Cigarette's kind of sexy. SFW, don't worry. Now compare that to vaping. Still SFW. Sorry to let you down. Ehm. Ok. On topic. One of the most highlighted chemical is diacetyl. Will give "popcorn lungs" if inhaled, while on the other hand quite fine if ingested as you've done so when you eat buttered popcorn. I found this in academic database ages ago (You're unlikely to have access to and mine's cut off anyway) complete with references, but I'm sure you can Google it up. And maybe Google more of the things you don't know if you're interested. But be wary of random webs saying less of *Inserts a random substance in the ingredients list without scientific evidence nor independent review* in vaping compared to ciggy is ultimately better. Ah yes, I've heard this argument in person before.. But just because your dealer says meth is less powerful than crystal meth, doesn't automatically make it safe to take meth. Tip: Always test for purity every street drugs you buy. Long term effects? There's simply no sample to conclude that. Can be speculated, but no actual sample of say, a group of 10 years active and continuous vapers. Worry not though, ladies and gents. Teens (Aged 16-24) are picking up vaping habit quite rapidly. Thank marketing and lack of regulation. We have fresh samples of lungs. All these clean and juicy lungs are what's needed. Just wait for scientific advancement to take place. It seems like a huge improvement, right? For reasons said above this post. I personally reserve my judgement, but I'd recommend staying away from vaping. If you do decide to vape however, take insurance and avoid cheap imitations. Because... yeah they really can explode. Whether or not the explosion is bigger than that of Samsung Galaxy S7 is still unknown and I won't bother finding out.

I doubt screening is any effective. I believe the biggest problem is how uneducated the masses are. By mental illness, I assume you are speaking of broadly ADHD, depression, anxiety, and OCD etc. Some issues can be screened, like ADHD (Attention Deficit - Hyperactivity Disorder). Some others are a lot harder to detect as they develop over time, like depression and anxiety in adolescence. A lot of schools don't screen for issues, so even things like ADHD can go untreated. And then comes the treatment. I'm gonna use ADHD as an example. The first line of treatment is therapy like cognitive behavioural therapy. And then comes Adderall. The other option is to adjust the learning environment which is costly and may require extra training on the teachers' end. Note that there may be special schools for students with ADHD. To go with the first option, therapy, requires cooperation between the school and the parents involved. This isn't preferred due to budget, time, and effort restrictions. Second option, drug, isn't that good either. Adderall is an amphetamine that increases dopamine level. But wait! Dopamine affects different regions of the brain. There aren't a lot of studies done on the full side effects. So drugs may actually do more harm in the long term. And don't get me started on mixing medications. Yet if goes untreated these students can become more isolated, prone to bullying, and may also develop further mental health issues. I hope I wasn't too far off topic. So now back to the question. I'm assuming that by screening you mean; evaluating student academic and health records at one point of time as well as giving some "survey". That's not enough (Or even effective) to detect much or some of the issues, which I already mentioned can be developing over time. Educating teachers and parents and encouraging them to cooperate, I believe is the key - as opposed to merely screening for issues. The responsibility doesn't fall on parents or teachers alone, as I hope I have highlighted clearly in the above example. I can go on and on about the stigma mental issues have, how different issues require different treatments (Genetic hereditary vs mainly environmental), but the first step to solving these is the same: education. Why? Because mental health is just as important as physical health. But hardly anyone knows the first-aid of mental health. And no, the first-aid should not be drugs, with the exception of extreme circumstances. PS: There may also be the need to train doctors not to prescribe drugs like Adderall and Paroxetine (Antidepressant SSRI) as first-line treatment. Overall, a very complex problem to solve.

http://s3.amazonaws.com/theoatmeal-img/comics/america/amendments.png Now that I have your attention: This world is becoming more complex. Thus everything must evolve, so must constitutions/laws (Inevitably). Let's take an example. Back when the UN made the refugee convention in 1951, they did not suspect that smuggling people would grow into a multinational business. Over sixty years later, evidences have emerged that the kindness and generosity of the signees are being exploited. This puts the real refugees at imminent risk and severe disadvantages. Google at your own leisure. Point is, everything must change and be renewed be it small or big changes. If you build a house, you will eventually have to renovate it, right?

Yes. They have not invaded enough countries to keep up with the West and more importantly the G8. I'm sure you know my opinion on this.

