  2. looks really nice but a lot of those tree's don't seem to fit in a tropical environment. Maybe try making bamboo etc instead?
  3. I thought it might be a good idea to make a thread where people can post which mods still work with Dragonborn for them. So people can know whether or not to install the new DLC or wait a while for their favourite mods to update. Still downloading Dragonborn myself but if anyone has tested any old mods with Dragonborn, please post your results.. Personally, I am more interested to know if any of the old mods will break Vanilla/DawnGuard/HeartFire gameplay when DragonBorn is installed. Cheers!
  4. No DLC is ever worth what they ask for it.. Paying half the price of the full game just for about 5-10% of equivalent content.. it doesn't take a genius to work it out. And then making it exclusive for the sux box just so all the idiots run out and buy the next microsh*t console when its out. It wasn't anything to do with Skyrim, it was all about making people think that Microsh*t will always have the best games first on their future console. If I hadn't have had it bought for me for a Birthday present I would have told Bethesda where they could stick it.
  5. I am wondering if there is a mod that simply states what type of soul you have captured when you gain one. I can't understand why the devs didn't include this function not only in the other games but now Skyrim as well. Am also looking for a mod that displays useful information on your HUD like buffs/debuffs/timers and date/time etc if anyone knows of anything like this please let me know. There was a few for New Vegas so thought there would be one for Skyrim too but I have searched hard and can;t find anything. Would really appreciate a reply by anyone.. even if you don't know and just wanna add your thoughts! Many thanks..

I have 4 unread lockpicking books I have collected and I am lvl 97 in lockpicking but when I read the books I only get a skill point after reading the 4th.. it doesn't matter what order I read them in. I can read book 1 then 2, 3 then 4 and get a skill point on the 4th.. or in any other order like 4, 3, 1, 2 and so on but I only gain a skill point on the 4th book I read. Is this a bug or is it meant to take 4 books for 1 kill after lvl 90 or something? I have some mods that change books which are "Better Skill and Quest Book Names" and "Unread Books Glow". Both are on GEMS and seem to be compatible with each other so far.. I also have the Unofficial Skyrim Patch (Latest). Cheers..

  11. Hmm I will have to try a new game completely un-modded and see if any of these glitches still happen. Either way I will probably completely re-download Skyrim just to be safe. EDIT: Clicked on the tree stump in console mode and got the ref ID and looked for it in TES5Edit.. it was called "ChoppingBlockBloody" but nothing was modifying it. But it could be enchanced blood textures. I have also noticed snow on walls seems really low resolution but I can't remember if that is normal. My mod list is on the 1st page of this thread btw in case you see something. Cheers! Actually, now that you mention it, I don't think I've seen any vendor sell torches in my current game. So far I've only been to Riverwood, Whiterun, and Markarth. I just killed a ton of guards in Markarth....maybe 10 or so, and almost all of them had a torch on their corpse, so you are right there (but they won't always use the torches at night). I've never seen that weird texture in my game. I am also using USKP. Might be something else?
  12. Hey Ripple - Thanks for your suggestion.. its possible that I had a mod like that but don't remember it. Its also possible that vanilla Skyrim dropped a lot more torches in the early release versions and they somehow got nerfed with a patch. But vendors should definitely sell torches whether its modded or vanilla right? I have been to every vendor in every major city and a lot of towns and haven't seen them sell one torch. Plus I am pretty sure guards are supposed to drop them in vanilla quite commonly. Haven't found one.. Also just thought I would mention that my Skyrim files are 100% freshly downloaded since I last played. But is it possible they are corrupt? I have seen a lot of other little problems like this : http://tinypic.com/r/1zbyy43/6 But I assumed that was because of the unofficial patch.. Thanks Jodi - I have looked at that but does it work with Wearable Lanterns? I only seen the compatibility patch for Wieldable Lanterns. Cheers
  13. Mshoap - I just had another look for those 2 and they are there but there are no conflicts or any form of alteration from a mod. So I am not sure what to try next! :( ghostrecon - I knew about player.additem but I hate cheating but more so just want to fix this out of principle. Nothin worse than playing a game like Skyrim while knowing there is a bug you can't figure out, because you always feel like there could be more you don't even know about yet and you could be missing something cool like an epic item thats supposed to drop but doesn't etc. Thanks though! ripple - That looks awesome and will definitely try that ASAP but I still wanna fix this torch thing as its bothering me hehe. I have managed to find 2 torches from chests since I last posted though.. but That was about 7 levels ago so I still think its messed up and there isn't a single vendor anywhere who sells them and I clearly remember vendors stocking them randomly the last time I played. The two I found were in Riften Barracks and in a cave for some quest I was doing.. so maybe those two were scripted to spawn and the problem is just with random spawns maybe..? Cheers!

