  1. LOL thats a very interesting way of putting it! Thanks for giving me my first chuckle of the morning! :)
  2. True that about Jojjo's. And you can alter the stats on them in the forge. Tho TS, I'm really, really glad that you're doing all this to help palagriz out. So please don't think anything bad of it, me asking you to use the edit button when you can. Here in the request forums. Since we don't allow thread bumping it kinda puts some of the requests lower down on the page with the new posts in this one. And I just don't wanna see anybody start bumping, and then get into trouble, or get their thread closed ;) Or, since this technically can't be done to spec in the TS, and has to be done in game, I could move this thread to the mod talk section, If Palagriz doesn't mind. And then that way we wouldnt have to worry about the "request forums" etiquettes in general ;) But thats just IF you want me to, Palagriz.
  3. hehe not sure which Dark you're thanking, and I can't speak for Robin, but I'm always glad to try to help out when I can
  4. Heyas CC :) What about your virtual memory, have you moved that over to a different drive/partition? have you tried ccleaner? http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER that might help out some. there's also winoptimizer from ashampoo. comes with a 40 day trial. for a small-ish partition like that, I'd almost recommend something like doing a fresh format to get rid of all the crapfiles, install your bare minimums and then creating an image of the partition and save that to another area of the comp. Then periodically restore the drive from the image/backup as the part starts to fill up. Not that I'm really recommending it, but if you've got a home network, or another computer there at home you might even consider having that system load the OS via the network and free up the space from that off the drive. Not something the average home user wants to go to all the trouble to do tho.
  5. Heyas Everybody :) We formatted a friend of mine's comp a couple of weekends ago, and it turns out that she lost some of her pics. (I asked her three times if she was sure she had them all  ) I know the chances of recovering them are marginal, since we reinstalled the OS and a few softwares. That there's the possibility of the allocations having been overwritten. But, I told her that I'd check it out and see maybe if we could come up with something to check out. Freeware... probly not an option, but would be awesome. Shareware could be ok, depending on the limitations. Buyware might be an option depending on the price for her budget. And if she thinks it's worth it just for some pics. TIA for any input/recommeds :) -DW
  6. Hiyas Kicker :) Afraid that I have bad news for you on this one. :( There isn't any way to reset an area that you've visited if it's in your save game. And the game itself doesn't use spawners, so there's no way to get them to reappear either. Now, I do know that there was a mod from a while back that installed a new adventure to the game, and had resettable spawners. But unfortunately, I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called :( :wallbash: For more adventures, you would need to either buy the DLC packs to install new adventures, install mods which add more adventures, and/or travel more, so that you are getting more fights between cities.
  7. I didnt see this when you'd originally posted it, but about an hour and a half later, I'm seeing your premium membership banner. If you're not seeing it yourself, try logging out and back in. If that doesn't do it, try logging out, deleting your nexus cookies from your browsers internet files/cache and try logging back in. Hope this helps :) -DW
  8. I was going to post something very similar to Lon's post in #12, but he and Vagrant have both done a terrific job (as always) of it. I will go ahead and second it, that adding your virtual memory to a different partion or HDD than the OS is also a good thing. I also have to second what Osisab said about windows vista and especially windows 7 with that gd'd C:\Program Files (x86) folder. Win7 sometimes has some serious admin privelages issues with that folder. Sometimes it's easy to overcome by creating a second admin acccount. But still.
