It's likely a hard thing to add, but many would love this.

hud.xml contains parameters like: <param name="Distance" desc="Distance to player in meters" type="float"/> <param name="NearThreshold" desc="Distance of maximum alpha" type="float"/> <param name="FarThreshold" desc="Distance of minimum alpha" type="float"/> These look promising, but I see no value I can edit so I must be misunderstanding what they do.

Are there any animations for drawing a dagger form the boot? Skyrim LE or SE is fine. I can convert them, though SE preferred. I coudln't find anything on the nexus.

In response to post #57598231. Did you even read the entire post before hunting for a download link? They warned it was still a buggy alpha release and advised people like you to NOT download it.

CTDs on new game after playing fine for 30+ hours
DrxVL replied to DrxVL's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
This is the kind of topic I suspect won't get many replies because there are probably millions of them, but I've disabled nearly half my load order trying to figure it out. I would really appreciate some help figuring it out. -
I decided to start over so I could use TPOS in my game, but now whether I use it or not I get CTDs frequently. I've had a very stable experience up until now so I'm really confused. I've worked on this on my own for days and can't figure it out. Any help is greatly appreciated. Edit: It occurs most frequently when I save FWIW. plugins.txt:

https://imgur.com/a/MaHX9 Please help. Bethesda's launcher is garbage. Is there a place I can download the SE creation kit without this? It won't even let me change the installation directory. The option is disabled as if the launcher knows better where I should install things. >_< It's worth mentioning that the drive it's TRYING to install to just a folder on my local machine mapped as a network drive. It should work, but the launcher is from Bugthesda. If I could just change the location I could tell it the proper path to install to. I even tried installing the launcher using the network path it seems intent on using, but it won't let me do that either. Even though every other application on my computer can read that drive properly the Beth launcher can only read the local C: drive, which again is fine by me if it would just let me install the SE there... -_- The reason this S drive even exists in the first place is because Skyrim needs to be installed outside of Program Files for some mods to work properly. Well, Steam won't let you create multiple libraries on the same drive so I had to trick it by mapping a network drive. The solution would seem to be completely uninstalling Skyrim SE, all my mods, and then re-installing in program files (or editing the text file in the steam directory manually that defines library directories so I can add another one on the same drive), re-installing NMM and then rebuilding my entire load order from scratch. That's madness. Please someone tell me I can install this another way because I'm not doing that.

LE Request - Back-shield for Runed Nordic shield mod.
DrxVL replied to DrxVL's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
My post was edited to remove any indication of payment. I was not notified of the edit. Are paid commissions against the rules? -
I'd like someone to make a backshield patch for the Runed Nordic Shield mod. It only takes about 15m for someone who knows what they're doing, but it would take me much longer. It needs to retain the glow effect of the runed noridc mod. My attempt didn't retain the glow. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3182 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/11559 Thanks! ^_^ Edit 1: Please post to nexus for everyone to enjoy as well. Edit 2: Oldrim has a mod that does this for the Immersive Armors bucklers. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/73065/?tab=files I'd run it through nif optimizer, but idk if that's sufficient to convert to SSE since it has scripts. If there is more work necessary, but is otherwise fairly trivial I'd appreciate seeing this converted too, but no big deal either way.

I still haven't figured out what's causing this. :(

https://imgur.com/a/cnuaw I just spent several days building a new LO from scratch since I've yet to play SE and when I finally thought I was done with all my testing and started playing I get 5 minutes in and find this. Any idea what could be going on? Thanks! ^_^ Plugins:

Questions about the unreleased RaceMenu alpha and ECE
DrxVL replied to DrxVL's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
@JimmyRjump That is pretty impressive for vanilla chargen. I'd wager I'd hate the way the lips look in a profile shot though. I've been really struggling to get decent looking lips with vanilla sliders. I'll keep working on it though. I suppose I can always install RaceMenu later and alter my appearance. It's definitely not worth postponing playing the game. I love the armor! :) -
So with the updated SKSE plugins from expired's GitHub the LE RaceMenu CAN be used in SSE... mostly. However, I've read that using any form 43 esps in SSE, even just one, will eventually cause catastrophic save corruption. I've been spending the last 4 days rebuilding a load order from scratch for a new SE playthrough so I'm still in testing phase and can safely futz around with it, but I wanted to know if what I've read Is true and how "safe" this alpha may or may not be. Has anyone used it extensively and noticed any problems? Also, while I'm not a fan of ECE it is at least released. However I've been reading a lot about some nasty wild edits that need to be cleaned up, and some broken functionality that has me worried. In the absence of good race menus, what can I do to sculpt a good face in SSE? Any advice is much appreciated! ^__^

While I know I've seen this option before, I can't seem to find it now. Edit: I figured it out. Thanks! ^_^

So this is happening to CBBE outfits (except for one for some reason) when I put them on NPCs. It doesn't happen to my character. I've built everything in bodyslide, and I'm using CBBE compatible body textures. What am I doing wrong? http://i.imgur.com/tZf7FZK.jpg

On the longevity of FO4, and the future of the modding scene.
DrxVL replied to DrxVL's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Unless you know any modders that have unrestricted free access to the original voice cast what I'm saying is that the vanilla game will never be "fixed" by mods in this respect. My OP is centered on fixing Fallout 4, because imo every modern Bethesda game is released in a horribly broken state, and I don't mean just bugs. In the past most of the major issues are addressed by the outstanding modding community. However, this specific issue is one that won't be fixed because it would require enormous quantities of new dialog and the original voice cast. This could also have implications on the story as a whole, creating new paths etc. The point is it's a near impossibility to alter or add to the original dialog of the vanilla game. I fully expect non-voiced quest mods to appear in great quantity, and even a few decent quality voiced ones. However, that doesn't address how bad the interactions in the core experience are. -
@tomomi1922, I have gore disabled in the ini which seems to disable the ash piles too unfortunately so I don't have that issue specifically. All the bodies seem to stick around anyway. That's an issue that's plagued every recent FO/ES game. Same deal with sneaking. As best I can tell they haven't even bothered *trying* to improve on the dated and broken stealth mechanics, much like most of the systems in the game. The opposite of the situation you describe also occurs. There are plenty of times I'm walking around in power armor, not even crouching, and no one even recognizes me. Some NV mods attempted to address the issue in that game, with minor success. Anyway, in regards to the original topic I'll probably just take a mod off like Evil D said. I wish I didn't have to do that though.

On the longevity of FO4, and the future of the modding scene.
DrxVL replied to DrxVL's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
@zanity. The pipe dream you speak of is one that I share. I agree with most of your post. I do think Bethjunkie correctly pointed out the wealth of amazing mods for NV that don't fall into the categories you mentioned, but that hardly invalidates the rest of your excellent post. If the modding community manages to overcome the challanges Bethesda has (probably unwittingly) put in place, and make it as great as [insert previous game here] I'll be happy. Unfortunately none of this has done anything to assuage my fears of the future of FO4 modding, but I will remain hopeful and keep a watchful eye on it. If my I'm-so-busy-I-can't-have-a-life schedule finds room in it I'll probably dust off my GECK manual too. -
@Warmaker01. It's like you said the laser sniper doesn't have a bad situation. I think that's my issue with it. I don't think there should be a jack of all trades weapon, especially one that does so well. Close range, long range, scoped aiming, hip-fire, or vats I can pretty much take on anything and not worry about ammo. I might not be able to alpha-strike some of the tougher opponents, but they'll die in the next hit. Oh well, maybe I'll find a mod that "fixes" it. Only one I've tried so far made some great changes, but the laser sniper still feels too strong to me. Maybe the more I play that will stop being the case.
