  1. Thank you again! That actually makes sense. I am just getting into scripting and the error I have been receiving is the result of my not utilizing this method. Somehow I failed to read that part when I installed the previous version of OBSE. I appreciate your help and I look forward to encountering you again in the future here on the Nexus. Have a great day!
  2. Thank You Keirgarth! I figured out my problem. I renamed the OBSE Loader to reflect the version I was using (so I would not forget), so I was giving it a command to look for a file that no longer existed. Do you by chance know if I need to use the command prompt each time or does what I just did reset the TESConstructionSet to load with OBSE permanently now? Sorry to be such a novice. My computer skills are a bit dated at times. Thanks again for your help!
  3. Greetings, I am install OBSE 0020 and I have the loader & the dll files in the correct folder. My issue relates to using the Command Prompt to link the TESConstructionSet to launch with the obse_loader. My skills at nagivating the Command Prompt are limited, as I have not had to do it in over 20 years. I have made it to the correct folder (D:\Game Folder\Oblivion on my system) and I typed the "obse_loader -editor" as instructed in the OBSE Readme, but got "is not a recognized internal or external command." Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks, William
  4. I actually have to admit my ignorance on that point. I have encountered the figure, but learned why that was the case. Thanks for the info Qwaxalot! And I am looking forward to your guide NinjaGoddess, Thanks!
  5. Ads with DAP?! I use the free version of DAP and do not have an issue with ads. I was actually going to suggest using it until I re-read the previous post. The only issue I have with downloads is the one I already mentioned and it appears from Buddha's post they are working on it. Maybe you just have a different version of something. I found it on several sites. Unfortunately I do not remember the exact one on which I found the version I use.
  6. I told my buddy about your guide and he was very interested. He would probably not find it boring in the least as he looks for odd challenges to occupy himself until I am closer to finishing my PC overhaul of the game. I have not actually played Final Fantasy X, but I do understand what you are saying. I am a bit OCD and am notorious for quirky behavior such as pointless map clearing. Thanks to a mod I downloaded, I have close to 3500 hp on one of my characters. I was showing my buddy a new home I just added into the game. You should see his face when I jumped off the top of the mountain and didn't die.
  7. That is very interesting to know NinjaGoddess. I mean the exploiting of the roll over. I would guess that it is the same for the PC version as I have seen scripting references asking the game whether it is the 360 version. So I am guessing the coding of the game is the same more-or-less. As for the guide, I have a friend playing the 360 version that might be interested. I will ask him and get back with you if he is up for it. I am just working on mods at the moment and not even really playing, but the guide might be valuable to me as well because we are experimenting with incorporating higher level creatures into the game.
  8. First, thank you both for taking the time to respond to my post. As far as the UV map Megatarius, I have a rough idea what it is. So, I think/hope I can figure it out. I am still in the early stages of learning to mod Oblivion and little projects like this are indispensable at learning new skills. Besides regardless of whichever body I choose as my primary choice, if I do not learn to incorporate the textures of the other types, I will lose out on some really super work. Thanks very much again for your help!
  9. I actually had about a dozen characters developed before I started a more-or-less complete overhall of the game. My original character is however still my favorite by far. A Breton sorceress named Calipygia. When my buddy first bought the game we started playing on a broke-down laptop. He initially selected an Imperial male, so I decided to create a female character to gauge the difference in game play. She turned out so nice, I kept her. Later, we discovered just how modifiable the game could be and we transferred the game to my PC. After upgrading the graphics, I rebuilt her from scratch and she turned out better than before. At this point I have several hundred hours of game play with the character and I an still working out her entire back story. As I play her more-or-less as nobility anyway, I have made her into a Breton princess that is essentially sowing-her-oats as they used to say and seeing the world. Some of the other characters I have developed include and orc barbarian, a demon warrior, a female Nord gladiator and a blind monk. My list of future character candidates is longer than my leg as I currently have close to 200 playable characters loaded into my system.
  10. If you are speaking from a strictly vanilla standpoint, the White Stallion Lodge. A buddy of mine plays the Xbox version and uses that place frequently. The mission to access it is simple and you get to use it for the duration of the game. He says Mazoga never bother s his stuff and the containers do not respawn. If you would like a suggestion for a really nice mod home, try Castle Seaview. It involves a simple 3 part quest to acquire but the place is awesome. I am presently dabbling with over a hundred mod homes and by far that is still my favorite. It is well laid out and not an over-the-top uber-palace. Right amount guards, merchants & special features. Custom armor, a horse and donkeys. I had one of my characters riding a donkey in the courtyard, I could not stop laughing. Definitely worth checking out!
