Crashes walking towards Windhelm and when looting body

I did that. Does giving ENB more RAM help with crashing from SkyRe Encounters or just in general? -
Crashes walking towards Windhelm and when looting body

Okay, disabling SkyRe_EncounterZones.esp got rid of the crash. Is it safe to re-enable it after I move on from this area? Can I do something to fix these crashes? -
Crashes walking towards Windhelm and when looting body
GooeyGungan replied to GooeyGungan's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I run BOSS to set my load order every time I install a new mod. Do you know what mods might conflict with SkyRe Encounters? -
When walking towards Windhelm, I have been getting crashes after rounding a corner where a thief was waiting to attack me. First, the crashes happened before I even got to the thief, but now when I get to the thief, the game crashes as soon as I try to loot her after killing her. Even if I use the "removeallitems" console command to clear her inventory, the game crashes when I try to loot her. I have experienced a couple random crashes walking around the game, but this one is reproducible. To clarify: when I say crash, I mean that the game immediately exits to my desktop - it does not freeze or black screen. I am using the RealVision ENB with ENB version 231, but the crash occurs with or without the ENB. My load order is:

When I use Project ENB, I get 60 FPS almost everywhere, but in some specific places, my FPS drops to 1-3. The only place I've consistently noticed this so far is in Whiterun. It isn't everywhere there, and I can't find anything specific that causes this when I look at it. However, it does consistently happen from the position that fast traveling to Whiterun puts you in. I tried RealVision ENB, and this does not happen. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Mods that Dawnguard breaks / break Dawnguard
GooeyGungan replied to GooeyGungan's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I just tried it for myself, since Dawnguard finished downloading. I'm not a vampire, but the werewolf tree works just fine. You just need to be in werewolf form to access it. And it scales terribly. I got two-shotted by guards that I could ordinarily kill with no problem. Point being, it works. Sorry for the false alarm. -
Since Dawnguard just game out (YAY!), I think we should get a list going of mods that are currently incompatible with it. If there's already a thread like this, I apologize. I searched as best I could, but my internet is down the tubes right now. I'll start with SkyRe. I haven't tried it yet, but I've read that the vampirism and lycanthropy perk trees that Dawnguard adds are inaccessible with SkyRe installed. What does everyone else have?

Buy it on steam right now. It's half off today only (I think - not sure on the timeline).

Alright. Wrye Bash it is, then. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed that the dev team comes back to life.
-
Thanks, but I'm still on the fence here. On the one hand, I've used Wrye Bash forever and know how it works, plus I like all the detailed features. On the other, support is currently very limited, and I really like the convenience of a 1-click install. I've heard a bashed patch is unnecessary in Skyrim. Is this true? This seems like it may be the deciding factor for me.

You, sir, are my hero. That works great! I had read something about this before, but I guess I didn't realize that you had to alt-tab twice once you got back to the black screen. Now, it does give me the double-cursor bug, but that is easily avoided by pressing tab to open the menu before alt-tabbing. Thanks!
-
If I alt tab out of Skyrim, when I go back, I get a black screen with music. I've looked around for a fix, and I've found one for the double-cursor bug, but not for this. Is there a solution? Is there a borderless windowed mode that works with SKSE?

I'm a veteran from the olden days of Oblivion, and back in those days, I almost always used Wrye Bash (with a small amount of OBMM). I've now got the urge to start modding Skyrim, and I was wondering what the thoughts were on the various options for installing mods that are out there. I think Wrye Bash is still around, and there's the NMM and Steam. I'm leaning towards NMM, just because of ease of use, but I was wondering if the bashed patch was still pretty much a necessity, in which case, I guess I'd have to go with Wrye Bash. Thanks for any advice!

Hi, I'm using the Alternative Start Arrive by Ship mod (and several others), and I get a crash when I sleep in the bed after filling out my immigration forms. Is this because of a conflict with Better Cities, perhaps? I can use the console to coc to other locations without the game crashing, so I'm pretty sure I haven't broken anything major. Here's my list of mods: Is there a solution to this problem? Something I'm overlooking? Thanks, -GG

Jediron: If I recall correctly, I had similar problems until I installed the latest version of Wrye Python. You can find it on the Wrye Bash page which Smooth613 so kindly linked in the post before this one. Hope this helps! -GG

By 3D, I think he means the 3D glasses-type-thing that NVIDIA can do. I'm not so sure how that'd work on a console. I really want to believe this is true, but my doubtful side is currently winning. ymmt0, prove me wrong please!

Strange blue border and unexplained crashes
GooeyGungan replied to GooeyGungan's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Hickory: Wrye Bash is set to automatic, and I just checked all the "Import ______" boxes on the bashed patch. I guess I must have installed something incorrectly. Oh well. Smooth613: That's not the effect I'm seeing. What I see is a one or two pixel wide border along the left and top of my screen. I'll try to get a good screenshot once I'm back on that computer. -
That link doesn't work for me. Isthis what I'm looking for?
-
Is there anywhere I could find "Origin of the Mages Guild" v7.3? I've found v6 here. The only reason I ask is because the compatibility patch for Better Cities says it's for OMG v7.3. On that note, will the patch work with v6? Thanks a ton! -GG

Strange blue border and unexplained crashes
GooeyGungan replied to GooeyGungan's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
As far as I can tell, Wrye Bash is detecting BOSS's suggestions. Is there something I should check? Does so does "Import xxxxx" mean that all the "Import [something]" options should be checked? Are there any that should not be? Yeah, I have the .bsa. And it's not all the weapons that are missing them, only a select few. -

Yes, I do use both Wrye Bash and BOSS. Is there something special I should be doing with them? Also, as far as I can tell, the missing meshes are all weapons. -
Strange blue border and unexplained crashes

I'll try setting some of those settings lower then and see if that helps. I've also started noticing a lot of missing meshes lately. Could these two problems be related? -
Strange blue border and unexplained crashes
GooeyGungan replied to GooeyGungan's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Alright. I'll try some of those suggestions. I'm running Streamline, so will it turn down any of those settings? Sorry for not posting my specs. They are: Intel Core i7 920 ATI Raedon 5780 6GB G.Skill RAM ASUS P6T -
Hey, everyone. I recently began having unexplained crashes irritatingly often, and there's a one (or maybe two) pixel blue border along the left side and the top of the game. These crashes almost always happen outside, and I have no idea what causes them. I feel like they happen around water, but that could be total coincidence. Here's my load order: Thanks for any help you can offer! -GG (PS: Should these types of threads go in "Mod Troubleshooting" or "Technical Support"? I can never tell.)