  9. Well guys, I can tell y'all right now that the upper administration of the site doesn't like the discussion of ROMS, so I hate to say it... but discussing the emulation here on the boards would be something that we should stay away from. I do know that there's sites online that have a lot of the old classic console games available. Gametap is a good example. Tho they charge for monthly membership. But its an example of what I'm referring to. Some of them have some that you can download to play, or others have got the games converted to flash or java to play thru your browser. Not at home right now, but I did a google search for classic console games online that turned up some interesting results. I also did a search for Atari and found that Direct2drive has some old atari classics for sale for the PC. I would image that a search for other manufacturers would come up with similar results. Man.... I miss some of those old games. I used to love Rygar when I was a knee-biter
  10. Heyas Scivener :) Yeah, a lot of web boards won't let you use HTML coding on the forums. Largely because it's possible to throw in code that is anywhere from mischievious to downright malicious into the post. But as you figured out, forum code does work pretty well :) Interesting about the quotes! I'll try to remember that one :) -DW
  11. I'll let TS handle the part about adding the properties, since I don't know if that changed any at all with the newer versions. The thing about them being one handed, main hand weapons.... as long as you are creating hand axes, not battle axes, they will be main hand UNTIL you have the dual weapon mastery. (see my above post on how to cheat your character to have it) Once you have that skill, you can then wield the axe in either hand. Its not a matter of the weapon... its the character trying to use the weapon ;) S/He only knows how to use it in that one hand until they learn how to use it in either. ;) It's kinda like trying to teach your other hand how to write in cursive ;) The same would be in effect if we were talking about swords. Until you have Dual Weapon Mastery, you can only handle a sword in the main hand. But after gaining the skill you can use it in either hand, or two at once ;) The green glow will be applied when you add the nature damage, or enhance it with a nature rune. ;) In the older version of twf that I'm using, you go into the camp and click on the aurel and choose to disable the material check. That makes it so that you can use the forge freely. Tho as I said, I'm afraid I'm not familiar with the new version since I can't play it. Hope this helps some :) -DW
  12. Oh sweet! Kudos given for the contribution! Awesome of you to take the time to write it all down! Yup, you found it. Thats exactly where the other members of the party are. And they have a very similar style as the main player's character ;)
  13. Heyas Again EDilwen :) No problem! It was good timing, I guess. I just happened to be visiting not too long after you'd posted ;) Ok, cool... i'm glad that you knew what I was talking about then. I just tend to go ahead and add info like that when it might be for somebody who isn't familiar with some of the limitiations of the toolcrap. :D Well, when I was looking that up, I was looking at an autosave, created on a character RIGHT after the introduction conversation. There were at least 20 entries there. And while it would be awesome to know what some of those are, some of them will not be the same from character to character, since some of them would change from profession to profession. But yeah, if you want to go ahead and make that list, I am sure that it might help somebody along who's also wanting to do this
  14. Heyas EDilwen :) It is, and it isn't. It is possible to edit the character's stats in a savegame. However, it is not possible to do so on a character that has finished the game. The toolset will only open a savegame file that is about 1 megabyte in size. Most end game saves are larger than that. So when you try to open them in the TS, it crashes with an "Out of memory" Error. To do so you open savegame.das (NOT das.met) in the TS. And pray that the file will open. Then scroll thru the list til you get to SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR (yes, it will be in all capital letters) and click the + sign next to it. You will see an entry that reads SAVEGAME_CREATURE_STATS click the + nex to that to expand it. This is where all the points on your character are spent. For their attributes, go a bit further and click the + next to SAVEGAME_STATLIST and this is what you would want to edit their stats. It will be a list that starts with 0 and could be any number of entries. UNfortunately they do not have a lable for what the entry actually IS, so it might end up being guesswork on what you are changing :( :(
  15. Heyas Palagriz :) No worries about the email addy. Just tryin to protect the members of my family here in the DA forums ;) It wouldn't need to be modded for the warrior class. The thing about AW's is that they use their magic talent as the attribute requirement for weapons and armor, rather than their strength. Because many AW's dont have the points to spend in the non-magic related attributes. So a warrior wielding these would use the STR attribute rather than magic ;) Sorry to hear about your guild :( I know that happens with a lot of the online games :( The newer versions of Winter Forge do also include starmetal as an available material ;) Well, to make a mod like this you would need to download and install the Dragon Age toolset. Search for bioware dragon age toolset or fileplanet dragon age toolset for the download. Getting it to install correctly can be a royal crapshoot tho. Either it will run, or it won't :( BUT... like I said earlier on.... the toolset will not make these axes within the specs that you're wanting. The toolset is limited to 5 properties per weapon. (+ 1 on-hit or one +X verses type) So making them yourself, in game, using the Winter Forge is the only way that you'd be able to get them with the specs that you're wanting. Edit- Here's a link to a decent tutorial site on how to start out with the toolset ;) http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Tutorials
  16. Yes, this would constitute an illegal port. Not only because Bethesda has stated that they do not want content that was not originally included in Both game's BSA files to be moved from one to the other, but also because the DLC's are "pay to play" materials in their own right. I'm sorry but let's please not discuss this on the open forums. [/thread] -DarkeWolf, Nexus Staff
  17. Ha ha! Glad to hear that you got it worked out :) And definitely glad to hear of a renewed interest in the game!! Very welcome, glad that I could help out :)
  18. Hoof- you can also buy external usb cases that you can mount the drive in, and then have a portable drive that you can take with you. It just plugs in via any USB jack.
