  1. Ok, I run Oblivion on both my computers, which are both running windows 7, and it does take a little tweaking. First off, there's no special windows 7 patch, so don't bother looking. The main thing you need to do is the following: 1. rightclick oblivion.exe and click properties 2. click the compatibility tab 3. at the bottom, check the box next to Run this program as an administrator 4. click Apply and click Ok Now, do this again, but replace Oblivion.exe with OblivionLauncher.exe. And, do it once more, but this time replace Oblivion.exe with OblivionModManager.exe This will for sure get rid of the message from omod saying you are a limited user. I don't know if it will take care of the white weapons though. My friend, when he first got Oblivion, had issues with white weapons. It was on windows XP, but still it might work for you. Make sure that you have the patch 1.2.416. For some reason, he didn't have that patch installed, and not only did it make his weapons white, but a lot of mods didn't work for him. Then I told him to patch his game with the official patch off Bethesda's site, and everything worked great after that!
  2. You could always opt for some new staff animations. Here's a couple: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16900 http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=33376 Or, what is going on, is that the animation files are still in your Oblivion data folder. Open up your Oblivion folder and look for files like these: Data\meshes\characters\_male\staffattackright.kf Data\meshes\characters\_male\staffbackward.kf so on and so forth... These .kf files are animation files, and Oblivion is looking to them to see how your character should "animate" when you use a staff. If you delete these, oblivion should look back to the vanilla animation files, which are stored safely in the meshes.bsa, so you don't have to worry about deleting them, because if you delete meshes.bsa, you will have much bigger problems than your character thinking his/her staff is a gun. Make sure you only delete the staff files, and makes sure you only delete .kf files. That should do the trick :)
  3. Looks like the only way is through using the console. First open up the CS and figure out the formID of the enchantment you got stuck on yourself. Then load up Oblivion, load your save, and press ~ (the button to the left of 1) to open the console. With the console open, click your character, then type dispel aaaaa where aaaaa is the formID of the enchantment that you found in the CS. That should take care of it :)
  4. By ac you mean armor rating? I don't know if there's a console code for that, but you might want to check and see if you have any constant effect shield spells on you. You might want to check for a Grand Ring of Aegis I think, because that has Shield 12%, which would be giving you and armor rating of 12. Or, your race or something else might just be giving you a 12% constant effect shield. Might be worth checking out. And here's a command to play with your armor rating: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Console_Command_Tutorial Just search for DefendBonus. I'm not sure how to use it, but the webpage should give good instructions :)
  5. I have had this issue before as well. My problem, I do believe, was as follows. Oblivion worked great for me, up until I decided to enable HDR lighting. It wouldn't work, not for anything. Everytime I enabled it, it would still be disabled the next time I booted up Oblivion. Finally, Oblivion said "enough!" (or something like that) and I started encountering the problem you have. I uninstalled Oblivion, and erased all traces of it from my system (saves and all, though I backed them up ofcourse). Also, after I reinstalled, I entered into my nvidia control panel (as I have dual 8800 gt's) and I disable all the antialiasing for Oblivion, seen as Oblivion doesn't seem to like HDR and antialiasing together. After that, everything seems to work great, with HDR enabled and everything. I don't know if this is the same as what happened to you, but this whole reinstalling thing does seem worth a shot!
  6. Oh man, I just thought I'd comment again. Umm, I really hope this works, but I'm not sure if it will. Everything looks good, until you download it and realize it's a bunch of readme's. I'm sorry to get your hopes up, but I'll keep looking for you. This is kinda crazy. In the meantime here's another drow race that looks pretty intense. Worth a try! http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19753
  7. Read second comment first, don't get hopes up. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20346 There ya go. It's not the original, but, it is a combination of hair and races, that includes non-other than the Drow races of Faerun. I'm pretty sure this is what you are looking for, because the uploader of the mod credits the original author of the drow races, Kielanai. I don't claim to be and expert, but this should contain all the files, and the mods that require it should be able to run assuming you're using this mod. I don't know if you're after the race, or if you're after the mods that require it, but either way, I hope this helps :)
  8. Do you mean that you can't fast travel from within a city? I never really had that problem, but maybe I'm misunderstanding your dilemma. But that wont stop me from trying to help! Maybe try open better cities. All the flair of better cities, but it's all open. Really cool mod, and if your compy can handle better cities, then it should be able to handle this :) Link: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17084
  9. I know that this mod is included in the Unique Landscapes Compilation, an omod with (i think) all of the UL mods in it. Try downloading that, and installing it. If you only want Brena River Ravine, you can just install that one, but it might be worth throwing all of them in, because it's such a great mod. Plus, it's an omod, so you don't have to worry about putting files in the wrong spot. :) Link: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19370
  10. That would freak me out. Stupid invisible monsters. I've had this problem too. For me, it was a mod load order conflict. Make sure your mods are loading in the proper order. You can do this with such great tools out there as BOSS or OBMM.
  11. Argh, I keep thinking about this one too. Maybe it's one of your mods doing this. What mods/plugins are you using right now?
