I been playing a thief character on master difficulty without abusing save and load to avoid getting caught. I've now played over 60+ hours with this character, completed thieves and assassin guild quests and have never gone to jail. Each time I'm caught pickpocketing the guards only demand a measly 25 gold payment, which I happily pay, as I have more gold than I know what to do with, before carrying on stealing. I'd like a mod that has higher punishments for being caught, especially for repeat offenders. I want going to jail to be an actual preferable punishment sometimes, or even not have a choice if the bounty is high enough or caught enough times.

I don't think its the noise they make, I think it's the act of attacking which causes you to fail the stealth check. With sneak 100 I have no difficulties on master difficulty no matter how loud they scream I am never spotted by others in the room. I do agree though, they should not scream when you slit throats, it's just unrealistic.

Should i join the imperial legion or stormcloaks?
rawr22 replied to TheMysteriousTraveler's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The game doesn't seem to check if those quests are complete for conversation options, so I fear joining a side will not cause people to stop talking about it as you wish. In my second character this was one of the first quest lines I did. Got those evil stormcloaks out of the way nice and early, but I still walk past people in Riften for example talking to each other saying they are worried about the Imperials invading, even though the war is long over and there's and Imperial soldier standing right next to them. I am also still able to ask people who's side their on, and they often talk of what they think of Ulfric's intentions even though he's long dead. -
Thanks for the reply. I tried waiting in a corner to no effect, as well as dropping my entire inventory before going in. I managed to sneak in, talk to the leader and join but ran into the problem again when I try to deliver the shield. I've narrowed the problem down to Tovar and Athis. Everyone else is fine with me but if ether of these two see me they draw swords and attack, causing all the previously peaceful NPCs to join in on their side. I suppose I could try turn off their AI to get by, but that's far from ideal and I don't know if they're essential for later quests. I will play around with changing their faction and hope that doesn't screw things up later on. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Starting to regret not putting more perks into Enchanting :(

I just enchant a bow or dagger with 1 second soul trap to fill my gems. With a grand soul for me it has over 2000 uses before it needs to be recharged, so I just use it for killing everything and all my soul gems are always full. -
I've completed the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests and want to start the Companion quest line but every time I enter Jorrvaskr for the first time it starts the fist fight cut scene only to have everyone draw swards and attack me. I have never spoken to or attacked the companions before, I have no bounty in Whiterun, and I'm entering during the day with no weapons drawn. I've tried yielding, it makes no difference. Anyone have any idea why this is or how to change it?

I just thought they'd be more efficient at cooking me meals. Not cooking me.

I have to ask... does this work on any dragons?

It happens from time to time with all games on Steam. The server is down, unreachable, or too busy maybe. It usually sorts itself out within a couple of minutes.

New character: with most useless skills (poll inside)
rawr22 replied to eggplantObelisk's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I just had to double check I was reading the Skyrim forum and not the Oblivion forum. ARE YOU SERIOUS!? Dual fireball can AoE 1 hit 90% of enemys in this game with reasonable destruction skill and perma-sagger those it can't. Its the most OP skill there is, just before conjuration. It's Oblivion that magic was useless in. Having only played mage I can't comment on the other two classes, but I've levelled Illusion to 80, it's pretty pointless, and Alteration is even less use. -
60ish getting to level 42 in 4 days.

So I finally got enchanting 100. I've been playing mage so far and have mostly been holding off on my enchanting my own armor sets until I can do the best stuff. I mostly use dual wielded expert destruction spells (which I thought were OP themselves as they have 100% chance to knock back every single time) so I enchanted 4 items with destruction magika cost reduction without realising this added up to a total of 104% total reduction. So now my OP 90+90+overcharge bonus damage spells with 100% chance to knock back even the hardest bosses cost no manner, and I can spam and kill blood dragons in seconds before they even land, it makes little difference with the difficulty slider slid up all the way. If it wasn't enough that I can also place a second enchant on each item, I have now no reason to stick to robes, these enchants can be put on the heaviest armor with no penalty. It seems designed for people who don't know what their doing levelling-wise. This has completely killed the game for me, there is no more challenge. I cant really bring myself to not use the skills I've spent so long levelling to make it harder, as that kind of defeats the point of the game, and was really looking forward to starting a new class, but don't know if I can be bothered if it'll only be fun later on if I don't try very hard. Anyone else having issues with playing a highly specialised character? Don't get me wrong I'm not saying its a bad game overall, it's still been the best RPG experience ever up until this point.
-
I'm actually having the opposite problem playing as a highly specialised destruction mage. 90% of the enemy's I come across I can 1 hit with dual fireball, and that's not even my highest damage spell. Having no armour high level npcs can kill me in 3-4 hits. Sliding it up to expert I can 1-2 hit most things, and they can 1-2 hit me. It's actually not that fun at all. 1 arrow in the back from something hiding in the corner that you haven't noticed and it's time to reload.

You can't export a container item list to a text file or such? Shame.

Should mark the character as essential so when they run out of HP they just crouch for a while before recovering. Not tested it myself though.

A mod would be good for immersion, but in the mean time 'setessential (charID) 1' in console should work,

I'm a hoarder. I have to collect every armor set, as are many others. I'm bored of my class play style now but the Skyrim perk system makes it impossible to switch play styles later in the game. I'd love to start a new character but can't bare the thought of having to start collecting everything from scratch again. It would be awesome to be able to go into a player owned house and have everything thing still there from the original character that bought the house. Any other method of transferring inventory from one save to another would be great too. I have no idea myself if this is possible, or how much work it would be.