Bjornheim - I appreciate your post but as I said earlier, people don't seem to drop them. Have killed quite a few Thalmor because I despise them and also some Imperial guards and town guards just to test and didn't get a single torch.. so something is wrong. Rabbit - Yeah apparently some torches you find don't expire but most do.. you were probably lucky enough to find one of the unlimited ones! There is some info about this on the wiki : http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Torch_%28Skyrim%29 So I went and found a Mine and sure enough there were about 24 torches on the sconces and looted every last one hehe.. but I still think something is wrong if they aren't dropping in any containers or people.. I am level 19 now so I think we can rule out it being just bad luck. Is it possible that the game files are corrupt even though I have verified game cache? Should I just delete all the BSA files and re-download everything? Will have a shot at the TES5Edit first though.. but any further suggestions are appreciated! EDIT: Found out Realistic Lighting is modifying lighttorch01 and took a pic for you.. http://i45.tinypic.com/dz620.jpg Not sure if its the problem but have disabled it anyway and am gunna go play for a while to see if the torches start to drop properly. I doubt it is the problem because its such a popular mod and can't find any other complaints about this. Couldn't find anything similar to LightmTorch05 Will return when I have tested.. Cheers!
  15. Ok well I added some torches via the console and I can equip them, drop them on the floor and add them to a container and they act normal. They just don't seem to spawn/drop naturally like they are supposed to.. Anyone know how I can find the cause of the problem? For New Vegas I used a tool which showed what mods are changing a specific item or quest/ character. Does TES5Edit do the same? Cheers
  16. Well I found one in Riverwood at the very beginning of the game.. think it was in the Barrow whatever its called.. But not a single torch since.. even when killing a guard etc. None in the shops either. Active Mod Files: I can't see anything there that could affect torch drops myself but maybe you can.. Cheers!
  17. I am not sure if this is a mod problem or a Skyrim patch problem but this is my second play through and I am level 15 but have only managed to find ONE single torch.. When I first played back when the game was v1.0 I remember torches spawning in barrels, chests, bodies.. shops etc and I had more than enough always. The only mods I can think that could affect the torches in this way are the unofficial patch + DLC sub-patches, but there doesn't seem to be any complaints about this on the mod thread and nothing in the mod change notes seem to suggest doing anything like that with torches so I don't know if it is a Skyrim problem or what.. The rest of my mods don't touch items as they are all texture/lighting/UI mods and Convenient Horses, Quality World Map. Please tell me this isn't normal... its annoying the hell out of me as I have the Realistic Lighting mod so everything is much darker and casting a light spell every 60 secs as a warrior class is ridiculous. Plus I don't like it. Please advise.. and if nobody knows then I would appreciate if someone can tell me how to use TES5Edit to find out which mod is messing with torches.. I know vaguely how to do it for FO:NV.. Cheers