Where Do You fall under the new political spectrum?
dudutz18 replied to colourwheel's topic in Debates
I've volunteered at many different forums. Starting from guild forums, gaming, more, university run forums (for career and stuffs), and an official forums run by a huge hardware store. I always stayed for long at each. The siggy is for fun only and I know how hard moderating can be, especially in a multi language forums and/or a professional community. It's not meant to offend anyone, if that's why you're quoting me. Now I'm not really sure on what we're actually debating in this thread. But I think I'm seeing an infraction coming for this unrelated post of mine :/ -

I'm Aussie but let's try this anyway Aaaand, http://www.snakbloxapps.com/SnakBloxApp-Esquire/img/summary_mba.jpg -
The folks that want the war are the politicians. Like Herbert Hoover said, “Older men declare war. But it is youth [and the poor] that must fight and die.” We should send the politicians to their own war instead of everyone else. Meanwhile in downunder Australia. Our PM is not only exaggerating our role but also advocating intervention but not yet defined what sort. Probably some drone attacks.. A media also mentioned in a press that "No Aussie will be sent to Syria." I watched the video (Now expired) like 4 times and I didn't even hear the PM saying that directly or indirectly. If I remember correctly this is the exact repeat of Aussies' intervention in Iraq/Afghanistan. Our PM's telling us it's the Syrian regime that used the chemical weapon. Evidence? Too secret brah! Just follow the way of the oils and strategic annexation security councils. We got a coming election (You may think we have a 'king of the hill - free for all pvp' style of politics but no) though and that has pretty much distracted us from this matter which has been brought to discussion but not sustained. I'm personally against military intervention in Syria, same reasons as youse. Maybe those politicians want to learn geography and economics but this isn't how - stolen from Mark Twain's. Money could be better spent combating the already high-and-rising domestic poverty in youths, mental health care, and REAL education.

First, don't stone me if this' been said. Judging based on trailers, - I think - ESO will get swallowed by many upcoming korean MMOs like "Boobs & Soul," Arche Age, Black Desert, Black Sheep, Black Gold, and I don't even know why they are so obsessed with the word Black. ESO player base may be a huge problem once they are released in NA/EU approx by mid 2014. There's still likelihood they will maintain subscription fee though much is to be expected from this (Active GMs in-game, excels in support, bug fixes, list goes on). From financial prespective, Zenimax is a private company so they probably haven't raised too much money from the public thus reducing the need to pay them back in a steady basis. Still, I don't know how they plan to make return from this but they need to do better to appeal to more audiences. Eg. Square Enix can maintain subscription fee based Final Fantasy because they don't have too many servers and they have mainstream income despite them being a public company. I think the fee isn't a problem especially to people with a job, but the opportunity cost is. One can buy a more appealing game instead right? I personally loved the idea of ESO but the trailer... the combat looked just as robotic as tes:oblivion.. I was expecting it to have some gigantic monster pve kind of style and a well animated FPS combat with a lot of moves to choose from but I guess I was expecting too much lol. I'll be trying out some of those korean MMOs and for sure, Tom Clancy's Division!

China has been backing NK (North Korea) for one sole reason, so the "Western Devils" don't gain foothold in Asia. That being said, NK might not go to war without China's consent. There's also been talks from some NK defectors claiming such behaviour is only meant for their people to respect and be loyal to the new leader. It's a shotgunfest in Defiance. The worst thing that happened recently was the major bug where a smeagol can steal your weapon. Ingame, chars will appear wielding the weapons, but one can't swap the weapon and it's gone from the list. It was affecting a lot of players and I've lost an SMG and a rifle.. not sure if it's fixed yet Other than that bug, gameplay was awesome. A fraps explains more, just youtube the gameplay

All the things make sense Schools should focus in individual needs I agree But wouldnt that be costly? Teachers who can focus in individual needs are paid real high and who pays them, parents of course. I personally think this is the best solution .. only a few schools pay attention to individual needs and they cost around 20k bucks a year in average. As the result, those few schools are among on top of the state, wow. It's very costly but parents get what they paid for I now agree laptops can be used for advance learning at school, but not for children bcs: In some cases, parents get real mad at the smartboard and laptop learning method. Why? Parents are already complaining about the expensive laptops (most schools that use this learning method usually recommend laptop that costs around 700bucks) schools recommend for their kids (<15yr old). They bought their kids that expensive laptops to use at school still. Then, a year later, it turned out the kids cant take care of their own laptop. It went down, virus and crashes etc. At the end parents got to buy them a new one .. Even worse, laptops are being misused by many kids. They use their laptops to play games and watch xxx etc instead of studying. There's a software to monitor this kind of stuffs but again its not cheap . . . What im trying to say is: I personally think primary school students should be taught with the paper method and start trying a new method (like laptop) when they are old enough (probably when they enter year7) to take care of themselves and their property

