  2. Why not just use that one in the mean time? It's giving you exactly what you want, and you can put the 1-handed version from the quest on display.
  3. I wasn't quite sure where to post this, but is there a mod out there that makes Knight-Paladin Gelebor's version of the Ancient Falmer Cuirass (the one without the shoulder pauldrons) obtainable? I've tried looking on Nexus, and the only thing I found was a replacer mod. Like...I want both versions of the armor both obtainable and temperable, but don't have the modding skills to do it myself.
  4. I'd love to see this mod released. Here's hoping :-)
  5. So, you know how in the lore it's said that Ulfric Stormcloak was captured near Darkwater Crossing by an Imperial ambush? It can be assumed that the Dragonborn was caught in that same ambush by mistake. What I'd like to see done is an expansion to the vanilla opening sequence, where the Dragonborn is roused from sleep during the night by the sounds of fighting, only to be captured with Ulfric and the Stormcloaks by a group of Imperial soldiers, and then transported to Helgen as in the vanilla opening. It honestly surprises me that no one's done this already.
  6. So, one thing that's always bothered me is how some of the shrines for Daedric Lords (Molag Bal, Mephala, Hircine, Sanguine) are tiny-to-nonexistent, when you've got stuff like the Shrine of Azura and Mount Kilkreath in the same world. While it would take a lot of work to build whole dungeons/shrines for the likes of Mephala and Hircine, Molag Bal has the Abandoned House already in-world. What I'd like to see is the cave his altar is contained in expanded a little, to make it look like human sacrifices were actually performed there, with maybe a shrine somewhere in the room to get a Blessing of Molag Bal (which would have to be created. Maybe like Fortify Bleed Damage or something).
  7. Thanks a ton! I knew it had to be something like that. I don't have any screenshots of the original mod's enchantment names, so I just had to make them up, lol. If I got real anal I could try and pass it through a translator, but I'm lazy. Anyway, thanks!
  8. I just downloaded that, but don't know enough about modding to know what needs to be edited for things not to get broken. Would you mind giving me a generic step-by-step? Near as I can tell, the only things that need translating are the item names and the enchantment description.
  9. Dovahmaar and Dovahfaas, made by Dreogan. He deleted that, and his Skyforge Weapons and Shields mod from Nexus after putting them up for sale on Steam. It's a small set of Akaviri-inspired Daedric weapons with unique enchantments.
  10. So, in light of the whole "Steam introducing paid mods" thing, I happened across one of the many mods that was made into a paid mod (but, like many, isn't able to be purchased). I went looking to see if I could find the mod in question for free, and was unable to find it here (as the mod's creator deleted it from Nexus after releasing it as a paid mod on Steam), but I DID find it on a Russian site. The mod is complete, but the in-game text for the mod is all gibberish, as my Skyrim is set to English. Can anyone walk me through how I could go about editing the mod's files to translate them back into English?
  11. I actually came up with what I think would be a small quest mod a few days ago. Basically, it gives the "The Book of Life and Service" that you find in the Soul Cairn some meat, and it makes the three Conjuration spellbooks you're after a little easier to find. The way I look at it, the Dragonborn should be pretty much obligated to take a little of the Soul Cairn home with him. A possible connection to the Reaper would be cool too. Essentially, the Dragonborn is trying to get the attention of the Ideal Masters by co-opting all of their cronies in the Soul Cairn.
  12. So, I just got to the Soul Cairn in my current Skyrim playthrough, and I actually took a minute to read a copy of "The Book of Life and Service". My idea is to have a quest trigger once you read the book that would point you towards the three Conjuration spellbooks found in the Soul Cairn, to make you master of the Ideal Masters' minions. Ideally it would include quest markers so that you can find your way to the books without having to wander around for hours looking for them. Could anyone make this mod?
  13. So, I'm playing Skyrim on the Dawnguard side, and I happened to blunder into the Redwater Skooma Den. Now, I did some reading, and discovered that the Redwater Skooma Den, though added by the Dawnguard DLC, is only available as a quest location if you side with the Volkihar Vampires. What I'd like to see is a quest, provided to you by someone like Isran or Gunmar, that would send you to Redwater Den to both clear it out, and maybe claim/destroy the Bloodstone Chalice in the name of the Dawnguard. How difficult would it be to make a quest like this? Obviously there wouldn't be any voice files for it (unless maybe the quest-giver was Florentius Baenius, using his initial dialogue pertaining to the Dawnguard artifacts).
  14. Mm.. Falmer were driven away by nords, from which dragon priests were born. It could make sense that he wanted to achieve similar power to dragon priests. However, this idea has flaw as well. Arch-Curate isn't interested on abilities gained from others. If I correctly remember he doesn't use any vampiric abilities or powers. He hates vampires, which is most likely the reason he froze his brethren inside ice as well. So I'd say lore-wise he wouldn't try to copy something from the monsters that wanted to kill them and drove them from their lands. I'd say it'd be more interesting to see some sort of elven artifacts in similar style as Auriels bow and shield are. It could be elven mage frozen in time at the lake, wearing ceremonial clothing and mask. (Imagine morrowind ordinator- style mask with falmeric colors and style) Though I'll stop hijacking thread here. Hey, any contributions are welcome. I'll admit that Skyrim is my first Elder Scrolls game, so I don't know the lore as well as I probably should for suggesting a lore-based mod. I just thought it would be cool to have sort of a "sub-boss" in the Forgotten Vale area that wasn't a dragon. The reason I initially suggested a Dragon Priest was because Dawnguard is the only big DLC that doesn't have Dragon Priests as bosses. Another idea I had was that the Dragon Priest, as well as the dragons and word wall were already there when the Snow Elves built the Shrine of Auri-El (which also explains why it's so high on the hill. They're trying not to wake the dragons), and after the fall of the Snow Elves either Knight-Captain Gelebor or Arch-Curate Vyrthur kind of..."deputized" the Dragon Priest in order to hold the other at bay. Vyrthur did so only reluctantly, possibly as an attempt to rid himself of his Vampiric abilities (thinking that passing them to someone else would somehow get rid of them). Knight-Captain Gelebor did it specifically because he dared not proceed any further into Forgotten Vale.
  15. EDIT: SO I just had an idea. The "Dragon Priest" in question would in fact be a Lich created by Arch-Curate Vyrthur, in an attempt to duplicated the process by which the Dragon Priests were created. He then set his "Dragon Priest" to guarding the dragons and word wall, as if to legitimize it as an actual "Dragon Priest". Depending on one's alignment in the Dawnguard questline, it would either be Knight-Captain Gelebor's second-in-command, or the vampire that cursed Vyrthur in the first place, which would explain why the abilities of the looted mask and staff would be aligned with a Vampire Lord or Hunter.
