  1. OK, let me start off by saying I haven't played Skyrim in months, and then I finally decided to install it on my new laptop where I learned I can play it on high quality (yay me.) Anyways, instead of carrying over my level 64 wizard from my old laptop I decided to start new clean run with the requiem mod and after a few hours of playing a wizard, I kinda need some tips on surviving because this is hell. Noted information Game difficulty : Legendary (I've always played TES on the hardest setting, this is just instinctive for me at this point) Role-playing info that more or less affects how I'm playing Race: Redguard (My favorite race in general, not changing it) Magic choices: Destruction, Restoration, Alteration, Enchantment, alchemy, conjuration (only level 3 right now with points in alteration, restoration, conjuration, and destruction) Like many some other redguards my character is ok with restoration and destruction magic (ok, unlike many other redguards he actually prefers them to a sword.) Like many other redguards he hates Necromancy and Illusion magic, but has little qualms with dealing with daedra, (So I won't be raising the dead/summoning skeletons or toying with the minds of others). Mods I'm currently running just for some insight- All official dlc Unofficial skyrim legendary edition patch Arissa Apachii hair Sky u Ceriden Vilja College of wintehjold immersive Inconsequential npc Immersive patrols 2 Requiem Requiem for the indifferent patcher ASIS I'm keeping my mods light because I want to avoid heavy conflict with Requiem, only reason I even got ASIS is because I was hoping it would perk Cerwiden and Arissa as they level up, but I have no clue if its actually working >.> Anyways, I'm currently just running around the surface world of skyrim with both Arissa and Cerwiden but neither is a tank and go down with 2-3 hits. I have very little mana (i've only put points in mana for the 3 levels) but have my destruction skill to 20. I only got to level 3 because I eventually made it to solitude and trained my destruction magic 4 points. In closed spaces I'm a dead an since I have very little room to dodge and weave and prices seems like I have the barter and trade mode on its highest difficulty o.o I lucked up and found a dead thalmor at a shrine which was wearing robes of destruction (yay free robes) I still need to get cerwiden some robes since she is running around in base clothing and I don't want to just give her random bandit armor due to the negative affects armor has on spell casting. So again I need some tips to survive the early stages of the game. I literally ran into a troll twice and I'm pretty sure that Hermaeus Mora was laughing at me both times since I lacked the mana reserves to fight its damn regen... or the health to survive its first to my face. Things I plan to do, I'm avoiding the whole "before the storm" quest for now, I really don't want to be the dragon born and I'v never played the college of winterhold immersive mod so I have no clue what to expect from it let alone combined with requiem. Also, again I haven't played skyrim in months, I kind of don't remember half of the quests in the game so I'm also relearning and rediscovering things while I play. I maybe adding a few modes like interesting npc and things that stop non mage type quest from instantly starting (looking at you thieves guild)! I think that is enough rambling, so any tips you all can offer would be appreciated. Also, wow this is the first time I've ever made a post asking for help SURVIVING A MOD, kudos to the makers!
  2. This is nothing compared to me in oblivion, not a single character made it to 20 in that game for me; hell, I never even beat the game! I was popping out characters like pez dispenser; Summoner (my favorite) elementalist, pure illusionist, assassin, thief, archer, hunter, battle mage, spellblade, monk, Necromancer, Wizard.. Hell, if you was to get real with it. I made atleast 2 summoners/necromancers, 3 pure mages, 2 battle mages... I sometimes got the urge to play templates that I already got bored of... The again, oblivion I felt gave me too much freedom, and didn't really make me feel like I was even trying sometimes. All archetypes just seem to blend together without any real specialization.
  3. I usually always do it mid or end game, I havent had any side effects that weren't mod produced, yet.
  4. Lol, that's the opposite of me, I could care little about armor look, o spend hours trying to put new spells, new quest, and new gameplay mechanics into my game... I've broken my saves quite a few times.
  5. Personally, by not doing EVERYTHING with ONE CHARACTER. I've had at least five or six characters by now; Illusionist/conjuror, Rogue, pure wizard, necromancer, elementalist but I've never done everything with one character. My rogue never joined the companions or mages guild, my necromancer never helped Meridia, my rogue never bother to even go on with the main quest.. so on and so forth. I believe people get burned out because they do everything on one character, level every skill, beat every storyline and afterwards, there is nothing. One of the cons, that comes with the level of freedom the elderscrolls gives.
