Moments you wished you had caught on film
Teamkillerz replied to Alehazar's topic in Fallout 3's Spoilers
When I was running towards the Republic of Dave(no fast travel) and I come across some raiders. They don't detect me at all(100 sneak) and I come up to one of them, stand up, VATS with my tire iron. And I target him, and my tire iron swings upwards towards his head and I hear a soft crack and then his head explodes. He then fell to his knees, and then onto the ground. Best Melee kill ever. -
Rebuilding the world after Fallout 3
Teamkillerz replied to JackTrenton's topic in Fallout 3's Spoilers
I'm going to love New Vegas because it will tell a different story from the other Fallouts. The other games portrayed the settlements as in peril, and having major problems, barely getting by. New Vegas will tell a story about an area in the Wasteland that is absolutely prospering, and probably closest to actual civilization in the Wasteland. -
I just came up with a hat idea that is lore friendly. My idea is a Baker Boy Cap, which is also commonly called a Newsie's cap. It was a popular piece of headwear in cities during the 30s-40s, and the name nick name "Newsie's Cap" was coined because many Newsies, or paper boys that sold newspapers on street corners, wore them. It would be more of an aesthetics thing, if any bonuses at all, maybe give it +1 PER or CHA. *MINOR SPOILERS OF A NOTE EASILY MISSED QUEST* Ok, I need help getting rolling on this quest, and, after I pick up the note, I can not seem to find that box for Aunt May in the Super Duper Market. I have already searched thoroughly, and there is no sign of it on any of the shelves, in the front or back of the store. Link to quest: http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4730

Creepiest thing that happened to you?
Teamkillerz replied to IndorilTheGreat's topic in Fallout 3's Spoilers
One of my scariest was when I was in Minefield for the first time. I was listening to Existence radio, with all that creepy music, and then, as I was taking up mines, Arkansas makes my head explode all over the pavement, in a bloody mist and splat, with a silent boom. Let's just say I need to change some clothing afterwards. -
Your thinking about RTS - Real Time Settler mod. Really, really fun. Also, if your bored, just download quest mods.
-
Here's a suggestion for a gun model, just retexture the 10mm pistol and give it a yellow and black color scheme.
-
Very very nice! Kudos given, and downloaded.

I don't mind the amount of time it's taking, take as much as you like.

I like the idea. Just imagine. You sneak past raiders in the Springvale School and hide in one of the rooms. You rig a fatman to a tripwire at the entrance. Then, you just take out any gun and start firing rounds and stand back. You hear the stomping of raiders moving to your position and one of them trips the wire.....blood, guts, and limbs fly all over the room, splattering the chalkboard and no one is left alive.

Wow! That is an amazing looking hat! I like the look of it. Hopefully you can fix that problem.
-
Very great, thanks!

Are there any possible fixes? Also, can you see if you can get a picture?

So, the Enclave's fate in the Fallout series?
Teamkillerz replied to Alixen's topic in Fallout 3's Spoilers
I just came up with an idea that I got from my time in KotOR, on Manaan, the local ocean planet, was totally neutral in the battles between Sith and Republic. Maybe, the Commonwealth could be a place similar, where the Enclave and BoS are set up in with outposts in the same city, and have to keep their hostilities outside it. It could be interesting for a divided quest line where you could try and sabotage the other or use your speech skills to convince the leaders of the city to expell the other faction. -
The hat itself in-game probably doesn't need to look fuzzy, here's a flatter and less fuzzy picture: http://pythonline.com/sites/pythonline.com/files/images/Coonskin%20Cap.png

I set my self up by the Radio tower that broadcasts Oscar Zulu.

I'm requesting a simple coon hat, since I play a character that spends his time exploring the unknown and trying to see what's over the next ridge or hill, like Davy Crockett, the man who popularized the coon hat. Reference Picture: http://www.arrowgiftshop.com/media/4edb6490.jpg Thanks in advance

I play a character who scavenges and hunts for food and only goes into town for things like supplies. My main weapons are very stealth oriented. 1. Inflitrator(or Preflibulator, whichever one is the unique version) 2. Paulson's Revolver 3. Trench Knife Also, I use the Medic Power Armor.

Fallout3 Shortcomings & your ideas
Teamkillerz replied to ancalimonungol's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
Ummm. I agree with that. Although back in the day Fallout2's fight system was the best we had. Today Fallout3's is not really good when compared with other similar games. That cruel roll of dice is still present I think. Otherwise what good are the stats? Apparently they are not used much (or at all) for role playing aspects. Fallout 2 = Best fight system? Come on, it was medicore. Also, previous fallouts had their share of useless stats never used in roleplay. Here's a run-down grading them based on usage and usefulness Doctor: Rare, Useful First Aid: Rare, Useless Outdoorsman: Never, Useless Small Guns: Rare, Very useful Big guns: Never, Useless Energy Weapons: Never, useless Throwing: Never, Useless Unarmed: Never, Useless Melee: Never, Useless Repair: Sometimes, Useful Science: Sometimes, Useful Sneak: Never, Useless Steal: Never, Useless Traps: Never, Somewhat useful Lockpick: A lot, Useful Barter: Never, Useless Gambling: Never, Useless Speech: Almost always, VERY VERY USEFUL -
Fallout3 Shortcomings & your ideas
Teamkillerz replied to ancalimonungol's topic in Fallout 3's Discussion
You know, the problem is, people are expecting too much from Bethesda. They wrote dialogue that is used by the hundreds of characters in Fallout, dozens having totally unique dialogue. Now, when you say that the NPC's should react to mass murders when your are talking to them, that's asking to much. You're essentially asking Bethesda to record and write hundreds of new dialogue for the certain quests, all of the NPC's, a fool's errand I should say. And, when you say Fo3 did not live up to the Fo1 and Fo2 name, I think it surpassed them. Albeit the game is in third person, which deviates from the isometric view and hexagon movement of the first two, it' still more flexible than they are. Also, Fo3 is much more concentrated and has much more content than the other games. Fallout 2 may cover Colorado, Nevada, Cali., Washington, Oregon, and several other states, it's very dispersed and there are only about a dozen points of interest and you have random encounters between travel, which unless you have a high outdoorsman skill and some perks, that you can't avoid. Plus the battle is much more streamlined than the other games where you could be standing one hex away from the enemy with a pistol, and only have a 30% chance of hitting them. Another thing that Fo3 has is a much more explorer like aspect to it, and more lore to be learned through exploring than just talking to NPC's. -
Ok, ever since I got Fallout, I've had problems with custom textures. For some reason, whenever I see an item using custom textures, they rapidly fluctuate between other ones and it just looks like a general mess. Is there anyway I can fix this?