Technology has been growing rapidly and the changes are inevitable even to students and teachers. The point of this thread is to see everyone's pov. Oh, i hate introduction! I will group this into 3 parts where you can just tell which part you prefer and WHY (I'd like to hear), if possible, tell which of these learning environment you had when you were at school 1. Schools that replaced whiteboard with monitor and books are replaced with laptops Schools that are quite expensive are having these changes. THe teacher can write on his/her laptop or directly onto the monitor and speak, or let the computer does the SPEAKING. This may sound weird but this kind of stuff does exist . . . Then, the students can download whatever is displayed into their laptops within just a single click. Click peep peep, press OK to continue. 2. Schools that keep the old method alive Basically, the teacher will have to get a marker and write all his/her notes on the board. In some cases chalk, but thats not my point. The students will have to write down what the teacher had written on the board, with pen and on paper. 3. Schools that combine both methods (I made this one myself, I dont think this one exists) Teachers can type on his/her laptop and the monitor will display the note. However, students still have to write down the notes, with pen and on paper =D My choice I prefer the 3rd one. No, not because I'm the one who made it up! It's coz students get to memorise whatever they write easily. Result shows that school with learning environment #1 have a lower average of admission rank (it's a ranking across all schools in the state). Why not #2? Because #2 wont allow teacher to put pictures easily, while the env #3 will. This provides a strong foundation for visual learners. Plus, not all teachers have good handwriting (no offense intended on this one xD). I often find it confusing figuring out what the 'broken' letter is. However, it is still costly . . . One monitor like that can cost around 8k bucks and students might start thinking of something unfair is going on: How come the teacher's allowed to type while we have to write? I'm not so good at english I hope you see my point tho

Havent read the entire thread but here's my theory US started a lot of mess with some religious cults (im not sure if cult is a right wording) so its possible ww3 will start with some religious reason. Could be between US (Could also be with some european countries) vs Muslims across many continents. My version of WW3: Western nations are attempting to eliminate muslim extremist such as the talibans. Talibans are muslim. Sooner or later their muslim brothers will take action and eventually reinforce them. Muslim is one of the fastest growing religion in some of the western nations themself. On the part of this planet, muslim extremists are expanding their influence. I guess you know where, Indonesia, Malaysia and Phillipine (could be many more). Why? Because countries like these dont educate enough of their own people* which makes foreign threads spread faster. Theyre also some sort of picky, they often pick young men because they dont have 'identity' (this makes them vulnerable to some brainwash, zap!). Sooner or later they will have numbers and be able to launch a full scale assault. What would the western countries do? They would probably drag young men to the battlefield and try to obliterate them. It's an all-out war, with bombs and screams. It started from Suni Hazara and Pashtuns problem, then came to Afghanistan vs the Western, and finally Muslim vs Western At the end we will live in a Vault and live life as in Fallout3 =D * - might not be the cause but for sure, it's growing in many asian countries It's my version and I'm not good at making hypothesis, so i can only hope you get my point. no offense intended

Thx for the replies once again really opened my eyes I have decided and there goes my decision: I bought both of them, but XBOX360Live is for me and the PS3 is for my brother With a special agreement: We can swap anytime we like One thing I like from XBOX: Good community worthwhile spending about 8bux/month One thing I like from PS3: High-rating games are mostly available on PS3 One thing I don't like from XBOX: MicroLag may occur during gameplay One thing I don't like from PS3: The games are incredibly expensive since most of its games are generally brand new. FF13 costs 140bux There are more to write, but I did write only one thing from each aspect to make it more contrast and please note those were opinions. And I'm pretty sure those things above were mentioned in previous posts. This doesn't mean this topic is finished, please keep debating while it is free still Please note my English is not good so there might be a part that is a bit confusing xD If so, well bad luck!
