  1. So im using an i5-4690k and a gtx 970. When I eneterd whiterun I noticed an fps drop when I first entered the city. It was from 60 to about 50. This slowly went away as I ran up the hill. But, they're was an even bigger FPS drop when looking over whiterun from dragonsreach, dropping down to the 40's! Again, this returned to 60 once I started heading towards the city. I'm using skyrim HD lite (2K), and when I went to solsteim the fps did also drop to roughly when entering raven rock (once in the town, 60n as per usual). I'm using the 2k aMidianBorn solsteim landscape. This also applies to most city entrances. Solid 60 fps everywhere else. I get it, that I'm never gonna get 60fps EVERYWHERE, and frankly I dont really mind these fps drops, and I also get that its based on where your standing, from the postitions where there is an fps drop I'm always overlooking lots of stuff. But I just wanted to check, is this normal?
  2. Just a quick question: Is there any significant fps drop when using this mod. My specs are an i5-4690k 3.5ghz with a gtx 970 Also, overall, do you recommend this water mod (For reasons I wont go into, I cant use W.A.T.E.R)
  3. But, thats what I did. I let BDS overwrite SMIM and now I have no 3D ropes.
  4. After making MANY mistakes whilst modding skyrim, I decided to just start from scratch. Having uninstalled the game from steam, and deleting whats left in the Skyrim folder in steamapps. I have also uninstalled NMM and all its files. Do I need to take any further steps to make sure that skyrim is 100% vanilla? Thanks
  5. Both great mods, but I've ran into a problem. After installing SMIM then WATER and Better Dynamic Snow ONLY from the ruffled feather I run into Riverwood finding that the ropes (e.g. the ones wrapped around the big wood posts) are no longer 3D like SMIM is supposed to make them. I thought at first it was LOOT messing the load order up, but after some (extensive) testing I found it was indeed the Ruffled Feather that was causing the problem. I did some research and found that BDS needs to be installed BEFORE SMIM, and then SMIM should overwrite the BDS files (it says this on the ruffled feather mod page). Heres the problem. With the ruffled feather you HAVE to install both WATER and BDS at the same time using the installer. But BDS has to come BEFORE SMIM, and WATER has to come AFTER SMIM. So what do I do? Do I install The Ruffled Feather first and let SMIM overwrite it or the other way round? Thanks
  6. So after going through the install menu for SMIM, it exited out of the install menu...and then nothing. The file stayed deactivated, NMM didnt ask me to overwrite anything. Left it for like 5 minutes and still nothing. So I exited out of NMM, came back and it was still deactivated. Upon pressing, 'activate' the install menu started again and this time it actually asked me to overwrite mods and successfully installed and I can confirm it works in-game. Should I be worried about anything? I mean would the first failed install give any issues? When I installed it the second time round it was fine and nothing unusual popped up. So is there any problem? Cause I'm really unsure if i should just forget about it or reinstall the game and start again! Thanks.
  7. Oooooohhhh...similar to how Gopher used NMM to install SKSE in his SKSE video?
  8. The mod page was a bit vague, so I'm unsure how exactly you install it? I can tell that its describing a manual installation, but is there any way to install it using NMM as that seems much more convieniant for me? Which method of installation is better and how would I go about it? Thanks.
  9. Having seen these mods work in unison before, personnally i think they work VERY well togethor. Not too sure on how to configure them though. I know that in order to use ELFX you would have to disable the interior lighting optional files from CoT and only use the external lighting from CoT. But ELFX also comes with external lighting and something called ELFX enhancer, not sure what that does. Also I'm pretty sure that the external lighting with ELFX is strictly light sources such as torches and campfire. So my question is< how would you properly configure CoT and ELFX to work best togethor? Also, which night level in CoT would you recommend? (I'm going for realism, though I dont fancy running round at night with a torch constantly) Thanks
  10. Can't decide on which version of SMIM to use, the full or the lite. I have an i5-4690k abd a gtx 970 4gb. Im thinking the full version, but is the lite version any differant in terms of performance? I have used the full version before and pretty much got constant 60fps. Thoughts?
