  1. I originally installed skyrim. I have since purchased the legendary edition. (Dawnguard, etc.) I tried installing it, but no change. I then uninstalled and reinstalled, and still no add ons. I get no clue from reading the files on the disc. What am I missing?
  2. If you play on a pc you can use console commands to convert a dozen or more npc characters into both followers and spouses. Jarls, such as Ulfric, have unique voices. Only vanilla voiced npcs are suitable for conversion. That limitation leaves out the most important characters, such as Cicero, but it still leaves plenty of options. Google or bing 'skyrim console" to get started. (Remember, they have to like you to marry you, so remember to do their quest, or otherwise alter your relationship rank, before adding them to your faction.)
  3. In response to post #28557029. Look, I'm just a slob user who hasn't a clue about modding, and doesn't mind paying for content. I like capitalism, and think creatve minds should be rewarded. However, the current donationsystem put's the cart before the horse. The donation request should come at the endorsement point. Some mods have crashed my system. Others offer nothing I can't o as well or better with the console. While others, like follower commentary overhaul, and Frost Fall are homeruns. Currently, you're asked to pick the reward before seeing the product. It's a bit like paying for the car before the test drive.
  4. Since my initial posting I have discovered two "good guy" tweaks under "Quests and Adventures" the mods "Boethiah for Good Guys" (which gives the ebony smithing perk, and "House of Horrors Alternate Ending" which allows you to free the priest from Molag Bal, and gives a non-artifact reward. I haven't been able to find the mod for joining the circle without becoming a werewolf. The "Grelod is a monster" mod requires dawnguard, which I don't have. Considering the number of mods which allow compassion for Paarthurnax, you would think there would be more that showed compassion for human beings. In the quest Whispering Door you must steal or kill. In the quest Only Cure you are sent to murder a priest. In another, the Namira quest, you must become a cannibal or fail the quest. I don't remember any previous Elder Scroll game that was anywhere near so depraved. I can understand not being able to join the thieves guild without becoming a thief, but shouldn't one be able to destroy the dark brotherhood without performing a murder?
  5. Thanks for the info on ESF and molag's quest for good guys. There's a Daedric "Proving" quest that rewards the successful contestant with the ebony smithing perk. The Dragborn always denies, falsely ,when apprehended by a guard.
  6. tweak dialogue to allow, an honest answer to a guard noncommittal responses regarding star-sung acknowledge merida's good intentions without pledging anything. tweak documents to suggest, shipments ready notice not marked "steal" Greolod-the-kind wants to fake her death, slap gently. (Perhaps Maven is upset because she refused Ingun permission to see the children. tweak quest lines to permit, joining the circle without drinking blood and becoming a werewolf (perhaps with Kodlak's blessing!) satisfy Molag's empty house quest without murdering the priest. healing instead of killing the afflicted (to the deadric prince's dismay!) acquiring the ebony smithing reward without, lying , cheating, stealing, murdering, etc.
  7. Sounds like a good idea, in both senses of the word. The majority of players seem to prefer lying, stealing and cheating. I don't, and would prefer a moral option,
  8. I agree. Too many pretty faces are featured that offer nothing else. They are all superhero, flame balling vixens, set as essential. Featured items should promote variety that is consistent with the original game play.
