

It's garbage. It is poorly thought out, poorly executed, and some assistant producer needs to be slapped. The project had potential, but what has been offered and the pricing are so ridiculous as to be insulting. This is like EA level of crap on your fan base.

    I have disappoint.

  2. I have the Structures tab, but not the Barns and Warehouse categories. Do these automatically appear in the menu with the DLC, or do they have triggers that make them appear?

edit: nvm, I found em. After I uninstalled Contraptions, saved, and reinstalled, all KINDS of stuff appeared.

  3. Again, Bethesda baffles me. I just built the Food Processor, AutoLoom, and Builder. . With the exception of one of them giving me Lunchboxes, they seem pretty useless. Why even bother including them to clutter up the DLC with? I would have been happy if the clothing one gave me things my settlers actually want, such as fatigues, farm clothes, and coveralls. We don't need 8 colors of dresses. And how hard would it have been to include a couple of interesting new clothing items? Or baseballs? Empty bottles?

Yes, I get that the machines that require perks are more useful. I'm just saying these three are clutter.

Did anyone find the Food Processor, AutoLoom, and Builder useful? Am I dense and missed something?

Todd, please stop assigning DLC projects to the interns.

  4. I have 18 settlements and all have adequate defense.

I played for four hours today and have done nothing but respond to settlement attacks. And because I like the NEEDS aspect of survival mode, I have to walk all over the map to respond to attacks. I intended to spend the day confronting the Mechanist, but now I can't do anything but hike and respond to these attacks.

    is it just me?

    Hi Folks,

I have a baffler. About a month ago my F12 screenshot key stopped working.

    I tried the following:

    • Shut off all mods
    • Reinstall game (keeping old data folder)
    • Check that the F12 key is setup in the Steam interface
    • Change the shortcut key to "P"
    • Swap out keyboards

    Nothing has worked. Any ideas?

  6. Title says it all. I would love it if radstorms would reanimate ghouls and other corpses and give them ghoul AI.

I also think that each storm should have a chance to bring with it a pack of ghouls with a chance for a glowing one or two.

If I was a ghoul and was healed by radiation, I'd follow the storm. Wouldn't you?

I think reanimating and possibly spawning new feral ghouls would make radstorms something to truly be concerned about. Right now. they are just decorations.

I also think it would be cool if radstorms had a chance to damage generators and anything that needs electricity. Just a chance. Maybe they should give settlers radiation too and you would have to give them radaway or mutant hound chops. Radstorms could turn your purified water into dirty water, too.

And make regular monsters and animals legendary. Or scale up 2X. So many things that could be done to make em interesting.

  7. I like playing my Bethesda games with many characters. In order to manage the save files, I remove them from the save folder and then put them back in when I want to play that character. This was always fine with other Beth games.

FO4 keeps "helping" by putting them back, probably from Steam.

Other than disconnecting myself from the internet or logging out of Steam, has anyone found a way to make it stop?

    Thank you.

  8. Or the whole U.S.S. Constitution crew. Speaking of super-pep made me think of the bosun. Hell, the whole quest is one step beyond crazy.

Or the kid in a fridge.

    Or Curie.

Or the Covenant and their S.A.F.E. test for detecting synths

Or the... unique personalities on the supervisors at Graygarden, especially supervisor Greene. Do mention he sounds like a game show host for a giggle. Or just listen to his conversations with White.

Or, yeah, the whole Silver Shroud quest arc, and especially the delightfully fanboy Kent. He's adorable.

Or, speaking of Moira, check out Tinker Tom. Now that's a guy that can out-crazy Moira and then some.

    Etc.

There's PLENTY of quirkiness. In fact, I'd say a lot more than in FO3. I mean, FO3 did shove Moira in your face right at the start, whereas in FO4 you start with a bunch of depressing idiots, which admittedly doesn't help with the initial impression. But afterwards, FO3 had very little of that crazy stuff any more, whereas FO4 then starts having it all over the place.

Reading your post, it's clear to me how much of the game I haven't seen. I spend most of my time playing house in the settlements. I'll withhold judgement until I see more. I enjoyed the Constitution crew. Just what I like in a Fallout game.

  9.

Don't worry... I'm sure monkey's with typewriters are herding voice actors as we speak for Fallout 4: "Interesting NPCs." That having been said... I miss Dukov.

Yeah, it's sometimes fun to have npcs that need killing over and over again. Dukov was one of them and that sleazebag with the heart-shaped bed in Paradise Falls, can't remember his name. Forget Skyrim's Nazeem, who I've only ever found mildly irritating. FO3 had the biggest collection of hateworthy npcs I've ever encountered.

I'm convinced that Dukov is based on Vlatko Andonov. I met Vlatko in the Bethsoft offices many years ago and that's totally him. Vlatko is President of Bethesda now.

  10. For me, this is the thing that is really missing. Whether it was Moira's ridiculous perkiness, Bryan Wilks talking about F**king ants, or Mechanist and Antagonizer fighting in the streets, Fallout 3 was funny with it's own particular flavor of understated zany humor.

F4 has none of that. It's just not entertaining that way. And I think that is why this fanboy hates to do it, but I have to call it... flat. It's like a Nukacola that got left out overnight. It's got no fizz.

  11. I've enjoyed using this mod that makes settlers mortal. - http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/3483/?

I have not actually lost a settler to it yet, but I also haven't been attacked by a suicider lately. The mod does make attacks scarier so that adds thrill. The modder was smart enough to keep provisioners mortal.

No fast travel unless to respond to a Settlement attack.

My only other rule is that Dogmeat cannot carry things.

Waiting for mods that add weight to caps and ammo.