  19. Well, when you installed the mod that added the textures for those eyes, it should have been in the chargenmorph file that came with the mod. And then you would have needed to update the chargen file when you installed that mod. Not really sure, so I am just guessing. But I would guess that you'd enter the filenames in the same way as you would for a tint file. But again, I'm just guessing. No worries about the x2 post, The site's been laggy today. I removed it for ya ;)
  20. Cool, best of luck my friend :) Hopefully he be able to help :)
  21. Heyas Edriano :) Darn :( Well, you might take a look at this thread- http://www.thenexusforums.com/index.php?/topic/405320-lods-and-overrides/ and ask this guy who posted there. If it is just for personal use.... meaning that he does it only for you, and doesn't post the mod available to the public without the author's permission then it would be ok for him to set it up for a second set of textures. He just wouldnt be able to post them on here, if he didnt have permission. He'd need to get them to you via email or something like that. Or heck, maybe you could see if he would ask to help the author of this mod out, with the problem with the LOD.
  22. Heyas Drauger :) Welcome to the nexus :) Sorry that I'm coming in on this one really late. :( Unfortunately.... no. Simply changing the morph that they use, will not work. It will result in a head the wrong size, being on the wrong body. In the example of Alistair... you would end up with a male body and a female head. Which does end up looking very strange. What you would need to do is download and install the dragon age toolset (ts) and then click on the creatures button and do a search for the character that you are wanting to change. I find that it's a lot easier to work with an exported file of these guys, so once I find their .utc file, I right click it and then choose export without dependancies. I then open the exported file up in the toolset. (Now please keep in mind that I'm typing this from memory) Once the exported file is open you scroll down the list til you get to the area that has their appearance. There is a listing there for their gender. The value will be either 1 or 2. If the value is 1, you change it to a 2 or vice versa. You then save the file, and drop it into your override folder in documents/bioware/dragon age/packages/core/override. Now, you will need to create or have, a morph for the gender that you changed them to. So you would need a female face morph for Al. Rename that to hm_genfl_Alistair, em_genfl_Zevran, or whichever character, and then drop that into your override folder as well. That will make it so that he uses a female face, regardless of the "hm" "em" "dm" name prefix. NOTE- That the game is not smart enough to automatically update a character that has ALREADY been spawned. So if you've already met the character, you will see the wrong body and wrong head. There's two ways to fix this. If it is a relatively new savegame, you can go in and edit the appearance of the character in the savegame information. This means opening up "charactername" savegame.das (NOT .das.met) scrolling waaaaay down to your party member's appearaces, and changing that 1 and 2. Then saving the file from the TS. OR, you have that party member selected as the active party, and use a console script while you are in the game itself. http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Console_(Origins) So if it was Alistair, which is a human you'd want to run something like runscript appearance 2 to change his body to an elf. Then runscript appearance 15 to change him back to a human. Then if the body changes back to what it should be, you save the game. Vice versa if it was Zev who is an elf. Change him to human, and then back to an elf. The code for dwarf is runscript appearance 3. But starting off a brand new character/game they will show up exactly as you have set them up to look. Or if they have not yet showed up in the game that you're playing, they will also be fine. Its just the characters that you have already met. Because your savegame has their information in the way they were before the changes. NOTE 2- There is height differences between males and females. This WILL show up in cutscenes. Making some of the camera angles seem out of place, the characters looking too high or too low, stuff like that. Aside from completely recreating the cutscenes, there's really not anything that you can do about it. NOTE 3- Voices. Their voices will not change because of this. Unless you want to go through and manually create a female voice, for EVERY one of this character's voice files, my recommendation is to just leave that part alone. Too much work. :whistling: Because not all of the female characters have the same lines, and won't work. Hope this helps, and if you need more help, don't hesitate to ask :) -DW Edit- here's a couple of shots, to show that it can actually be done ;) http://www.dragonagenexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=4933 http://www.dragonagenexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=6771
  23. Yeah, glad to hear that you got it resolved. And that you posted the solution. Thanks for that, we'll keep it in mind if we see users with similar problems  Kudos given for sharing the solution :) I had similar problems with Extra Dog Slot. I had to refresh my party completely, by removing pretty much everybody in it and reforming the party. Not easy to do in some areas, but I used the Party Picker from the metagame items mod to do the job. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13
  24. Heyas Lancer :) Cool deal, really glad to hear that you've got your new character looking the way that you want him/her to  And glad to have been able to give some input that was helpful in that endeavor :) The toolset.... yeah.... there's a reason why it's got the nickname of the "the Toolsh** " or "toolcrap" :( I've found that most of my savegames from about the beginning to the middle are ok, but after that, it's just a no-go