  11. So I thought I'd give cleaning my masters a try, and after following gophers instructions and then using LOOT, it didnt work. LOOT still said that they were 'dirty'. I had a panic attack (for no reason) and uninstalled the game. Would this remove any changes made by TES5edit? Was that neccessary? I didnt edit skyrim.esm, but im still paranoid that even when i re-download skyrim itll be messed up in some way. Help!
  12. I want to run realvision, the performance version. Its the only enb that I can run in game with solid 60fps no matter where I go. But there are two things holding me back. When used in conjunction with Climates of tamriel and ELFX: 1) The weather seems a bit...off. It hardly ever rains, and the skies hardly ever change. Everyday is a sunny day. No doubt this looks amazing, but I dont want every day to be a sunny day. Though I'm not sure this is something I can change 2) No clouds at night...at all. I look up and see the beutiful night sky sure, but no clouds. I turn the end off using shift+F12 and then they come back. This never changed. Its ESPECIALLY noticeable when it rains, as the sky is completley pitch black as if it isnt there but when I turn the end off you can still see the rain clouds I have a feeling this has something to do with the fact that I'm using the performance version of this ENB, though after testing medium and full, I'd like to stick with performance. This is the only ENB I'm willing to run, all the others are either not my taste or too stressful for my GPU. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  13. Upon entering the game I realised my nights were actually too bright for my taste. So to change this, I had to deactivate then reactivate the climates of tamriel patch then set the night level to 2. This worked, and now the night level is fine. But uninstalling mods causes issues with your save, I know this. The character was a 'test' character anyway. But what about my game as a whole? Can I go ahead and start a new game just fine? Or do i have to uninstall skyrim +mods and start again from scratch? Thanks
  14. Just realised that JK's skyrim is an fps killer, 24fps in certain places with a gtx 970 4gb in nearly all towns and cities! Sure they look great, but I dont feel its worth it. I want to uninstall it, but everyone says that uninstalling mods is bad, so is there anyway to safely uninstall it without starting a new game (starting a new game I will do as last resort). Same applies to realvision, I wanted to switch to the performance version as fps did drop in forest areas for example. Is there any way to safely uninstall realvision without starting a new game? Thanks.
  15. A few questions regarding the realvision enb. I downloaded the medium version, and walking about skyrim I found I had consistent 55-60fps. But in some parts of the cities, particulary when viewing wide areas of them, the fps drops down to 29-30 fps. And walking round cities, fps stays at around 40-50 fps and sometimes 60. I have JK's Skyrim installed, and Skyrim HD FULL + SMIM and book of silence etc. (I will post the mod list if requested). So are there any settings I could tweak with the ENB to increase fps performance? Thanks. P.S., whilst gaming on an MSI gtx 970 4gb im getting temperatures of around 60 degrees, is this normal?
  16. so after messing round with some .ini settings, I now find myself with very bright nights. Could someone please posts what their default value for Ambientlightingintenesitynight in their enbseries.ini file please? Thanks
  17. Interiors are especially dark, in unlit dungeon areas I can hardly see! I tried changing the .ini preferances as the mod page said but they dont seem to be having any effect, I am using the 'medium' Realvision. Please help
  18. So after installing realvision full I saw that my fps was all over the place, 30-50fps when outdoors. I decided I wanted to downgrade to the medium version, I followed the uninstallation instructions on the mod page, then reinstalled the medium version. I also started a new game after uninstalling, as I wasnt far into the game (outside riverwood). Am I good, did I do this right?
  19. Just wondering if there was a way to restore the default settings for the realvision enb, as I was fiddling with some of the settings in the 'shift+enter' menu. I think I changed all of them back, and my games running fine but I just wanted to be sure. Thanks.
  20. Right I geuss I'll leave it where it is, its not causing any issues. Thanks for the advice!
  21. But would keeping it there damage my game at all?
  22. Oh, well. Is it too late to transfer the files over to NMM? Could the manual way break my game?
  23. I was kinda forced to do it manually, as there was no 'download with NMM' button so I was a bit bemused at first
  24. I downloaded the file, extracted it, then copied all the files in the downloaded 'Data' folder to my skyrim data folder. Was that right? Because the mod page was a little vague to me. I have seen the NPC's though so at least it works
