  1. I tried searching and didn't find anything so I thought I'd just throw this out there... Thought a quest addon based somewhat on The Name of the Rose, movie, based on an Umberto Eco novel, could be really good. The abbey replicated in the movie would make a great dark oppressive atmosphere, if you've seen the movie you'll know what I mean. Obviously it would need changes to fit into Oblivion, for example a Spanish Inquisition would hardly be suited or relevant, but it could be a great base for something. Perhaps more along the lines of trying to find some powerful spellbook/spell in the twisted maze of a library. I suppose even a dungeon crawl would work but seems like a waste of such a great setting, perhaps located outside the bored to make it remote, maybe just beyond one of the the mountain ranges (if possible). A few screens to give some idea of the setting though watching it (or a lot more screens) would be needed to get the whole picture of it's atmosphere, with it's chapel, dungeons and labyrinth of a library, poor squatters outside the walls and more. Thought it could at least be inspiration for something great. http://www.yayimg.com/images/ltmuyt9mjhjyb43fxd7t_thumb.jpghttp://www.yayimg.com/images/q8xbm613kh6v3ia5taux_thumb.jpghttp://www.yayimg.com/images/wie465y39uo0x0m8xzp_thumb.jpghttp://www.yayimg.com/images/4hhmizd3gfn5aiwboh0_thumb.jpghttp://www.yayimg.com/images/ia5ohnbbbjauu6rv5ih_thumb.jpghttp://www.yayimg.com/images/0g9e7efuyvpw5qkp821_thumb.jpghttp://www.yayimg.com/images/qltuox0qiylk3q7hld_thumb.jpghttp://www.yayimg.com/images/9mmasvyw4lnji7g04bev_thumb.jpghttp://www.yayimg.com/images/potpjcip07khy6574xtu_thumb.jpghttp://www.yayimg.com/images/so33v3o05biqmounb8_thumb.jpg
  2. Personally I don't like sites dominated by flash, I'm not anti-Flash but it can be slow and make doing some things as the end user a pain like even simply saving an image or copying some text to paste elsewhere, opening links in new tabs/windows. Also, I don't know if it's still the case, but search engines don't do a great job searching through flash sites so you could be missing out of some traffic from search engine results unless you're taking measures to compensate. Disregarding the flash usage, the text isn't the easiest to read, I instinctively used select all to highlight it so it was easier to read. Hope you don't mind the criticism. The information there is still nice and useful.
  3. I'm still trying to get all the mods I like the looks of before giving Oblivion another go, and here's a few I've added that you might like too. To make the game look better you could have a look at these.. Qarl's Texture Pack 3 Improved Trees and Flora 1+2 Natural Environments Enhanced Water Distant Lands Illumination Within Revived Improved Signs Elven Map Redux Realistic Lava 1.3 One of the body mods to made the bodies look better and of course Oblivion Graphics Extender. For magic I'd check out Midas Magic Spells of Aurum. Though it's probably worth trying Deadly Reflex too. For the must have mods, I really like Dark UI, Toggleable Quantity Prompt Martigen's Monster Mod seems nice too. I'm sure there's a bunch more but can't think of them right now.
  4. I had quite a bit of trouble getting the godrays to work in OBGE (Oblivion Graphics Extender). Enabling it in the menu didn't seem to do anything which was a bit sad seeing how good it can look, turned out they were there but the settings just needed to be changed. Also saw some people showing pics of their's claiming they used custom settings but even when others asked what settings they used I haven't seen anyone be nice enough to answer. So I thought I'd start a thread were people can post their settings for godrays with a screenshot of the result, hopefully helping others with problems getting them to work (or just look good) and if enough people add their's it would be nice to be able to easily choose from a screenshot and then just use it's posted settings. I don't know enough to give a useful description of all the variables along with suggested settings/ranges but it would be nice if someone else could. Anyway after messing around I got mine looking like this, probably not the best but at least it's a start. Got tired of messing around with the settings in the ingame OBGE menu and took these shots in Bravil at sunset click for bigger images... http://i.imgur.com/EzQDk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/fUaos.jpg Fade Amount = 0.1 Morning Shafts = 1.0 Evening Shafts = 1.0 Density = 1.0 Decay = 0.99 Weight = 3.0 Luminescent = 0.44 FMiddleGray = 0.99 FFWhiteColour = 0.99 (Edited because old image host is gone)