  11. Yes, I would most definitely have to go into the spoiled category myself and so does the rest of my household. Before Oblivion, I was die hard into playing Sacred, so much so I had developed something like 65 player characters and was playing daily. My brother and his family are major WOW players and they tried their best to convert me. I enjoyed the game, yes, but I was not sold. I like the free-roam affect, but I am not a major fan of online play personally. Too much negative interaction with other players. For example, one of the starter missions took me over an hour and a half to complete because someone else would beat me to the quest target and I had to wait 8 more minutes to for it to regenerate. I also felt the graphics were a little too cartoonish for my personal tastes. One of my best friends bought Oblivion on a whim and we have been obsessed for over a year and a half. People say we talk about the game like we live it and I guess on a level we do because we are either always discovering something new or adding some cool new mod and we are forever talking about it. The graphics was the element that initially sold me and when I discovered just what the game was capable of due to modding, I was more than sold. I personally find that the few negatives of the vanilla game are easily overcome by anybody willing to put the time and effort into modding the game to their personal standard. It is a running joke with my daughter (who also plays) that I will be modding this game until I am 60! I don't actually see myself modding for the next 22 years, but Oblivion is not going away anytime soon!
  12. I am not entirely certain that 255 can be reached. The number 255 must be some kind of "magick" number in game programming mathematics because I have encountered it as the limiting figure in several other games I have modded. I play the PC version and have artificially dabbled with increasing values to gauge the outcome as far as character response. Using combinations of various rings, necklaces and such I have managed to exceed the 255 limit of certain skills. My daughter jumps her character all over the map like she is related to the Hulk! But as far as pushing the character's actually limits, I tried to make a Snow Leopard (one of Slof's superb mods) run beyond the 255 mark and the result was a "roll-over" and restart from the bottom of the scale with the character running at snail speed. If anybody manages to reach the point, I would love to hear about though. Good luck and happy gaming!
  13. I personally find this post interesting because in all the time I have been using the Nexus site, I have never really paid much attention to negative endorsements. I am guilty of being one of those members cited above as being more-or-less a perpetual downloader. I am still building the skills necessary to ultimately upload my first big, must-have, work-of-art, "perfect" mod. With that said, I am not sure as to how I would feel about receiving a negative endorsement on something I put a great deal of time into, even if others think it is garbage. I think bben has a good point about a mod being rated as essentially too positive as well. How much time did the reviewer actually put into playing the mod before actually posting a positive endorsement. When considering a new mod to download, I often look for any positive endorsements as well as to the number of times it has been downloaded, I have seen many brilliant mods with next to no positive support and hundreds and hundreds of downloads. I have also downloaded some as well with lengthy download histories that I did not like at all. I am not sure that I would go so far as to ever give a negative endorsement, unless there is something seriously wrong with the mod and the creator does not wish to take action to rectify the issues. I really don't seen any competent modder failing to take action, especially if a courteous request for assistance is made for help. With only a couple of exceptions, I have found that mods that did not work either failed for one of two reasons: 1) I failed to install the mod correctly or 2) there is something legitimately wrong with the mod and I am going to find a patch for it back of the download page. For anyone that has or would actually consider providing negative endorsements, I would suggest in the future that they should be treated much like the negative feedback given on ebay. There if you do not like the transaction, you are expected to try to work something out with the seller before marking the experience as a negative one because it affects the sellers reputation. Even though it as not as serious here, with not money changing hands, there are those that may take even the most frivolous negative comments to heart and someones genuinely quality work may perpetually go unnoticed. So, why should they consider posting more, if you are only going to beat them down? Consider the fact that the best mod you are NEVER going to have is probably sitting on that modder's pc right now and it will never get uploaded because they feel dejected by the modding community.
  14. I have gotten that same message on several occasions. Typically it is with larger downloads, but not always. As I have an aircard w/ poor reception, I am dependent on download acceleration software and thus use the premium servers whenever possible. When I get this "error," I find that simply switching to the other premium server (UK) works every time and my files download without hesitation. Hope this was helpful.
  15. My brother and his family are big time into WOW and he serves as Admin for their guild. Apparently hacking accounts on their site is big business. I have seen him on more than one occasion trying to help recover someone's lost characters and goods. He has also showed me people illegally selling gold for real life profit. As shady as a real drug deal. I do not envy any of the Nexus staff for the headaches this can cause and I am glad I prefer to play Oblivion, which is not online!
  16. Greetings all, I am interested in getting guidance from experienced modders about the possibility of converting Robert's Female Body textures to fix the HGEC body. This is strictly for personal use, not to be uploaded. I have no desire to infringe on anybody else's work without permission. I use the HGEC body because I both like it and it is probably the most prevalently used female body mod for the game. However, some very great work has been done utilizing the Robert's Female Body and if possible, I would like to employ these textures into my personal mods. However, because the textures do not match the meshes, the textures appear twisted in the game. So my question are, "Is it possible to covert the textures designed for Robert's Female to fit the HGEC meshes to avoid the distortion and how would I go about doing it (if it is not ridiculously difficult or overly time consuming)?" Thanks is advance for any guidance and assistance in this project!
