  1. Arh no, its not an Imperial guy it's from Elenwen. Here is the note on the Dead Thalmor agent.. Thalmor Orders
  2. In the beginning, it's really difficult though. When role-playing, do you fight your way out killing Stormcloaks? I go both routes half the time. But later in the game I usually just avoid joining either side. But you make a good point, that defeating the Thalmor ought to be the main goal. Killing fellow Nords seems like the wrong enemy. It plays right into the Thalmor plans. So my question is why do the Stormcloaks kill their own countrymen? Does anyone know if it was the Imperials who were punishing Talos worshippers in any cases? I thought it was the Thalmor actually doing it. I've come across the one scene with dead Nords at a Talos shrine with a dead Thalmor. Did the killing of each other start with Ulfric? I have only made two real characters so far but I agree with you on the roleplay at the begining! It seems bonkers to go with the Imperial guy after he gave the go ahead for you to have your head cut off, so I always go with the Stormcloak guy first of all (I like slaying that bossy Imperial woman as well  ) After seeing the larger picture and learning more about Ulfric and the war, I then roleplayed that my character sees the need for the war to end and sides with the Imperials for the greater good of Skyrim. She always remains sympathetic to some people who back the Stormcloaks though.(for instance I rescued that guy from the Thalmor tower) as she blames Ulfric entirely for brainwashing the Nords for his own agenda. On the killing of the Talos worshippers, I came across a similar scene to you quite near the starting area. I seem to recall a note on the Thalmor where an Imperial Officer was trying to deny that the shrine existed and was trying to put the guy off? Is that the same one? I will try and look it up.
  3. Imperials 100% I think the Stormcloaks case is quite weak, I mean apart from the Talos thing what is there problem? Once a united Empire wins the war against the Thalmor then they can tear up the White Gold Concordat and then everything will be back to normal. I can't even mention my opinion of Ulfric else I might get a strike for bad language! :P
  4. I completely agree with this, you sum up my thoughts very nicely here. In short "Good, but needs more Fluff!" I also rate Skyrim 7/10
  5. @ OP I am enjoying Skyrim but I did not find it as addictive as Fallout and Oblivion. I think it lacks characters and the stories are rushed and some are implausible, (although to be fair I have only completed about 50% of the game so far.) I do think it is worth giving it another try though as I have found most of the enjoyment in the game stems from just exploring, roleplaying and all the random events that happen in game. So if you do decide to get into it again I would advise leaving the main questlines alone for a while and just do the little things that make this game good. Explore the world do some side quests, experiment with the new mods that are coming out and set a backround for your character, roleplay and just mess around really.
  6. Some good tips there, I especially like the book collection one as I have so many I can't keep track of them all. I didn't know followers could harvest the soul gems either 8)
  7. Yeah, I read this about J'zargo but having used him now for a good few quests I am going back to Marcurio as he seems really weak in comparison. I mean to the point that even with some heavy armour equiped he seems to go down in almost every encounter, even against a simple bear. I am not a high level though, mid twenties, but I wonder if he is bugged because the weakness is very evident. Just out of interest, have you used them both? If so did you notice Marcurio being stronger?
  8. The best follower I have used so far is Marcurio, he rarely gets beaten down and his magic attack is really powerful, he can take down a couple of mobs on his own easily. Stat wise J'zargo is suppose to be a better mage but in practice I have found this not to be the case. Macurio seems to be programmed better too, he follows you down ledges and mountains better and doesn't get lost as much. Also if you walk up to him he will often move back out of your way so he doesn't block you in narrow passages as much as others I have used.
  9. No, they didn't in Oblivion. Only in Morrowind. Not 100% but I am sure I remember some reaction in Oblivion, I don't think they mention that you are naked butr they act annoyed or shocked with you. Pretty sure I remember something like this. Does anyone know for certain?
  10. I am forever running out of my Breezehome nakid  After messing around with various outfits I usually forget I haven't put anything back on. @ Lehcar try walking over to Ulfberth War-Bear in Whiterun his comment is quite funny  (Its usually best if you just pass him in the street as don't know if he will say it while he is in the shop)
  11. Good tip will do this! [off topic] decorating is driving me mad! :wallbash: so hopefully this will stop my items flying around really hope they fix the physics so it is more like it was in Oblivions and Fallouts. [back on topic] Riften Dock area is a good place to catch dragonflies, there seems to be more at night!
  12. This is a great thread! there are so many things here that I didn't know that will be seriously useful or just fun tol try out! It would be really nice to have it pinned at the top of the forum for a while so people can keep adding to it. This is a bit lame compared to some on here but if you like decorating your house and want to have some flaming torches dotted around you can do this by the following method... equip torch > drop on ground > leave house > log out of game > log back in the auto save you just got from leaving the house > re enter house and they should be lit and ready to place where ever you like. :) Arh good point, also I try to save my skill books for as long as possible so that you get the benefit of the point at the higher level when it would usually take longer and be harder to achieve.
  13. I love this thread! They are all funny but the OP's and Egg Pants are hilarious  I was with J'zargo and we had just finished a dungeon when we found this little bandit cave, its a kind of open air one. So we got set upon by about 5 bandits. Took them out quite easily but there was one left who seemed to have crazy health and was taking several fireballs to knock down. In the end we got him down to very low health, but I was out of mana and J'zargo was out of mana, anyway J'zargo stopped casting, plodded over to the guy and just threw him one effortless punch that finished him off. It was like he thought "I'v had enough of this" *bam* It was very funny, but I think you had to have been there to fully appreciate it.
  14. Its a travesty! As is the first film of the newer three...whats it called... Grr the one with jaja binks or whatever. I can't watch it!
  15. I think they can get married? I did a quest for an Argonian who wanted to get married and needed a special ring. @ OP I would sooo love to see little Khajiit and Argonians running around :) I didn't even consider why they were not in the game until you said, but I really think they should be now!!!
