  1. I asked about this several years ago but fell out of Skyrim since then until recently. I've always wanted a mod that sets the game's timescale to something slower while you're in dialogue, to get past the problem of a friendly chat with an NPC taking up half the day just because the timescale is zooming by in the background. I remember back when I previously asked, someone actually made the mod for me, apparently it was super simple to implement, but the attachment no longer works (it was here: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/3260204-change-timescale-during-dialogue/). I have the Dynamic Timescale mod installed and I love it, but does anyone know of a way to add an option for setting the timescale during dialogue as well as combat?
  2. I'm making this post in a sort of dull desperation because I'm rapidly losing all hope that my copy of Skyrim will ever work again, even in vanilla. I've had it on PC for about a year and I used to have tons of mods installed. Apart from the odd crash here and there, it was mostly stable, even with 200+ mods installed. Keep in mind at this point I was still very much a novice modder, using NMM and not even understanding what SKSE did. Maybe half a year ago I switched to MO because my game was having a lot of problems, and at first it seemed to work. But then my game started having bigger problems. Problems like every save I had crashing my entire game, which necessitated a complete reinstall of the game. Then it crashed every time I entered Falkreath Hold - the ENTIRE hold crashed my game. That meant another complete reinstall. And now? Now the game crashes at an unacceptable rate. It crashes almost every time I try to save, unless I die first and then save (and that has to be repeated every fifteen minutes or it starts crashing again). It also crashes at random spots around the game, whether going through a loading screen or just running around the landscape. I'm just... so done. I don't know what's causing it. I've looked up every variation of "how to make Skyrim stop crashing because of X" that I can think of and nothing has helped. I installed some mods that are supposed to increase stability - no change, still crashes. A month or two ago I uninstalled more than half of the mods I had left, with most of the remaining ones being things like hair and tattoo mods, no major overhauls or anything. And it's still crashing. I can't pinpoint what's causing it. I don't know what to do. Skyrim used to be my favorite game, and now playing it is just so stressful because I never know when it's going to crash next. I want to play modded Skyrim, I don't want to have to play vanilla, but if that's what it takes to make it work again then f*#@ it. Can someone just... take a look at my load order to see if there's something that I've missed? I use MO, I pay attention to the requirements listed on every mod's page, I avoid incompatibilities, I double check everything I install. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I just want my game back. 3. Bahaha yep. Thanks for helping though, I appreciate it even if I pretty much failed at everything haha
  4. Really? How did you even get it to work for you, I swear every time I try to use this program I encounter yet another roadblock. It's a big reason why I'm so woefully inept at modding, because there's no way for me to get any damn practice with Creation Kit always f*#@ing up
  5. Well I tried verifying cache to see if it got deleted somehow - nothing happened but now I'm getting this when I try to load the master files: Assert File: ..\TES Shared\misc\BGSLocalizedString.cpp Line: 2871 LOCALIZATION: Error opening or reading strings file. No matter what I do, if I press Abort, Retry, or Ignore - no matter what Creation Kit crashes shortly afterwards. I'm so beyond done trying to get this stupid program to f*#@ing work
  6. I'm... a little lost on that. I tried to create a script? I think I did it right? But when I try to make it it says "The extends script does not exist, please pick a new one" and all the fixes I've been looking up basically say that I need to extract scripts from scripts.rar except that folder seems to literally just not exist for me and I'm getting really frustrated.... Like, I haven't done anything in the Creation Kit before apart from creating and altering NPCs. And the wiki makes no sense to me. I'm really just blundering my way through all this.
  7. mfancy I'm not entirely sure how to "take a look at their script." I've got the file open in Creation Kit now but I don't know where to look to see what they've altered... is there something I'm missing? sLoPpYdOtBiGhOlE Thanks, I'm playing with it now, hopefully I can find something that will work. I'm kinda unfamiliar with everything in Creation Kit not related to making/editing an NPC, haha.
  8. So I've searched all over but never found anything like this and I wanted to know if it was possible. Basically I picked up Oblivion several months ago and I enjoyed how the game would pause during dialogue, so I didn't have to worry about wasting my day talking to one person. I kind of want something similar in Skyrim, only say, just slowing down the timescale during dialogue. So if I have my timescale set to default, 20, then it only passes at a speed of 10 during dialogue. (This is honestly kind of made necessary with Interesting NPCs since they talk FOREVER and take up half my day with talking.) I don't want to request this or anything, I'd much rather make it myself - just wondering if, theoretically, it might be possible to make something like this in Creation Kit or whatever.
  9. Okay, new problem. I'm getting frustrated. Suddenly it seems all my mods except OneTweak are working again, but now it won't launch SKSE. As in, I tell MO to launch SKSE, and it launches Skyrim. I tried starting a new game to test and got like 5000 alerts from all my mods saying "SKSE isn't installed! This mod won't work correctly!" How... what... why.... EDIT: Oh never mind lol. The SKSE launcher through MO was pointing at TESV.exe, not SKSE itself. Fixed. I think that's all my problems solved now... gah that was a nightmare. Thanks for your help though!
  10. Okay... I let it run and it's still starting up vanilla, with no mods. I need to find out how to point it at where mods would normally be installed. NO guides I've looked at seem to have any instructions on how to do this.
  11. So I moved the Mod Organizer folder to the Skyrim folder and tried to run SKSE, and got this message: "This process requires elevation to run. This is a potential security risk so I highly advise you to investigate if 'C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/Skyrim/TESV.exe' can be installed to work without elevation. Start elevated anyway? (you will be asked if you want to allow ModOrganizer.exe to make changes to the system)" I... do not know what "elevation" means in this context. I'm afraid to click yes because I don't want it to mess up my game/computer....
  12. Yeah, the mods are in the "mods" folder in Mod Organizer, I checked. I have Mod Organizer hanging out in a little folder called "f*#@ Everything" in My Documents (because modding Skyrim is the most frustrating thing I've ever done), but that's where it's always been - I've never had any problems with it being there before. Do I just... move the folders over to the Skyrim folder, or something? I prefer not to watch videos tbh, it's annoying to sit there and watch them cover everything I don't need first before they get to what I want, if they even do - and the only way to find out is to watch the whoooole thing. I used this guide when first starting out, but either I'm really bad at searching for stuff or there's nothing on how to get MO to run your mods in it, just how to install them (which I already know how to do).
  13. Yeah they're installed in Program Files (x86), but I've already made sure that MO, SKSE, and TESV.exe are running as administrator. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with MO not knowing where to put the mods while running the game, but I've been searching everywhere and there's no guide that I can find on how to do this, which is why I need someone experienced with MO. I'm still fairly new to it and I'm not that good at modding to begin with, I've just sort of stumbled my way into it and still have major problems with unstable load orders (although that's not my main focus right now. I need a damn modding tutor).
  14. Yeah, it's in there. I've spent an hour trying to get everything back to the way it was. I definitely remember something about pointing MO to where it's supposed to install the mods, which I had to do when I first installed it, but for the life of me I cannot remember how to do that, and I can't find any instructions on it in the guide. I'm not sure if that's the problem but it seems likely.