Ok so I think I have narrowed the problem down to the mod called Command Horse which has been removed from the nexus >.< here was the old link http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5774 It was called Command Horse - Alteration Spells. I basically loaded every save from my first up until my 18th and the 19th crashes to desktop.. the only differences are I installed Command Horse and another mod called BookOfConsole after 18 saves. So 19 onwards seem to be corrupt and I highly doubt that its the Book of Console as all that did was add in a new item (book) filled with all console commands. So without an updated version of command horse or even the name of the mod maker, I am totally stuck. But atleast I have found the problem (Hopefully..) Could just be a coincidence. I am not sure where to go from here in order to retrieve my save file but hopefully one of you guys will know what, if anything I can do next.. I have heard there is a way to surgically remove mod data from a save file somehow.. does anyone know about this? Also I noticed that I downloaded a file called Skyrim universal 4gb memory patch around the same date I made my 19th save so could the 4gb patch have caused my save to become corrupt? Cheers!
  19. Thanks for the tip.. I don't need it on my new rig so I will avoid it. I did try loading the game with and without acceleration layer though. Update about my problem.. I have reverted back to my original Skyrim DIR and updated SKSE and ScriptDragon but the game still crashes when loading my most recent save :( I seem to remember being able to load that save without updating mods not long ago so maybe something in the last patch has messed things up. I may or may not have had Skyboost active when my last save worked.. not sure because the acceleration layor is not compatible so maybe I tried Skyboost first and the Acceleration Layer after.. I am out of ideas to get this save working again.. I really don't want to have to restart the game as I had 162 hours clocked up on that save so I won't enjoy any of it if I have to restart >.< It will all be too familiar. Can someone atleast rule out some of these mods being the cause? I doubt the setessential mods can cause it for instance.. and the gold coin texture. Better still, does anyone know if any of the mods above are known to cause CTDs when disabled/uninstalled? Cheers.. hope someone can help.

I have found the new versions but some are now obsolete, some are renamed and some have been combined etc.. Or maybe some of them can't be updated and have done irreversible damage like Realistic Water Textures? Could it be the updated version of Skyrim itself not working with my save / old mod data which is dormant in the save..? Also, both Dawnguard and Hearthfire are highlighted in red in wrye bash.. is this normal? Any help would be appreciated.. oh and FYI I can start a new game and it seems to run fine with/without the updated mods.. But I really want to continue from my old save. Cheers!
  21. Thanks for your help buddy.. I will try to salvage my savegame nevertheless.. I got quite far in and collected a lot of good stuff so I am reluctant to restart just to fix some water issues.. but I may do so if the unofficial patches need it.. not even heard of STEP or GEMS to be honest. I will have to do some research.. But do you think its better to let steam workshop handle mods from now on or is there a better way? Also, is SkyUI still used or is that something else now? Hmm I also had a mod that changed the gold coin texture but that doesn't seem to be in my load list either.. probably a few that aren't. Is SKSE still needed / used for any mods? Thanks a lot.. I appreciate the info and advice as its quite overwhelming coming back to a heavily modded game after such a long time.. especially when there have been many patches since! :( Cheers
  22. Hi guys, I haven't played Skyrim since it first came out.. like what a year ago?? Anyway I installed a dozen or so mods back then and now I am wondering how and if I should bother updating them or get them from the steam workshop or what.. (The worksop wasn't yet out when I played last). I have SKSE and a couple of plugins in there I don't know what they are anymore.. I also don't know which mods have become obsolete now because Skyrim was still being patched when I installed these and I am pretty sure some of the mods were just to fix stuff that Bethesda hadn't done yet. I see NMM still doesn't have a export feature >.< so here is a screen capture of the mod list I have. And these are the 3 files I have in my SKSE plugins folder; CFM_extensions skyui_extensions TESVAL Also have some files / folders in Interface like SkyUI which I know was a UI overhaul mod but how do I go about removing all this stuff? Would greatly appreciate any advice and info about all this mess.. so I can start playing again from where I left off. Many thanks for your time :)
  23. I am just wondering if I should uninstall SD and play on or will it corrupt my save game if I do that and then re enable SD when its updated?I only have a couple of mods that depend on SD.. the horse commands one and autolooter.. oh and skyboost.
  24. So the SKSE for the last beta patch 1.4.21.0 works with the final release too? I will check.. Also I think I may have backed up my 1.3 file when I used a 4gb patch.. (before I found out it wasn't needed after 1.3) Cheers SKSE has been updated for most of the day. Can't speak for SD, don't use it. Rolling back is only possible if you backed up your 1.3.10 tesv.exe. If you didn't, well, start making backups of your executables and next time you can roll back! :thumbsup:
