Reverse vampire - human interactive behavior?
tawney replied to tawney's topic in Oblivion's Mod Ideas
I found which mod isn't working right and causing a conflict. It's the Lithians Vampire mod, which I should be glad for. The Sheepherder's Vanilla Vampirism works perfectly so I would hate to have to disable that one. But I don't want to disable the other one either. They are both really amazing mods. Is there any way to tweak with the Lithians one and make it not have the option to use the conceal nature power? Because I think that is the piece that might be conflicting. That or the reverse power leveling. I just love the wolf, bat, and mist shapeshifting abilities that it comes with. And the vampire super speed and strength which allows you to knock those guards silly. -
Reverse vampire - human interactive behavior?
tawney replied to tawney's topic in Oblivion's Mod Ideas
Are there any other mods that aren't so complex? I have a mod called Lithians Nature of the Beast mod ( http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20119 ) which allows you to conceal your appearance among other powers. But even though humans are not supposed to suspect you are a vampire when you have concealed your appearance, they still recognize that I am one. It's really irritating and they always attack me on sight, saying things like "ahh a vampire!" or "you won't get any of my blood!". I've tried everything, so I'm looking for a mod that is compatible with the LNOTB mod. There is a feature that allows you to make it so you are powerful when you have just fed instead of weak. I also have the Sheepherder's Vanilla Vampirism mod that works perfectly at hiding a vampire's appearance. It works even better than the conceal power feature included in LNOTB that tends to make my facial features lighter. Could one of these be causing a conflict that makes my vampirism visible to humans when it shouldn't be? As I said before I have the feature that makes fed vampires more powerful set to on. I'm wondering if that means you are then set to 100 vampirism. I've tried to toggle the conceal power and fed vampirism from on and off to see if it makes a difference, but either way they still attack me. :wallbash: -
It doesn't seem natural and original to the lore, I know. But it would fix a huge bug in my game, so I really need something like that. Instead of their disposition plummeting to the point that they attack you, could it increase? Or at least something that will make them NOT attack you? It would be ok if they just said the usual insults I guess, since it wouldn't initiate the bug I have. But it would also be a plus if they were nicer.

Actually I'm not sure if it is the GOTY edition after all because it's the combo one. It has Bioshock and Oblivion but down at the bottom it says "Winners of over 80 Game of the Year Awards Combined". So does that mean it's a GOTY edition? I'm really confused right now... I hope you can help. By the way, if it isn't a GOTY, does that mean I just install the regular patch? Which patch was it that OBSE isn't compatible with?
-
I tried downloading OBSE so I can run certain mods but it said I have an outdated version of Oblivion, so I tried patching it to v 1.2.0.416. The problem is when I try to patch from this site ( http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_patches.htm ) it comes up with a message saying "Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update since the contents do not match." I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and then I tried to patch again but it said the same thing. I have the game of the year edition so it comes with Shivering Isles, but why am I unable to patch? I'm getting very frustrated with this because I only want to install OBSE, but I've went through so much just trying to get it to work. I'm about to give up, but there are so many great mods that I would love to use if I could just get this thing working for me. :wallbash:

So I just downloaded the "stable" version from this site ( http://obse.silverlock.org/ ) and followed the readme installation instructions. But when I run the loader from either my desktop after updating the shortcut or from the obse_loader.exe I get an error saying "You are using the 1.1.0.425 beta patch of Oblivion, please upgrade to 1.2.0.416." So what do I upgrade, and how? I just want to install OBSE so I can use certain mods... But it's really confusing me. And if I do upgrade the the patch what sort of things will it effect? Will there be any difference at all in the game or my mods, and will I need to perform a clean save for all my saves?

Well as I was saying, it's an adult mod. I've been looking all over for something fitting my request. I can't find any equipable nude clothings that come in multiple choice body meshes. It wouldn't be very hard to use a body mesh like eyecandy and texturize it right? I'm not an experienced modder at all so correct me if I'm wrong. I would just like a few nude body types that I can chose from and equip on my character whenever.

I have NVIDIA Graphics and I recently downloaded the update. At least that's what my windows update manager told me to download... But when I went to play Oblivion it said something about not recognizing something, so it set the video settings back to medium. I didn't really pay much attention to it thinking I would go ahead and set them back the way they used to be. But when I exited out after resetting them to my preferred settings and reloaded the game the graphics were still the same. I've done this several times now and I can't figure out why they keep resetting to default. It's actually scaring me now because I don't want to uninstall or something. Also something I found weird, is how when I exit the game to my desktop it acts like the game crashed. It says there is an error and that it unexpectedly stopped working. But I purposely chose to exit out. Why is that? Could that be the source why it isn't saving my video settings correctly? I use mods but I always make sure there aren't any serious conflicts. Although sometimes old files get replaced or deleted when I clean out conflicting mods. Could it be possible I removed a valuable file or application by accident? By the way the adapter in my options says I'm using NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G. I assume that is the update name? Edit: Wow, I didn't realize my graphics weren't very good. Surprisingly I can play it with extremely high quality and get very little lag. I've got all the features on except shadows on grass and the window reflections. Well I fixed my problem anyway, I just adjusted it from the launcher first. Then I adjusted certain features like high quality water from the game and saved. Works like it used to!

Better face texture for orcs and dark elves?
tawney posted a topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
I've been looking around for a mod that will fix my problem, but I can't seem to find it. I have a dark elf with very dark gray skin, but her face has a horrible blue-ish tone... And no matter how much I tweak her I can't seem to ever get her face to match the rest of her body's skin tone perfectly. I seem to have the same problem with orcs, usually with a darker green/yellow face. Is there any mod that will correctly blend the face tone with the body tone? I have seen pictures of dark elves with a perfect face and body tone like these, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19293 - This is similar to her skin tone currently except she has a blue tint to her face. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18043 - Sorry there is a pic of nudity, just don't look if you're sensitive to those things. Is it just me or do these dark elve's face tones look smoother and mesh better with their skin? For having such a dark tone I don't see any blue like mine has. Since I have a Vista, I can't take an ingame pic of my character to show you why I really need something that will fix her face's tone. It just looks really off and is quite irritating because she is an assassin. I just want her face to be dark grey like her skin so she can blend in with shadows better. -

I have the TES Construction Set, and I was wondering if there is any way to edit one of my save files using that? Like, adjust my character's appearance and stats? I know I can use cheats to change my stats and appearance... But I've really grown fond of the Construction Set's way of editing an NPC. It's easier to change their appearance in my opinion. So is there a way I can open up my saved file in the Construction Set? Or is there a different type of editing program that can do this? Because I've seen people use one of their saved characters and copy them into an NPC form. I would like to create a CM Companion based off one of my saves.

CM Partner liking me less and less?
tawney replied to tawney's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
I still can't figure out the problem. -
Actually I have a couple characters, one evil and the other good. The evil one is of course using it as a base, but I don't want my good character to even have access to it. Silly I know, but it ruins the image for me.

I looked around but I can't seem to find the console codes for the items that come with the plug-in. I don't really want one of my characters carrying around the key to Deepscorn Hollow. Just isn't her type of environment... And since the key is a quest item I cannot simply drop it. I've tried to unset the quest item status in TES Construction Set but for some odd reason it stayed as a quest item, even when I loaded a saved game existing before I received the key and the quest. So I would like to remove it from my character's inventory for good using the console command, since I have no intention of following the quest on that specific profile. I hope this is possible! And thanks for any help. Edit: Never mind I finally found the code. I got it at this site (http://www.gamebanshee.com/cgi-bin/search/banshee_search.pl) but I had to change the code a bit. It says the code is 070046AD but mine worked as 020046AD for some reason. Thanks anyway, I might still check out that save manager thing for the future.

CM Partner liking me less and less?
tawney replied to tawney's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
I lowered the bounty to 0 and attacked some guards and he wouldn't even fight for some reason. When I talked to him he went from a disposition of 100 to 48. I just don't understand what the problem is... -
CM Partner liking me less and less?
tawney replied to tawney's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Is there any way to stop him from judging me because of my bounty? Mainly because he had a huge part in making it? I want him to be eeeevil! The weird part is how he only starts disliking me when I kill or attack a guard but not an innocent civilian. But he actually joins in and sometimes kills the guard himself. Is there a faction or class that will make it so bounties and infamy don't effect his disposition towards me? -
I'm using the partner Ren that came with the mod as a partner, only slightly modified. For some reason he gets angry with me when I kill guards even if he joins in! His disposition drops about 10 - 20 each time I just attack one. Before, he wouldn't even fight a guard so I had to tweak him a lot. I changed his responsibility to 0 and his aggression to 70 since even after having 0 responsibility with 20 aggression he didn't fight. I also added him to the player faction as well as a custom faction. The custom faction is supposed to change his disposition to all guards all the way to -100 and a positive 40 to me. So, why does he get upset when I attack a guard that is in a guard faction he hates? He's even barbarian and his fighting style is barbarian, and he is an orc. I just don't understand why no matter how much I tweak him to be evil he doesn't like me to be. I've bribed him all the way to 100. I changed my infamy from 30 something to 0 while my fame is around 20. Could it be my bounty because it's almost 30,000?

My Khajiit's tail is shooting through the wall??
tawney replied to tawney's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
I used the mod and also noticed he wasn't set as skeletonbeast after all. No wonder. :whistling: Well thanks! I was really feeling sorry for him. -
Ok, but what are the personality settings for an Orc that makes him fight for me without going ballistic or fighting people on his own? I want him to help fight even guards and innocents. I keep adjusting his aggression and responsibility but he either attacks anyone he doesn't like without me starting first or he won't fight at all. For some reason his personality settings effect him a lot different even though I have a couple of other partners with the same settings. And they are exactly how I want them to be. Does it make a difference in Orcs like it does with Dremora?

I'm looking for a console command, I don't know if it exists o
tawney replied to tawney's topic in Oblivion's Discussion
Could you provide me with a direct link? I tried searching it but I couldn't find it anywhere. -
I had the same problem with my assassin partners once. I'm a bit new to this mod myself but I fixed them. What I did was set their aggression to 20 so they won't attack me or my partners and I set their responsibility to only 45 so they stop being goody goodies and calling the guards... I think it depends a lot on the race and their factions when the personality kicks in. My assassins were Khajiit and Argonian by the way. If he is in the player faction and his disposition towards you is maxed I don't think you should have a problem with him attacking you now. I just hope he fights for you without going off and fighting on his own and causing trouble. That's what the responsibility setting is for, but if it's too low he be overly aggressive. Is he a custom Partner? Mine were both edited off the original Bree.
-
His name is Ren, if you have the mod you can see he was one of the already made NPC partners. I'm having problems trying to get him to fight in the Arena though. I've tried adjusting his agression and responsibility several times. But either he is too agressive and tries to fight anyone in the bloodworks, or he goes after the yellow team champion, OR he doesn't fight at all. Even when I engage in battle he just stands around staring. Currently he only has his original weapon, a guard helmet, and an arena light rainment. So I don't think he's unable to decide between weapons or something since he only has one. Not really sure how this mod works but I've tried everything I could think of. I added several arena factions to him at a time including combatant too. His combat style is set at cmdefaultbarbarian and his class is barbarian. He is also apart of playerfaction and his disposition is maxed. So what's the problem?

A Vanilla NPC is not turning Essential?
tawney replied to tawney's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
Well I tried to use the placeatme command but I could still kill him. Since starting a completely new game is pretty much out of the option, I fooled around with the TES SC a bit more. This time I found a way that satisfied me enough. I opened up his NPC file as if I was going to edit him but instead I renamed the ID and created another one of him with a different ID. I placed him on the map next to where my character would be after renaming the old one and changing his face a bit (I don't really want a clone...) and when I tried the console command kill he only went unconscious. *Jumps for joy* Now I have a studly assassin Khajiit partner who won't die! And since disabling or deleting the original crashes the game, I'll just leave him behind to guard my house or something... I'm so cruel to him... :pinch: -

tawney replied to tawney's topic in Oblivion's Mod troubleshooting
The console command to disable and enable didn't work for me either. I'll try the player.placeatme command next. He will still look like the edited one and have all the new stats right? Or will he be like the old one and I'll have to go in the TES CS and re edit?