  12. I guess the first mod that comes to my mind is Cobl, I don't know if you had that installed at all though. One thing you could try. I don't know how many mods you have, but if it's not a lot, you could redownload them, and then follow this guide: http://www.tesnexus.com/articles/article.php?id=340 This guide will help you get Oblivion back to it's original state without reinstalling it. Then, you can see if your forks and such are still textureless. If they're fixed, then just reinstall your mods. If they aren't, then well, we can go from there! It's worth a shot :)
  13. Actually, they don't have the same attack speed. Here's a good artichle for seeing the difference: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Dagger#Daggers The differences are as follows: Weight Dagger < Shortswords Health Dagger < Shortswords Worth Dagger < Shortswords Reach Dagger < Shortswords Damage Dagger < Shortswords Speed Dagger > Shortswords Hope that answers your question :)
  14. Or you could go fight some vampires, and hope they are a dagger wielding class, or look for marauder or bandit archers. When I'm looking for good equipment, my main hit up spots are (usually) Fort Strand for marauders, Fort Carmala for vampires, and Sinkhole Cave for bandits. Strand is just east of Anvil, Carmala is south of Chorrol, near Hackdirt, and Sinkhole is just north of the IC. Assuming you're playing vanilla oblivion, always head for Marauders to get blades and heavy armor, and bandits to get blunt and light armor, although, I think in the case of daggers, you can get them off either bandit or marauder archers. Vampires go either way, so you can fetch whatever off them as well.
  15. Ok, so I need a mesh for a naked mole rat. I attempted to edit the rat mesh myself, but to no avail. If anyone would be interested in altering the rat mesh, or making a new one to look like a naked mole rat, that would be great. I need this for a companion mod I'm attempting to make, so it would be great if there were animations to go with it. That's why I attempted to use the rat mesh, because then it could use the rat skeleton and all would be well. This is for a request mod from 78stonewobble, for a partner of a naked mole rat. I would be willing to texture the mesh and do the rest, but if anyone wants to take this project over completely, feel free. So, just a quick recap. A naked mole rat mesh with animations, and I'll texture it and the rest, or just take over the project completely. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Alright everyone, thanks for the replies, and interest! The final verdict is in! It was a tough call, but I'm going with Ma'iq! (Ma'iq the Liar full name). I was torn between this, and Jerrall, Master of Scheduling! I'd post a pic, but I'm not sure how to without the whole issue of it being a non-game related pic. But he (yep, turned out male) is a black kitty with a little white spot on his chest, such a cute little thing. Thanks again all, and Darkninja13, I shall be kudoing you as soon as I post this!
  17. Yes, as sad as it is, the Imperial Dragon Armor is not leveled. However, there are plenty of different mods out there that change the armor and make it better, just search tesnexus for "imperial dragon" without the quotes, and you'll get more mods than you can shake a stick at (well, not really, 3 pages worth at this point in time). And if you don't like those, you can always open up the CS and "fix" the armor yourself :)
  18. I only have one: 1. When you finally get your first self made mod to work :) Actually I have more, but I can't come up with them off the top of my head right now. Will probably return when I think of them.
  19. Do you have an untextured mace with the omod version? If the mace is untextured, these two files are in the wrong spot. Oblivion\Data\Textures\Weapons\albonaut\daedricSteel.dds Oblivion\Data\Textures\Weapons\albonaut\daedricSteel_n.dds Make sure they are there. If they are and it's still not working, then there's probably a problem with where the mesh is looking for the texture. Sorry it's been such a rough ride getting this mod to work :wallbash:
  20. Which install type are you using? If it's manual, there should be four files installed, and this is where they should be: Oblivion\Data\Meshes\Weapons\albonaut\steelDaedricMace.nif Oblivion\Data\Textures\Weapons\albonaut\daedricSteel.dds Oblivion\Data\Textures\Weapons\albonaut\daedricSteel_n.dds Oblivion\Data\daedricSteelMace.esp You can browse through those folder directories and make sure that the files copied into the correct places. Also make sure to activate the file in the Oblivion Launcher. If you're using the omod version, just open the .omod file with obmm. Then click on the mod you just opened, and press the activate button. After that you should be ready to go. If it's still not working, what kind of problem are you having? Is it just not showing up in game? Or does it show up and when you equip it you see a giant yellow exclamation point? Or when you equip it is the shape right, but there's not texture? Let me know a little more and I might be able to help you a little better :)
  21. Alright, here we go. I hope you like, I retextured the steel mace to look like it's daedric, I also made it more powerful (a little bit stronger than a normal daedric mace). Here's the link: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34020 If you're not big on it that's cool. I had fun making it anyway. But, I hope you like! :)
  22. If you can't find a mod for this, you could probably make one. Have you used the construction set at all? If not, let me know, I could get a mod like this up for you by the end of the day! (i think) Actually, how soon I can get it up depends on how soon you reply really, but, let me know, maybe someone will come up with the name of the mod too.
  23. Alright, I'll give it a shot. I'll see what I can do, and if you like, you can download, if not, then you don't need to download. I'll post a link as soon as I get the mod up and going. :)
  24. What do you mean on #3 that you have a quest in mind and whatnot but you want to share it with people without getting sued? Does this quest require a specific DLC or something, or what makes you feel Betheseda will want to sue you for sharing it?
  25. You have the order right, though you could switch around 1 and 2. Also be sure to install OBSE in there somewhere, depending on if any of your mods require it or not.
