Mojave Restoration Project
DOOMdestroyer360 replied to DOOMdestroyer360's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I don't think that can be done, at least not for the meshes. Because Fallout 4 meshes have materials and other things attached to them that need to be added, they'd have to be modified in order to work in the game. If I could directly port buildings, flora, and other misc. meshes over without dealing with that I would have already done it, but I've had some difficulties with it and due to the taboo nature of porting assets, it's also difficult to find specific help with it on here. -
This will be the main thread for my Mojave Wasteland recreation, I'll periodically post images as well as answer any questions about the project as it progresses. As of right now the map spans from the Mojave Outpost to North Vegas Here is a link to my video demo previously posted on the imageshare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwwOmFDq32M Demo Video 1 https://youtu.be/u-ATd6qOQjM Demo Video 2 https://youtu.be/M1mvsYubwTQ Demo Video 3 First of all, I just want to make it clear that this isn't a quest mod and was never planned to be such. I may add some unmarked quests down the line, but mostly this will be used as a (literal) sandbox for roleplaying and settlement building. For my own personal version I intend to port assets from NV, but for now I am recreating the meshes based on what's already available in Fallout 4. Eventually I intend to recreate the Divide from Lonesome Road and properly connect it to the rest of the Mojave, but that's way later on. Currently I'm still building this myself, but if you happen to be interested in contributing somehow, shoot me a PM and we can discuss it further. All rebuilt locations so far: Goodsprings, Goodsprings Source, Jean Sky Diving, Primm (WIP), Nevada Highway Patrol Station, *Lone Wolf Radio, Mojave Outpost, Ivanpah Race Track, Nipton, *Ringo's Sacked Caravan, Sloan, Quarry Junction (WIP), Junction 15 Railway Station, Fiend Territory (WIP), Camp McCarran (WIP), Bonnie Springs, Vault 19, *NCR Sharecropper Farms, *Gun Runners, Crimson Caravan, Freeside East Gate, Freeside North Gate, North Vegas Square *Locations marked with an asterisk have been renamed and re-purposed to fit the new changes to those areas, but are still recorded here by their original names for convenience. Disclaimer: If you're coming to this thread to fanboy over Obsidian and sh*t on Bethesda, you're in the wrong thread. There's only one bad Fallout game and that's BoS.

He is able to make his own booze like Cass does though. Frankly, I'm more interested in the adventures I'm going to have playing as Molestia with Penstreak as my companion. C:< "Hey Penstreak, you know what would be hot, if you like, got in the way of my gunfire when I'm shooting up Westside while I'm high on PCP."

Yeah, man, they hate ponies because ponies like their bacon to be cut in strips. Anyhow, yeah Biggs' eyes are red because he is Applejack's hated redneck cousin who is stoned or drunk pretty much all the time, and if he stopped, he would die pretty quickly from the severe withdrawals.

Fortunately, I DO have the time to burn making daily progress reports, but unless you guys want to hear about technical stuff and more ideas that may or may not make it into the final product there's not much that can be said. Thanks to Kuro, we seem to be getting back on track and story development is going quite well at the moment. I'll try to post more here and keep this thread active, but there's not too much that can be revealed right now without spoilers being an issue.

This creature is something I came up with a while back, its concept name is Gräuel. It is unconfirmed whether or not the Gräuel will make an appearance in the mod, so this is just concept work I did pretty quick. Here is a short bio on the Gräuel. Species: Gräuel Classification: Failed Experiment The Gräuel are a race of hybrid abominations created by those responsible for the pony race. They are extremely hostile and have been known to devour the flesh of humans and ponies alike. Gräuel are the result of pony mutations that didn't quite pan out all the way, they can be created when humans are exposed to the variant of the FEV virus the ponies were spawned from, or just simply ponies that were unlucky enough to both carry the recessive gene for the mutation. Gräuel often resemble other ponies due to having changeling DNA, but carry none of the traits of these ponies. The Gräuel cannot be reasoned with, and are extremely savage in combat. Most humans and ponies choose to believe the Gräuel are merely a myth, but in the most irradiated parts of the wasteland, tribes of these horrid creatures can be found. On many older Gräuel, a large scar can be seen going down their head. This is indication that these monstrosities were given lobotomies in an attempt to harness their brute force and combat prowess for use as super soldiers. These older Gräuel were injected with high doses of Psycho, Buffout, Med X, and various other chems and as a result, are extremely powerful in battle. Some, however, are spawned nearly brain dead and have been used by NCR and Legion forces as laborers due to their immense strength. Ponies who have seen the Gräuel consider them to be manifestations of pure evil, and many of them refer to these creatures as demons.

