  1. And there I was, reading the title and thinking the thread would be about modding new rocks (boulders) in the game... :whistling:
  2. If you chat up some people, they get to know you, and like you. People who like you will let you take some things. If it doesn't show up in red and say "steal", you're free to take it if you want. Aren't friends great?
  3. Maybe you're talking about Interior and Dungeon Fog Remover?
  4. Have you tried talking to the person again? I explored a lot, and killed/looted a lot just to play around. When I was asked to retrieve so-and-so, which I had already found, sometimes I'd have a dialog option like "You mean THIS so-and-so?". Sometimes I just had to leave the conversation and come back and I could then say "I killed/found so-and so." and all is well and good.
  5. I bought the game on a Friday...next thing I knew the wife asked if I was going to go to work or not. WTF happend to Saturday and Sunday??
  6. Look for enbseries.ini in your Skyrim install folder (where tesv.exe is located). I'm using the v0.103 ENB Series injector, and created a enbseries_user.ini file to tweak various ENB settings, so I don't have to mess with the original enbseries.ini. In any case, look for the [Environment] section. Here's what mine is at the moment: I'm also using a enbpalette.bmp that is an optional way to help with the brightness curve, so my user.ini settings might not work well for you, but now you know what to tweak on you system. I believe pre-103, you can hit the <backspace> key to re-load the enb settings after you alt-tab out of the game to change ENB values. With v0.103 it reloads automatically after alt-tabbing back into the game.
  7. If you're using the ENB Series stuff (which I believe the Enhanced Shaders mod uses), try Shift-F12 to toggle the ENB shaders on/off to get you through the dark spots. Then, you can edit the config file and adjust the ambient lighting (night and/or day) to bump up the brightness a bit while the mod is active. By the way, I'm level 45 and both candlelight and magelight spells only work for about a minute anyways...I think that's all you get. If you have magelight, you can shoot it off down a tunnel or across a room and see if any baddies are around; then you can prepare for battle.
  8. Try changing GrassStartFadeDistance. Bigger numbers draw grass farther out.
  9. I only posted my opinion, ONCE. You make it sound like I spammed your thread... Lighten up. People don't care to read or honor or understand that not only is this a spoiler-free forum, but even when someone posted a topic like "Random Tips - NO SPOILERS PLEASE", it didn't take long for people to start telling how to finish quests. /hijack friendly SQSA thread and moving on...
  10. The only trouble I see with these well-intentioned threads is that they invariably turn into threads full of spoilers. Someone will ask "how do I get past mega-baddie to get the ultra-weapon?", or "where do I go to get to the next phase of multi-step quest?". And from there it spins out of control and its usefulness as a help thread is over.
  11. Your link is broken. Try this one: Awesome vid by the way.
  12. You can use the same keyboard, but can tell Windows to use a different layout which will assign different characters to the keys. I haven't done it myself, but you should be able to find instructions by searching the web. Try typing "change keyboard layout" in your favorite search engine.
  13. I stored my Ghostblade Sword in a weapon rack in my home at Markarth, but it wouldn't fully seat in the clip - only holding by the tip. Every time I came back to my house after adventuring, the sword had moved up a foot or so, until it was completely through the ceiling. I had to use the console to add it back into my inventory and this time it got stored on the rack correctly and has remained there ever since.
  14. It sounds like your non-english keyboard does not have a key with the letter " i " mapped on it. I'm not sure how to fix that, unless you change your keyboard map inside Windows.
  15. And because we didn't want to spoil your fun (in a non-spoilers forum) and deny you discovering things on your own...isn't that why people play fantasy adventure games? Besides, someone did answer your question and tell you how...
  16. If you're playing a stealthy character (mine's a stealthy archer with 100 skill in each), if you find a room full of baddies but don't have the power or skills to one-shot them all, but have patience, try to kill the first one you attack and run away to another room. If you get far enough and have time, set a rune if you have the skill and fall back a bit more. Usually only one or two will follow you that far away. They hit the rune, then you hit them until they die. Go back to the room, aggro another and lure him away to kill him. Rinse and repeat until the room is clear. Only fools rush into a room full of baddies unless they're totally badass and have an talent for dealing mass death and mayhem.
  17. When I'm in the decorating mood, after I place an item (like that cool enchanged bow I'm not going to use for a while), I drop another item and then pick it up again. Dropping an item seems to "lock" the last placed item into its place. Do a quicksave (F5 on PC) and then a quickload (F9 on PC) to see if it worked - no need to leave the house and go back in.
  18. I'd just be happy to be able to look around while moving without having to turn my whole body to do it.
  19. Wow, waited a whole 9 hours before bumping your own thread? Not exactly a game-breaking problem, is it? Perhaps someone will answer the question eventually... and perhaps it will turn out to be a bug in the mod...
  20. Perhaps one quest-coding crew used the round(down) function in a block of code and one of your quests counts as less than 1.
  21. The Nexus Mod Manager app makes it very easy to add/remove mods, and it will track versions so you can update them if a new version of the mod is available.
