  1. Thanks for the reply! Very interesting about immersive armors. That would be a damn shame as I like a lot of them. Never even occurred to me. Perhaps I will try without that and just download a couple of the armors I like separately. I have subsequently had some problems -- I've really gotten down into the weeds. First of all, I made sure all my old mods got updated. Then I did a clean reinstall of Skyrim (the "nuke from orbit") and tried to reinstall mods in an intelligent manner. I also trimmed my mod list down a lot. There's definitely quite a few on the post above that do overlapping things, so I got rid of a lot of the redundancies. I'm down to 217 mods, which is at least approaching reasonable, 184 active plugins. So it's a little frustrating, because at this point I feel pretty good about my mod list and most of the mods are ones I've used before without issue. For laughs I'll post my current mod list in case anyone else wants to take a look. I unchecked my skeleton XPMSE and that seemed to make my game a little more stable. The crash behavior, despite paring down my mods and all that has remained pretty similar; no specific location, indoor, outdoor, etc. I trimmed enough crap off that it lasts a little longer now but we are talking a CTD after about 1-3 minutes of gameplay. Here's the current mod list: (And yes, since I decided to get all hardcore with my animation and skeleton stuff, I'm trying to do it right, and I've been running the FNIS.exe file all the time. That also reports no errors or warnings.)
  2. Greetings Gentles, Looking for any comments or words of wisdom. I'm working off of a relatively old skyrim install so I'm afraid I may need to nuke from orbit and restore vanilla skyrim and kind of start over with installing mods but before I do that I want to see if anyone sees any obvious red flags in my mod list/papyrus log. Papyrus That's the end piece where the game actually crashes. This firewood thing is new but I whenever I was crashing before I was geting the bloodFX message. Load order is attached but also: LOOT gives me 0 errors, 0 warnings, and shows 0 dirty plugins. Any thoughts?
  3. Welp! Nevermind. Interesting development. It seems opening the steam launcher can have some effects on your mods. It turned on a mod that was dependent on something else turned off. I corrected that in NMM and now I am good. So, word to the wise for those with a similar issue! If you run the steam skyrim launcher, you may need to check your mods carefully after.
  4. Alright folks, wondering if anyone has any insight into an issue I am experiencing. I had a completely stable game. Everything was peachy keen. Decided to delete a few saved games. I ran the Skyrim launcher in steam (JUST the launcher) so that my save game deletions would stick. I exited the steam launcher, and started my game up through SKSE via NMM like normal. Gets past the splash screen and blammo, CTD before the menu loads. Anyone have anything like this happen before?
  5. Good news everyone! /farnsworth I ran the save game cleaner tool by Hadoram for totally unrelated reasons, and that magically fixed my map camera issues. All hail Hadoram! Super stoked. Issue: RESOLVED
  6. Well, to follow up with anyone who has been viewing this thread, I have poked and prodded everything I can find map related. I've screwed with my skyrim ini file, uninstalled/reinstalled A Quality Map, attempted to just undo everything and go back to the vanilla map, and I have gotten nowhere. Whenever I open the world map, the camera pans up quickly and I see nothing but a cluster of icons on the top left corner of the screen. http://i60.tinypic.com/23r1qtj.jpg That is actually a screenshot of my world map. Hard to tell by looking at it but you can kind of see the piled icons. The one on the top of the heap is Dawnguard, and I can successfully click on it and fast travel. It hasn't always been Dawnguard; for a while it was Solitude. Let me cast a wider net: what things affect or can potentially affect the map camera in Skyrim beyond [MapMenu] settings in the Skyrim.ini folder, or added textures like A Quality Map's?
  7. Thanks Huntress! I'm using two, but they don't have any .esp files associated, they just overwrite some textures. A Quality Map and then some similar mod that shows Hold borders. But even if I uninstall both, what should now be the vanilla map doesn't work either. So I managed to screw something up somewhere. I appreciate your comments though! Thanks for the reply. The game is otherwise running pretty stably, so I am just making due without the map. Kind of interesting working that way, actually.
  8. Any ideas, oh learnéd in the ways of modding?
  9. Greetings and salutations: I'm wondering if I can tap into some Skyrim vet's wisdom here. I recently decided I was in a Skyrim-y mood and went through the usual DL of mods, installing them, CTDs, fixing CTDs, etc., etc., that whole joyful phase we are all familiar with. I wound up with a Skyrim that runs great, something BOSS is completely happy with, no dirty edits hanging out in certain mods, again, totally smooth and peachy keen. Then I open my map. The camera kind of tilts upwards as I open it and I get basically gibberish on the world map view (local map view works fine). Just looks like a blank blue screen, only I can see the icon for Solitude way in the NW corner, but that's about it. Can't seem to navigate around in it or do anything useful. Running A Quality Map, tried uninstalling/reinstalling, tried installing another map mod (World map hold borders) in the hopes that would fix what the issue was, no dice. My skyrim ini looks clean to me, map wise. So. Here I am. Anyone have any suggestions? Ini contents: And my load order:
  10. This is really great. Thanks for putting this article together. Kudos and mucho karma to you, Dovahkiin!
  11. Greetings Folks, So I'm encountering an issue I hope someone from the community might be able to shed some light on. Please and thank you, in advance! I'm not posting in the mod troubleshooting section, because I don't know that it is a mod causing the issue, though it probably is. Sorry if that's incorrect. Here's what's happening: I'm getting substantial freezes (5-10 seconds) on occasion if I quicksave, whether indoors or out. Loads, whether a save game load or an area load seem to be taking increasingly long amounts of time. Sometimes I get slight delays if I equip an item or weapon, or if I draw a weapon. I also encounter "sound delays", meaning, for example, I'll draw my weapon with no delay in the animation, but the sound won't show up until a few seconds later. In more extreme cases, several sounds will "stack" and play all at once a few seconds down the road. Additional context -- ever since I got a stable mod load and started my most recent playthrough, I've had occasional sound delay. The severe delays on saves and the more frequent delays to equip an item are new, however. The sound delays are more frequent. The first two issues may be entirely unrelated to the third; I don't know. Also, I've historically run everything with out any significant framerate drops or lag of any sort -- I tried to choose mods that would not overtax my hardware and do not believe this is a hardware issue, as it is a new issue. (Well, at least the first two things: the long loads and the save/equip delays.) My initial guess was save game bloat, plain and simple. However, even on the main menu now I get sound delays and even freezing when I click on buttons like Load or Options or what have you. So, any ideas, folks? In case you feel like taking a look, my mod list and load order is below: Finally, I sort load order using BOSS, I've cleaned edits where appropriate, and my Papyrus scrips are showing some random bloat and b.s., but nothing that seems to be greater than ambient.
  12. Alright, I will give that a whirl. Thanks very much for the help, I appreciate it.