THeres still a beta version out there that was given to our official beta tester, perhaps we can salvage that work and just build off of that. The mod may not be as big at the moment, but something could be done.

I don't know. When I read his post on the race thread, I died a little inside, now I'm absolutely drowning myself in a few choice liquids. Right now I feel pretty useless. Sorry about your computer, Kuro, I really am.

She's jealous because Twilight's Mauser has the right texture on it and her riot shotgun doesn't. :P
-
I can't say I'd vote Biggs as best pony, that's like voting a cross between Larry the Cable Guy and Lindsay Lohan as best human.

We're getting there, good buddy. Can't wait to see how the Cutie Mark Crusaders turn out.

That wasn't really a negative comment, I more or less said it because that problem plagues a lot of armors in my game. :s

Exciting news, everyone. Pegasoft Industries (that's us) are holding our first (and probably last) competition! All you have to do to enter for a chance to win your OC's name and photo (if provided) a spot in Nightmare Moon's quest to be referenced in notes left by her prisoners is PM me your OC's name and photo. Me, DeathclawAlpha, and Kuroitsune will take up to 20 entries and select our top 10 favorites to be referenced in the mod. The contest will last for one week and we will announce the winners here. If for whatever reason there are not enough entries, the contest will go on for another week. Here are the conditions. 1) Up to two OCs per person (only one of which will be picked) 2) No shipping with characters that are in the mod ( "My OC is Rarity's husband. lololol" ) 3) Nothing inappropriate 4) A short backstory would be appreciated, but is not required 5) I like alicorns as much as the next guy, but they have to be done right, so nothing overpowered (note: this does not mean alicorns are barred from this contest, it just means your OC isn't allowed to be a Super Saiyan 4 capable of destroying the world when he/she farts.) 6) Doesn't matter what race your OC is as long as it is a pony or close enough (no gryphons, dragons, diamond dogs, etc but zebras and changelings are allowed)

All I can say here is PM me about it. ;) As for the sig, that can be found here: http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/145/8/f/8fe865a8a14978e7181ebad444249799-d3h554e.gif

Doom, What is your guy wearing in this picture? That is the Berserker armor from Killing Floor's Steampunk DLC Pack.

Party at Applejack's house! (deviating from serious topics ftw) All joking aside, I have finally gotten some free time to do some more work on the mod, so expect some progress reports from me soon. This incident was a setback, but I don't think my OCD would forgive me if this mod died.

Derpy's technically a background pony, and with the rarity scale logic I made, would not be rare. Then again.... it IS Derpy afterall..

When playing the updated My Little Pony mod when it comes out, be sure to keep your eye out for these colorful scraps of paper with zero resale value. They contain backstory for their corresponding characters, and I thought the pony profiles should be available for players to read once the mod is complete. Harder to find ones will come with exclusive designs for their specific character.

Just going to do a quick update with a few little details on this "hidden quest" I've mentioned. Without spoiling how to start this quest and what the exact relevance of it is, I will say that it is going to add some things to the game that invoke a fair amount of satire and goofiness. Mind you, this is just an easter egg quest, therefore it is not part of the actual storyline to the mod and can be avoided entirely if that's not your thing or just having a pony campaign in your game is all the craziness you can handle, but if you want to know what to expect here, think Fallout 1 and 2 type encounters but a bit more silly.

Just as an FYI, Alpha, my OC's full name is actually Biggs Bushel. Don't remember if I said that or not, but since it's for documentation purposes I figured I should. I'm impressed you managed to find good VA's or any VA's for that matter, can't say I was actually expecting this mod to end up having voice acting and everything when we all first got involved with this project.

For those of you who are familiar with Two Best Friends Play, this is an axe parodying the TBFP playthrough of Silent Hill: Downpour in which Matt threw an axe into a chasm on accident. It will be in the mod as a hidden easter egg which you can only find if you complete the "hidden" quest. Gonna leave it at that because trust us, it's a doozy! (It is cartoony on purpose because the image of the SH:Downpour protagonist seen on the axe is from this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxcTeyA4Rcc )

Now that I've just about gotten the Junkyard done (will require a bit more polish later), here's a look at the first part of the last stage of Nightmare Moon's quest, R.E.M., which will be mostly platforming. It will get progressively more and more challenging as you navigate the level and the scenery will change from being just odd too being completely insane, more to come later.