  6. Name: Hi'kim Alik'r (Even though I beat the game and Dawnguard main storu, my character is not dovahkiin.) Race: Redguard Class: Elementalist Major Skills: Destruction magic, Conjuration magic (Atronach only) Alteration magic, and Restoration magic Minor: Alchemy, Enchantment, and Speech craft. Favorite weapon: None, he has always depended on his mastery over the elements, or sweet honey tongue (just ask *insert female npc*) Quote: "The secrets of the Hiradirge will be mine, it is just will take a bit of patience and meticulous Researching." Short Story: Hi'Kim is a Redguard who spawns from the Alik'r deserts, in search of the lost power of The Hiradirge Ansei wizard group. The reason behind his search is still unknown, but his search lead him across many provinces of Tamerial and even caused him to seek out Hermaeus Mora in exchange for servitude to the Daedric Prince of Knowledge and Memories. Like many other of his kind, he holds no love for the manipulation of the mind or resurrection of the dead, but unlike his kind; he holds no qualm with communing with Daedra or even befriending a vampire under the right circumstances. Despite the creatures that he tends to associate with, he has proven time and time again, that he is more then willing to lend his magic to those who need it; s long as it doesn't step on the toes of his governing Daedric Prince, or Azura and Meridia; two other Daedra Lords that he has willingly served before. http://i57.tinypic.com/otdppz.jpg http://i57.tinypic.com/wsl1s.jpg
  7. If you had no choice but to serve a Daedric Prince, which would you choose? 1. Hermaeus Mora- this one is a must for a mage such as myself, but the question is; how much could I gain before I'm backstabbed? 2. Azura- I mean, if I wanted the lesser of the two evils, she would be a close second. 3. Meridia- Similar to Azura, I feel this may be another DP that won't have someone put a blade through my throat.
  8. Destruction magic with conjuration coming in a close second because of the elementals astronach. Then again I'm a element a list.
  9. Look, all the Thalmor has to do is keep their little inuisition out of Hammerfall, and they will have no problem with me. They lost to Redguards once, and will do so again if they try to take it again.
  10. I'll have to try that the when I can. I've come to the conclusion that its actually my laptop and not the mods, when it did it during smite and then for no reason when I while I was trying to Download videos. I think the fans are broken since I've had this laptop for 2 years+ and this is the first time I've ever had this problem.
  11. Why does this happen to me? So for a long while, I've played Skyrim on this computer, with minimal problems that weren't caused by lingering scripts from who knows what mod. After a few months off break from the game, I decided to replay Dawnguard amd a few mods, but first I wanted to clean up my game and try and salvage my old save file so I wouldn't need to start over (success!) I restored skyrim to vanill and was even able to fix the crashes in my old files, now skyrim wan't even lagging in the slightest. I proceed to tos in a few, carefully picked mods, and then beat dawnguard without much of a problem. Feeling lucky, I went against past experience and tried to get Dragonborn to work, and success! No black screen with sound, access to the menus, and so on; so now I can finally play the dlc I spent money on....or so I thought. Not even two minutes into the game, my whole compute goes black, to the point I need to restart the whole system. The screen informed me that it overheated, and has been doling it since yesterday. What is causing the overheating, surely it can't be Dragonborn/dawnguard, because this isn't the first time I've had them both active at the same time; with threetimes as many mods as a I am currently running. So I can only assume this is actually a hardware problem?
  12. So this is a two part question. 1. How many followers do you feel I'd too many? 2. What is your current team set up? My answer; 1. I'm going to go with 3 max, and that's just because I've finally replayed dawnguard just to see it from the side of the dawnguard, and I've always had a thing for Serena. When I was just running with two followers, I was already looking for ways to tweak the game to make it feel more, intense, heck, I was doing that when I wa just running around with frost astronach.. Heck, I even removes the balance magic it mod because it was making destruction magic scale too freaking well and I was 2 shorting even dragons with incinerate. So, having two followers almost felt like overkill. 2.My current team is Arissa the wondering rogue, Serena the vampiress tease, and Sofia the one who needs to get laid. I've tried both, but he bored me quickly, cerwiden, but yea... I need more meat shields, not to be one. kitiara, was good for a while, but got replaced by Sofia...she really needed more lines. And Vilja, just Vilja....that is all I can say about her. Special mentions goes to flame astronach who has been with me since day 1, and frost astronach who took those hits like a god. Also to dremora lords who I refuse to use since they make even legendary sleepy mode.
  13. It was worth a try in asking, thanks anyways.
  14. Thats still a mod, my question pertains to what is gained from it in general WITHOUT MODS THAT DEPEND ON IT.
  15. Would anyone be willing to expand on elemental magic?, specifically Stone Magic? I actually would like to see a rework of destruction magic in general, bringing in the two missing elements, Aeromancy geomancy, or working areomancy with shock, hydromancy into frost, and giving geomancy its own stand alone playing field. I would be satisfied with just stone magic, since it's part of Hiradirge and Ansei lore and could be handled differently then the others. I would like to see the elements do a bit more then just hurt the enemy, I would like to see different type of affects attaches to them. I would make them myself, but I wouldnt have the slightest clue where to begin when it comes to modding.
